mardi13 says "Nice ride with great gas milage." about Subaru Forester - 2004

The Subaru Forrester is a great automobile. It is fuel efficient and has all the safety features available. The ride is smooth and quiet. The car holds up and just has normal maintenance schedules. AWD makes it easy to get around in snow and drenching rain. The interior is very comfortable and roomy enough for 5. Cargo bay in the back is larger then car trunks, and with the seats folded down there's plenty of room for large items.

One negative is the tires. Be prepared to put new tires on very early in the ownership. The brand they used in 2004 were inferior to the car.
...

BIGBX1 says "The best vehicle for the adult tuner with a small family" about Subaru Forester - 2004

The Forester XT 2004 has to be one of the best vehicles out there for an import tuner that has grown up and now has a small family. In 2004 the XT is equipped with the 2.5 boxer turbo engine out of the STI. Turbo is a little smaller and so is horse power but after the warranty is over you can easily take care of that for around $1000.
As a family vehicle it is just great plenty of room for 4 adults,I'm 6'3 and 280lbs and have plenty of space in the drivers seat. The manual transmission is smooth to operate HP and Torque are great from the factory. You will only need to mod if you have the same problem I have.
All around the Forester XT is just a great vehicle, all wheel drive turbo charged that can go almost anywhere on or off road. The gas mileage is around 17city and 23hwy thats my personal average based on my driving habits.
Great for the guy who wants a STI but needs more utility, most of the STI performance parts bolt on with no problem....

blstxi says "This is the most rugged, safe vehicle I've ever been in." about Subaru Forester - 2004

I had a subaru forrester before this one. I was involved in a roll over which I was able to walk away from. I work on a rescue squad and know that most people don't walk away from a rollover of that type with little or no injury as I did. The Forrester is avery safe, stable platform....

byubengal says "Dependable, economical, and roomy." about Subaru Forester - 2004

The Subaru Forestor is a "mini-suv" with a comfortable ride and cargo space to carry a 5-ft bookcase. Since it is on a passengar car frame, it's easy to drive (smooth manual transmission) and great gas mileage--over 30 mpg on the highway without airconditioning use. The only negatives are a slightly noisy ride, unlike a luxury auto, and the audio settings which are not readable if it's sunny as the settings are very "thinly lit" numbers. The cup holders are small so they leave something to be desired. But there are lots of positives and if, and when, this car wears out, I'll be buying another Subaru Forestor....
