Work for a family with a lot of ironing, the steam fast 680 worked well for 18 months and then started to spot clothing with rust spots. Took the board cover off only to find it was rotten underneath and the foil covering the bottom press was rotten as well. Underneath the foil was a plywood that was rotten and soaked with water, the 4 screws holding on the board were so rusted they were unrecognizable. i have never seen an ironing-board made of plywood. A unit that cost $400.00 with stand should have lasted longer. Called customer service many times ,no answer, left messages that were never returned or weeks later. Customer service offered this deal, mail back unit at your cost and send a check for $65.00 and we will try to fix it. Return time approximately 4 weeks. Such a great offer that I am shopping for a new steam press. Save your money and look somewhere else.
...

Treadababy says "I Can't Believe HOW Easy The SteamFast 680 IS!!!!" about Steam Fast SF-680 Iron with Auto Shut-off

My Husband wears nothing but Business-Like shirts. Even on the weekends. So, I was spending an entire day once a week ironing shirts. I bought the SteamFast 680 and the base that goes with it from Amazon. (Free Shipping! Yeah!) I had read the reviews before buying it. There were alot of positive reviews. I still couldn't believe How EASY it was! I am 4'11" so sitting while doing this was perfect for me. The first shirt I did I yelled upstairs to my husband, "Come Look!" Now I only iron shirts once ever two weeks! The other plus is...I don't need to startch his shirts, so the shirts are soft yet look starched or dry cleaned. I even use it for t-shirts. Somehow it makes them look newer. I can't explain it.

I spray the clothes with distilled water. There is a place to add water in a little "cup" but I find it works better to spray it then close the SteamFast 680 up. It makes a buzzing noise when it's done.

The only downside to the SteamFast 680 is picking it up and moving it. I plan on...
...

robertsonmdl says "cuts my ironing time in half" about Steam Fast SF-680 Iron with Auto Shut-off

I love this steam press. It has made my life easier since my husband has to have pressed clothes for work every day and I have 2 kids...you can say I have a nice work load. It was affordable, I bought mine on Amazon for $214 with no tax or shippng fees. If I take hubby's jeans to the cleaners I pay $5 and for shirts is $3.50 so I think this will also save me money. There is a art to using it though so it will take time to figure it out but I get better at it every time I use it. It was hard to find replacement pad and covers but SewVacDirect.com has them and I think they are the only ones. This is a good buy if you are a slave to your ironing board like it was....
