I became a member of startsampling.com years ago. I'm pretty sure it was when the site was first getting started. I have received many great samples.

Over the years there seems to be a lot more advertising on this site. I guess that's part of the whole concept of the site, but I liked it better when I first joined. It seemed like more of a small community then, rather than a big commercial site like it is now. Also, because the site has grown so much, sometimes it is difficult to get a sample because there are so many people trying to get the same sample and there are only a limited number of them. I still visit the site frequently though.

You can receive points for logging into the site and giving your opinion on the samples you receive. It can be difficult to accumulate enough points to redeem for anything. Also, when the points do accumulate there might not be anything to redeem to points for. I think this site should have more items to redeem points for. I just...

When they first started, I set them as my home page and visited every single day. I received many samples in a timely manner. Now, to get a sample, you are redirected to a different website. The "points" are basically useless. On the RARE days awards are available, they do not amount to anything...a StartSampling ink pen, cap, mug, etc. I no longer use this site....

I, like most people, would love to be able to try everything before buying it, but that just isn't possible, however, startsampling.com is doing its part to help out some. It is a free site that offers various samples from many different companies. All you do is register. I don't get e-mails from them very often at all, which is a plus, because I don't like being hounded.

About the site:
You get points for visiting, for requesting samples, for giving feedback on samples, and other things, which you can turn around and redeem for prizes. I have racked up tons of these frequent tryer points, but everytime I try to redeem them, everything is already out of stock. They don't have the greatest of gifts, but it is nice to reward people for using your site, but, it is hard to get them. One of my favorite parts of the site is the helpful hints section. It changes every week day and just has hints for around the house, etc. There are also recipes on there. There is also a place to help a fellow......

As soon as Startsampling.com hit the web waves, I was a member. It's fun for awhile, but then my interest wans, and I won't visit the site for 3 or 4 months. I've seen a lot of changes, but they all end up at the same place. It takes forever for the offers to change.

Free stuff: I have rec'd a lot of samples from this site, but many times I've waited and waited only to forget what I was waiting for.

Tryer miles: It takes forever to build up points. Sometimes the points disappear for no apparant reason. Other times the offers never change, so it can be weeks before you get to do something other than log-in. But what is much WORSE, is they NEVER, EVER have what I want. I don't want a ballcap. What I want chronically has a red light next to it. WHY????

The fun of it: OK. Since you reminded me that I've been a member for a zillion years (since was it before 2000?), I'll pick it back up and have a lot of fun for a while. It is fun, until you get stuck, or you can never get the......

I have been a member of StartSampling for more than five years now. I have tried close to a hundred products and earned points for free stuff. I found it easier to look for a free sample here before going to individual company websites. Although I don't knock doing that, this is just a time saver and gives the added bonus of points that you won't find on company websites. Try them out! The worst that can happen is that you disagree....
