My whole family went to see the Star Wars Clone Wars movie in the theater.

I'm not sure exactly what it was we were hoping the movie would be, but it didn't meet our expectations at all.

Our first problem was that the movie just started. You didn't have the typical Star Wars back story at the first of it to let you know when it was happening and what was going on.

Our second issue with the movie was the unnecessary cuss word. It's a cartoon, for kids for goodness sake. There was no point in that being thrown in there.

Our son the Star Wars crazed little boy enjoyed the movie, although he didn't love it like he was hoping.

Star Wars - The Clone Wars is a departure from the two trilogies, although it takes place between Attack of The Clones and Revenge Of The Sith. This is the first full length animated adventure. Featuring Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, the new character of Asooka is introduced as Anakin's Padawan student. They waste no time developing a working cmaradarie while being drawn into a plot revolving around the kidnapping of Jabba The Hutt's son. The story is good, and most of the action squences are equal to those in the prequel trilogy. Two minor issues for me are the facial expressions and mouth movements that don't look real enough, and the lightsaber duels that also lack some of the reality of the live action films. Also, some of the characters look good in animated form while others are too over characturized. Samuel L. Jackson, Christopher Lee, and Anthony Daniels return to lend their voices to their Star Wars personas. While General Grievous is absent, watch for Assajj......

I took my 6 year old daughter to see the Clone Wars the other day and was just slightly disappointed. It's still Star Wars, and thats a plus, it also has some really cool action scenes and fights. The Clones really make the movie. The story is very thin, what you would expect from a TV series that this was made for. But the part that left me feeling funny was that it didn't know if it wanted to target kids or adults. Lots of violence that you would not see in a kids show, with lots of people dying. But a plot to rescue Jabbas infant son with all the tropes of a kids TV show. My dauther even winced at a scene in Jabba's palace, but totally got into the action of Anikan's new apprentice Ashoka. It's probably good to go see it one the big screen, after all how many more Star Wars films will be getting there. But hopefully the TV series finds itself better than the movie did. Once again, I highly recommend the novelization to get the most out of the movie....

Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the seventh theatrical film set "a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away," is going to go down in cinema history for its many firsts.

It is the first Star Wars film without a John Williams score.

It is the first Star Wars theatrical film without live action.

It is the first Star Wars film to not be released by 20th Century Fox.

It is the first Star Wars film intended to be, for all intents and purposes, the pilot episode for a TV series.

And, if from what I saw yesterday at Cobb's Dolphin 19 Theater is any indication, it's the first Star Wars film that will not set box-office records, except those for non-attendance.
