Sprint was the only company that would give me a plan without a deposit and they approved me for up to three lines! Sprint rocks in my books because of the chance they took on me when no other cell phone carrier would. I would recommend Sprint to anyone that is having a hard time finding a cell phone provider that will accept them for a reasonable deposit. I walked into the store in the mind frame that I was going to have to pay around a two hundred dollar deposit because I knew that Sprint was known for at least the lowest deposits but when the customer service agent told me that I was approved fro three lines and no deposit.. I almost kissed her. I was in such need for a cell phone at that time. They also offer some very reasonable plans, I signed up for the plan that offers the unlimited talk to any cell phone and unlimited data and texting which is waht I use the most. I would suggest that if get a phone, get one with sprint.
...

I love sprint! There customer service is excellent. I barely ever have to wait long to get a customer service rep. and I have great signal almost everywhere. They have just added a new service where if you have a data package you get unlimited mobile to mobile to ANY carrier. It is great. I dont even have to check my minutes and I use my phone ALOT. Also received a great free phone (sanyo) and no activation when I ordered online.
...

I was recently looking for a new cell phone. I was currently using Metro PCS which I had used for a couple of years. I went to Tennessee from Fort Lauderdale to visit my family while I still had Metro service. BIG MISTAKE. They say you can use it when you are out of your zone just by adding money to your account. Well, the next to last day I was there, the phone service wouldn't work. I called Metro and they could not correct the problem. I kept asking everyone if I needed to add money to my account and they all said no. Long story short--that's all I needed to do was to add more money to my account. It was then that I decided to get a new phone and service. I finally decided on Sprint and I couldn't be happier with my decision. I went to and originally got the Instinct phone but there were things about it I didn't like, so they let me change it for a Blackberry Curve with no additional charges. I got the Everything Data plan which includes unlimited web, texting,...
...

We decided to get the Nextel everything data plan right before my husband deployed. Since everyone back home in Michigan goes with either Nextel or Sprint we figured this would be a great way to stay connected to them and not have it caust alot of money for everyone. I only pay about $65-$70 per month on my one phone. I got the new black berry and I'm very dissatisfied. The black berry its self is very awesome. But the network is horrible. I don't receive text that others send me and rarley do they recive my text and if they do they always say that my reply is at the bottom of their screens. And the push to talk was another had to have feature. Well again if I was actually able to hear what people were saying besides every other word it would be great. And if they could hear me too what a perfect combo. But they can't and it's just down right irratating. I still gave it three stars becuase I do like the Nextel phone and their bills aren't out ragous. And when my phone actually does work...
...

jd25261 says "Not happy" about Sprint Nextel

First of all. You will never see a overall great score for a cell phone company. Mainly because for every one person the company makes happy, they piss off two or three others. Reason being. When you are customer of a fortune 500 cell phone company, you are a number. No more no less. I could leave Sprint right now. But for what? So I can be treated the same way at ATT, Verizon, TMobile?

My current company is Sprint. And for every good thing they do. They do two or three bad. I called in a month ago to ask questions about my account. I finished with extending my contract for another two years. I did this by accepting a 70 dollar credit per each line.I only did it because they gave me an assurance that it wouldn't effect a rebate on a new phone purchase. I went out bought a new phone and recieved the rebate that comes with it. That was good. I'm currently unemployed. And as of late, I have had issues making payment with them. I just say this. Don't ever get interrupted. The interruption takes...
...

years ago when sprint first came out I thought They were pretty good, Thats only becuase they were one of the only phone companys out at the time. i have the motorola i850 and it sucks, it doesnt have video camera on it, not a lot of option either. I've drop it a few times and it damages very easy. I work in NYC where there is the most cell tower around and i loose bars out side of work(i work in NYC). this is not the phone or company to have if your lively hood depends on the phone or them. i cant not get service in doors most of the time to save my life, i even got the little antena chip you put on the inside of your phone to boost the reception and that didn't make any difference. when i'm on the road i loose signal often, i can not hold a conversation for long with out it dropping the call. i let my contract run out and now they charge me everytime i direct conect to some one. All the hidden fees, taxes and surcharges are not worth it ,, i cant wait until metro pcs comes...
...

Originally I had Verizon but when my dad's work phone was switched to Nextel he loved the company so much that he switched our phones too. Now these phones aren't exactly the most fashionable but at this point I'm not concerned about it at all. I'm very clumsy and I treat my phone like a crash test dummie..maybe even worst but despite falling into a river, being crushed in a door panel, falling from the the third story balcony of an apartment and falling in my chicken soup it still works. These phones are built to last, no question about that.

As for the service, it's not bad. It's not that best that's for sure but I do love that in the middle of the Mojave desert when all my friends' fancy blackberrys and iPhones had no service mine was texting, calling and surfing the web just fine. The walkie-talkie feature is love. I hate talking on the phone for a minute just to find out a yes or no answer and the solution to that is the walkie talkie. My brother and I use it daily and it saves money...
...

For the most part Sprint has friendly customer service and I was at one time impressed with their coverage because I received signals in locations where my friends and family with other providers have not. I have had service in Hawaii, and desolate parts of Colorado and Wyoming. I have been a loyal customer for nine years, however recently I cant even get a signal in my home town or in my house. On one occasion I dropped a call to a family member 4 times within 10 minutes, and I only live 20 miles from Kansas City and I live in town. When I called Sprint about the problem they told me it was my phone and my only option was to renew my contract or use my protection plan to replace it for $50. The only problem with that theory is I know several people who are now having the same problem with Sprint. Still I gave them the benifit of the doubt and called Sprints equipment protection company. When I called they said they would only replace my phone if it was physically broken and...
...

Sprint-Nextel...well, here goes. I have been a Sprint, not Nextel, customer for many years. I orginally went with Sprint as they were one of the first services that offered no roaming and long distance included. I found they were able to build out the service from a corridor carrier (mostly used for nation-wide roaming customers) but it didn't work as a street-level service. The regional carriers did a much better job in covering the area. Sprint decided to build out the network and market it toward "mainstream" users. They had the customer base but not the coverage. They went through the merger of NEXTEL and Sprint, which opened up a lot of spectrum and didn't have the customer base to support it. Now they are trying to re-tool the plans and have limited all but the most profitable pricing plans for the company. There are a lot of users that don't want the "everything" plan and the comapny makes it almost impossible to do anything wlse but. The family plans are great for a couple of users...
...

We have 3 cell phones with Sprint. One is in Chicago, on is at KSU, and one is here in Topeka. In Topeka we use a mid-line Sanyo phone. We have them all on one plan with discounts related to employers and service agreements. Monthly costs for all three is about $75/month. Sprint gives decent coverage in Topeka and on most travels. Occassionally out hunting in remote areas I will not get a signal. Rarely does anybody else in the party get a signal on another phone/carrier when that happens. There is rarely an area without a signal. If we drop a call, a quick note to Sprint automated services gives us a credit. We are much happier here than with other carriers we and family have tried. When friends/family comment about cell phone problems we recommend they try Sprint. We have been using them now for about 10 years.
...

I have been with sprint since 2001. While folks around me where screaming about all these supposed problems. I was having dependable service with them. I have had about 3 different phones in over 8 years. In fact one thing that really opened my eyes about them was for a short time I worked for AT&T. I was there when the iphone launched. I was working for their call center in fact. I learned alot about how folks FAIL to read their bills correctly. How folks try to skirt the system in order to get away with crazy bills that they themselves caused. And I also learned that AT&T actually does permanently end contracts with "PROBLEM" customers.
They just don't advertise it. Verizon also does the same. They just are not honest about it.

Sprints rates are fantastic. They offer the best Utimate Teche Data user plan in the industry cost wise. And I have to admit I can't wait to get the Palm pre.
Currently I use the Samsung Instinct and have had a great deal of fun with it.
...

Sprint Nextel is not exactly forthcoming about their billing and how they calculate minute useage. I have the family share plan that allows so many minutes per month divided among the number of phones on my plan. I am supposed to get unlimited nighttime and weekends and unlimited Sprint mobile to mobile. What they do not explain is the fact that if you are on another networks tower, the minutes used count against your calling plan. This also applies to nighttime and weekend calls. Including calls to phones on your contract and even calls to access your Spring voicemail. So much for no roam. And, you never know whether you are on a Sprint tower or another network.

...

Sprint has a very split personality. We recently moved from the coast to a mid size college city and the employees at the corporate store are awesome. Unfortuneatey, they only sell phones/services and do not have anything to do with reception.

After years of wonderful phone reception while travelling all over the country, we moved to the college town and could not get phone reception in our house or at my wife's place of employment. After way too much hold time (and many transfers) we were talked into putting an AirRave antenna in our house (no charge) to try and improve reception. It worked, but if you are on a call when you drive up to the house, the call gets dropped. If you call on your way to work, the call gets dropped driving through the neighborhood. Plus there isn't any service at work for my wife. The solution... we can buy out the contract for 600 dollars.

My wife used to be Polyanna II. Now, when she sees the black and white TV holiday commercial of the Sprint......
