productsucks says "One bag was ripped & they don't stay deflated for more than hr!!" about Space Bag

When I opened up a bag to stuff it with blankets, the "blue cheap zipper" had already ripped the bag. There goes a bag! I then opened the 2nd bag and stuffed it with blankets and sucked the air out with vacuum cleaner. Did the same for the 3rd bag. An hour later, not kidding, the air was back in there!! They are only last for about an hour and then the air comes back! What a rip off! Just go and buy yourself some garbage bags and stuff them with the blankets. You might be saving about $20.00!!

Dont buy them!
...

pitcherday says "Space Bags - yet another "as seen on TV" rip." about Space Bag

OK, this is yet another review for an "as seen on TV" product that is a total rip. I don't buy these things when I first see them on TV. I don't believe it, and then I see them in stores flying off the shelves and I think they are fine. Seriously, it's like faking a tennis ball throw with a dog. I always seem to fall for it.

I got this really "great" package off the website. It had some large, medium, and extra large and some hanging bags. The plastic is really thick. The one nugget of truth in their claims. I have some with t-shirts, some with sweaters, some with bed linens in them. None of them flattened down! You just basically end up shrink wrapping your items. I have the Dyson Animal vacuum. That thing is hard core. It will suck my carpet off the floor, but it will not flatten the Space Bags. Also, once they are vacuum "sealed" they don't always stay that way. I have some that came unsealed, so it's just clothes in a plastic bag.

If you just want to keep moths or mice out of your...
...

abrat says "great for bulky storage" about Space Bag

Space bags are great for saving space in the closets, or storing under a bed. The down fall is the zipper closure. It can be hard at times to a secure a complete closure with this design. The little blue tab to slide across the zipper is cheaply made and slides off the other end. I would like to see the vacuum plug top redesigned to a tighter snap fit than it has right now.

The concept is wonderful though and it really saves a lot of space. An x-large can easily hold a king size down conforter. I would and have recommended this product to anyone that wants to store seasonal clothing in the least amount of space. Using it when traveling works great especially for items that could leak. Seal and no worries of a mess when you open up the suitcase. Usie it for t-shirts or shorts, and you gain a lot more space for bring back those suveniors. No matter what size you buy, you can always find a use for them.
...

I was fullly on board when I hear of this product. I have way too little space and way too much stuff, so a better solution for storing winter clothes and bedding was just what I needed. I think the idea behind the product is just great, I do find that either my bags easily get holes or rip. I also found that the hanging bags don't work at all.
...

Space Bags leak more or less. Return the really leaky ones for free exchange.

Just mail them back, include your name and address, new ones will show up

in 2 - 3 weeks. If you call, you get a disgruntled girl on the line, who works in

the denail dept. I bought through AMEX and Costco, you have lifetime

satisfaction guarantee with those companies.

As a footnote. I busted a perfectly fine plastic trunk filled with deflated soft stuff,

from my summer house. There is a lot of strength in 10 pillows.

Don't store in a suitcase for more than a day or so, or you will probably ruin it.
...

cmohr80 says "Helps condense clutter, but sometimes the air gets back in them." about Space Bag

With a small home and little storage space, I'm always looking for ways to maximize storage space. So, naturally, when I saw the The Original Space Bag Storage Products, I was excited to try them.

How to Use:

Pack your clutter, any items you want to carry and/or protect. Do not pack above fill line. Seal the "zipper" easily with the Sure-ZipTM slider. Their patented closure system ensures an airtight seal for ultimate protection. Vacuum out the air using a vacuum cleaner. The patented one-way valve fits any vacuum hose. Store in your drawer, under bed, closet, garage almost anywhere.

The Space Bags states: "More closet space, more protection! If you can't make your closet and drawers larger, then make your "stuff" smaller. Now you can vacuum-seal your sweaters and other items using your own home or shop vacuum cleaner. You'll gain up to 3 times more storage space when you remove the air plus protect your valuable belongings from moisture, mildew, insects, odors and allergens."

   While,...
...

I am always trying to find ways to organize & de-clutter my home. When I saw an advertisement for Space Bags, I thought, "THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I NEED!" I called the number on the screen and ordered them right away.

Well, I got several Space Bags. Two Extra Large, Two Large, Two Medium and one Travel Bag. You load up the bag with things you wont be needing anytime soon, and then zip up the bag (twice). You then get out your vacuum and although the instructions said to insert the hose into the opening, mine wouldn't fit, so I had to firmly press it against the opening. Turn on the vacuum and watch the air disappear from the bag! Pretty cool. Then you reattach the nozel to the opening to keep it sealed. IF you didn't get that zipper closed just right, this is the point where you'll hear the air escaping. You're screwed at this point, and must start all over. IF you get it closed correctly, you have a much smaller, compacted item to store away.

But DON'T expect your...
...

Same problems as others had stated. These storage bags are a real waste. I was trying to save space with the kids out of season clothes and thought these would be great. They did not stay sealed, they leaked and refilled with air. Basically became a really expensive trash bag....

I thought these would be a great idea as space is very limited around my house. I decided I needed to store a comforter that I do not use any more, so I purchased the large bags. After fighting with the bag for about 30 minutes to get the comforter in the bag and the bag sealed, I applied the vaccuum cleaner to suck the air out. It appeared to be going pretty good up to a certain point and then it suddenly wasn't getting any smaller... the seal had broken, so I had to start all over. After about an hour, I finally got it to work. Although, the package is not a pretty and flat as it appears in the advertisements, so it is a little more difficult to store than the ad would lead you to believe....

nikki03 says "great if you have little room to store a lot" about Space Bag

As I said I love to try new things in hope that it would make my life a tad bit easier. My home is very small and don't have a lot of storage space. I was a little uneasy about these bags until I tried them. They are very easy to use and like the TV says they don't take up a lot of space. I have put in a extra large bag 4 winter jackets and 2 pairs of snow pants and still have room for a bit more, then vacuumed the air out and put them under the bed until next year. Why take up the closet space? Why use a rubber maid bin?

You can order them for the TV or take a trip to Aldies or Big Lots. It seems like they are everywhere anymore. The price isn't bad either. I think I paid $10 for box of 5 or 7 bags of assorted sizes. Or If you want just a certain size just buy that box.

In general the directions a very easy and they don't take up a great deal of space.
...

I had seen these over & over & wondered if they really worked. So, ended up ordering a set of them & was very disappointed. There is no way I can work with these on my own so my husband has to help me get all the big clothing items into the bag & then while I hold the zipper part shut, he sucks out the air with the vacumn. BUT, the zipper part doesn't always hold so you end up spending a lot of time just try to save a little space. I'd say...save your money & buy another plastic storage container, possibly one that will slide under the bed to hold your blankets, etc....
