I have been using my VAIO SZ for about 4 years now. I dont play games or do anything too intensive on the computer. Photoshop is probably as hardcore as I get. So I think my computer is not as abused as others out there. So potential buyers, keep this in mind when I say that my VAIO SZ runs pretty smoothly and fast. My friend has a similar one and she really dislikes it because it hangs all the time. She was really disappointed because the laptop unit is so expensive! But then again, she drags her computer to class and plops it down every which way so that might be the reason why it hangs all the time. Mine will hand if it gets knocked particularly hard, but since I dont really take it around it does not bother me at all. I think though that if my dad did not buy this for me, I would not have gone out to get it myself simply because it is too expensive if your just an email/google/cnn person like myself.
...

The Sony VAIO VGN-SZ450N/C PC Notebook is the king of laptops. Mark my words, you will not find another computer that will deliver better than this sony computer. First, it is aestethicgally pleasing. You would stare at this computer all day. You will rub your hands all over it even though you know there is going to be smudge marks from doing that. out would not be able to keep your hands and eyes of it. So what about performance? This computer is not a beauty without brains. It definitely has the brains to match with the beauty. It is extremely fast, the keyboard is very easy to use. You can stay typing all day and all night and your hands will not ache. The screen resolution is fantastic. The pictures are clear, it would seem like using a computer in hight definition. The video processors make is pleasurable to watch DVDS, and one of the most important things is that the battery life is superb. You should get this laptop. It is a must have.
...

I bought my Sony Vaio on special at Best Buy a few months ago and I LOVE it! Its got a great display. Its very bright and crisp. I like the way the keyboard feels. Its a great size and it fits my hands well. The keys are quiet and easy to push. The computer is very light and portable. Its easy to carry around and not a pain to keep with you during travel. And the pearly white color is aesthetically pleasing. I was looking for this to be in pink, but it wasn't available at the time of purchase. I'm surprised at how much I like the pearly white though. All of my other laptops have been plain old black or grey. The battery holds a charge that is impressive to me. My last computer was a Dell that was approaching 8 years old so this was a BIG upgrade for me. Its so fast and I love it. My only complaint is that I don't like Windows Vista!! But you can't buy a new computer without it so I won't fault the computer! I give this laptop 5 stars all the way...I love...
...

I actually taught my 82 year old grandmother how to use this laptop, and she is able to use it everyday! She loves it, too! I only trust Sony products, and this laptop only made my faith in their outstanding products stronger. I have never had a problem with it....

laurenssurvey says "I love the looks and feel, just dont try to redo your system!" about Sony VAIO VGN-SZ450N/C PC Notebook

The Sony VAIO VGN-SZ450N/C PC Notebook is a great computer for anyone who loves sony. I have a sony digital camera which was amazingly easy to use, thanks to this laptop. You do not need a converter for your memory card, because it is compatable with your laptop. Sony memory stick, sony camera, sony laptop. They all go together!

The color and design is great as well. For a college student or recent grad (like myself!) It is light weight, and so easy to use. Sony has great software that comes with the laptops as well. The only problem is, if you tend to get a lot of viruses' you may want to stay clear of a sony. The reason I say this is because the system is very hard to redo. Don't lose your install disks, because if you take your computer back to the place you bought it, they will charge you to redo your system, and wont even give you the sony programs! Also, it is extremely difficult to redo the sony system because it fights with you. Thats right, the sony laptop fights with you.

Some......

I love the fingerprint security since i can leave my laptop out no matter who is around and no one else can get into it to use it or change anything with out my finger's approval. I know Vista is not for everyone but it was installed already on the computer when i got it, and i have grown to like it.
I would recommend the sony laptop...its small and light enough to travel with for whatever your basic needs require yet large enough to have suffienct memory and storage for pictures, music, playing games, and writing reports. Its a simple, easy to use interface and has many helpful programs such as its gadgets, word document programs and multimedia options.
I really like my Sony Vaio notebook overall. It does a couple of really annoying things that I can't seem to fix though. Although it is all set up to shut off the display, and then go to sleep after a certain amount of time, it never does...The screensaver just goes and goes and goes. Also, although it is set to go to sleep when the lid is shut, it never does. I shut the lid and the screen stays on. I have looked around online at forums and such for a fix, but haven't come up with much. And from looking around for a fix, it appears that Sony Vaios often have issues with going to sleep and/or shutting down (mine has always shut down just fine when I want it to).

I have had to Dell notebooks in the past, and I am happier with my Sony than the Dells....

this computer is large. many of them are 17-19 inches. their internal batteries are very limited due to the large screens which take up lots of elecricity and the fast processors. they are intended for desktop replacement use only, as they get very hot and you can get laptop burn from them. if you are into graphics, this is the computer for you though, as its large screen can play any movie in high clarity and is very easy on the eyes. the fact that it is a sony product means that it will have a high fit and finish, as well as be the best possible high preformance pc on the market at the time you are buying it. be aware that because of this, you will pay top dollar for it....
