I purchased my Sony Vaio at Best Buy approximatley 2 months ago at Best Buy. It is very user friendly. I am not computer smart at all and have been able to easily navigate all of the programs. The battery life is not what it was advertised. They said it should last 6 hours and I find it needs to be charged after 2 hours of use. There are also programs installed that I have no use for that continue to pop up on the screen each time I start it. That may have something to do with purchasing it from Best Buy and I am just unaware of how to close them permanently. The keyboard is fantastic it is comprable in size to that of a desk top. This is my first laptop and I was hesitant to buy one because of what I had heard from others who owned one but I just love this one. There are a number of features that were included in my purchase including Microsoft Works, Microsoft Office, and a number of different games. I use this product constantly.

It is a good computer. It has lots of rams. It is very versitile. it is very modern. It has great volume and good converse power.

I've been through 3 laptops in the past 6 years, this will be my 4th. My first 2 were Toshibas, they were so-so, then I switched to MAC and while I enjoyed it, ut's really not campatible with much. I've always heard sony was a good brand so I thought I'd try it out. I've had this Vaio for over a year now and it's GREAT! The 1080 Full HD LCD screen is amazing! Itr really does make a difference when I'm watching TV. The HDMI port is also very nice because I can connect my computer to my tv and either watch videos or have a great HD way to show my whole family my vacation photos!It came with Windows Vista, which I was not happy about, but honestly after a few weeks you really don't have many issues with it. Nut now that Windows 7 is out, they're either coming with windows 7 standard or including w free upgrade, so that's nice. I wish they would give the up grade to people who bought earlier! The Vaio also has a nice media control center above the keyboard by the speakers, its got a very conviniant...

Nothing gets better than style and performance than a Sony Vaio notebook. The 15.4 Vaio FZ290 recently was replaced by the 16.4 Vail FW Series but is still available. Vaio are a bit more pricey than other computers, but I can assure you, you get what you pay for, and Sony is the best all around whether be a notebook or any other Sony electronics....

The Sony VAIO name is a trustworthy name. I have a lapotp and a desktop through this line of computers. The laptop is the most reliable one around. I have had mine for almost 3 years now and have not have not had any problems what so ever. The customer service from the company is also great. The laptop is dependable and durable. I have dropped it, my brother stepped on it and it works like i just bought it. It can be used for anything. I am a student and use it for all of my class work and homework. I also use it everyday for email and other internet uses....

I bought my Sony Vaio FZ 290 after my Sony Vaio FS broke after beeing dropped.

I love the design, the amazing bright screen and it`s performance.

( I have had some problems with Vista though: needed new router because old one wouldn`t perform with Vista and my HP printer has some compatibility problems , as well)

First I thought it was very loud because of the fans, but I soon figured out that you can change the battery settings to save mode and the constant fan noise stops!

I am also very happy with the Sony Service, very responsive and helpful.
They even send me a new harddrive because mine makes sometimes a clicking sound ( which some consider as normal).

The only complaint: the Fz is louder and gets hotter that the Vaio FS, but still much less than other laptops from different companies that I have seen.

I bought all my 3 Sony Laptops refurbished directly from Sony Style.

Compared to Dell, Compaq, or hp I have worked on, they are much more stylish,more joy to work on and perform better.

Vaio is a good laptop for anyone, especially for students. The laptop is very light so it is easy to carry in your backpack. The wifi is built in laptop so that's convenient too. It's pretty fast. I love sony vaio! The only complain I have now is that sometimes it freezes while it's in sleep mode so I have to restart my computer....

I like this computer because it meets my basic needs, but it has given me a decent amount of problems. Some of the keys fell off, it has horrible battery life, its fairly big, and its crashed a few times. I take care of it - I don't keep it turned on a lot, it doesn't really travel anywhere, but it still gave me some problems. But, under warranty, I was fine and got the problems fixed and back to me in no time....

Resolution is fantastic. Sleek design. Get the base memory and then buy 4GB at Fry's for about $80 (very easy to install)....
