its very good camera.

am using it since 3yrs and excellent prodcut to use for home purpose.

i recommand that to use this camere for any functions like marriage,brithday.

this is the one of the camcorders i have seen with best resolution and crystal clear clarity of the events that we recorded. we used to take this one when we go out for trekking , hiking, water sports, even it is used for making short movies like things when we are in college.it was very fun to have this excellent cam corder....

To me this a 7 on a 1 to 10 scale. Its great for an advance user, but the small and tricky menu is kinda large for the novice user. With settings a go for a simple john, you then have a 5 to 8 min wait from loading the dvd to actually recording on it. Although there is ways around this, through the menu options of course, you have to know your dvd r- dvd r/w language and pixle vrs frame rate per sec ying yang to get it going fast. Overall for an advance user this quite possibly a 10 but for a first timmer its around a 4. Quality pictures and excellent voice, timming, frame rate and transfer from cam to dvd player is just awesome.....

I personaly perfer the hd version of this camcorder. but for the lower price, this ones not bad. It all depends if your in for quality or the cheap price. It's very computer friendly, and is easy to hook to a tv. The battery life is fair, and the dvd time is very poor. Overall i liked my purchase but a year later i upgraded to a sony hd camcorder. Know what your getting into, because it's not cheap. Its not a toy, and i reccomend getting a high warranty. Also, i reccomend getting a tripod and carrying case for the ultimate experience with this camera....

2007Just bought a Sony Handycam 408. Makes great quality videos directly to DVD. Very simple to use. Has a nice touch screen interface. The DVDs are a bit pricey, but the camcorder ewasily connects to a DVD burner to write to larger DVDs. you can then re-use the DVD-RW. Also, takes nice pictures if you buy the memory card. The camera is great and the movie quality is super. The stills could be sharper. It is really easy to use I let my youngest use it with supervision and he has no trouble. I love it! I took it with me to our annual Hot air Balloon festival and I got some great shots. My youngest took some amazing pictures, I had trouble distinguishing them from my own....

I've had my Sony Handycam for about 3 years now. I love it. I wanted to document my childrens early years, So I went to the store and compared the different cameras. The sales lady told me to choose one that was light weight and small because you would have to be holding it up for a while. The Sony Handycam was just that and easy to hold one handed which is important. I chose a digital Handycam Over an Analog one because the picture is way more clear. You can see extreme detail in digital format where analog is less clear and sometimes hard to focus. The one I have records on a small tape which i can playback and record on VHS through my VCR. I chose it partly because it was cheaper than The one which records on DVD Format, But actually because I believe it is more durable on VHS as alot of my DVD's and CD's skip and don't play. I wanted my memories on something that would survive us.

My Sony has alot of features beyond the normal picture adjustment features. I can fade a scene in or...

easy to use camera for all your family occasions. older kids can also use with ease. small enough to go any where with you, although i suggest a camera bag. great picture quality and color. not too expensive. of course it also makes a great gift. the next time your out at that family gathering or at holiday parties, this is your date.

This is a good quality, compact camcorder. Great for capturing the kiddos new tricks! The grandparents also have this camera, and sharing video is easy to do. It is important to me to have a camera that allows for simple copying onto vhs or dvd to share with the family and get a duplicate of the angle my parents captured!...

This camera has offered me everything I need in a video recorder. I enjoy the sound and picture it produces on my Dvds. you don't have to be a whiz kid to figure it out. Even my 4 year old is comfortable with it. And the best part is, it is affordable!...

Anyone wishing to do home memories should get one of these, it is so easy to use,the picture is great, the price is great fro what you get, go compare and you will see it is as great as the more higher price ones I have had other dvd recorders that did not have as great quality as this one and where somewhat complicated, I have many grandkids and love taking unexpected videos and this one makes it possible to video in a hurry when they are not expecting , those are some of the best...Maria...

Its a great product, but only draw back is that the dvd time shoud be longer , or make such a technology so that we can use flash drives instead od DVDs. Flash drive have more memory space and easy to copy. its easy to carry and store. It will also be easy to reuse. In the cancorder we need to specifically buy small dvds, but with flash drives we can use any flash drive even the ones we ahve at home. Flash drives has memeory up to 8 GB. this saves us from carring lot od DVDs. The product has good picture qulaity. it should be made more break resistance. And the battery life should be longer....
