After having my Sony Ericsson W300i phone for only 7 months I noticed it had a problem recognizing the charging plug when trying to connect I had to wiggle it a bit, as time went on the problem only worsened as the charging port on the bottom had corrosion. My husband and mother got sony ericsson phones at same time I did and experienced same trouble. They really need to add a rubber protector like the Samsung phones or use a plug in design for charging. The phone is useless without power!

as for good points I liked how easy it was to write and send text messages, the sound quality was also good
...

After giving my Nokia 6620 to my friend, I thought it gave me an excuse to "upgrade" to a new celly. Biggest mistake of my life. I went for all the bells and whistles, phone, camera, walkman, radio function, awesome! Almost two months old, pristine condition (never been dropped, gotten wet, never left my hand), my new Sony Ericcson W300i starts shutting itself off. **I might add that once I left the store, I charged the phone overnight and when I turned it on the next day...there were text messagesd from phone numbers that are not from my phonebook! Is this a factory set thing?? Cuz I think I was sold a returned phone** Atleast 4 times a day I would hear the power down chime whether it was in my purse...or if I were in the middle of a call! I took it in, and was told that it was a software problem. When I got it back, it wouldn't even turn on!! So after two weeks with a loaner phone, and two months after paying for a "phone upgrade", I left the Rogers store without my phone again. The...
...

The Sony Ericsson W300i offers good call quality, a top-notch MP3 player, and a generous set of features. From the outside it's quite attractive. The phone is relatively compact at 3.5 by 1.8 by 1.0 inches, so it's easily placed in most pockets. It's also quite light for its size at 3.3 ounces, but the trade-off is that the overall construction feels somewhat flimsy.

In the center of the front flap is the postage stamp-size external display. Though monochrome, it's quite bright and displays the usual information, including the date, time, battery life, signal strength, and caller ID (where available). You can't change the backlighting time, but a quick flick of the volume rocker will activate the display for inspection. Above the screen is the VGA camera lens and a self-portrait mirror (but no flash), while the speaker is on the top of the rear face. The aforementioned volume control is on the left spine along with a control for activating the music player and playing and pausing music....
...

clb8904 says "Sony Ericsson W300i-Music lovers grab this one!" about Sony Ericsson - W300i Cell Phone

I absolutely love this phone. I've had the Sony Ericsson W300i for over a year and can't seem to find another to compare. If your a flip phone person like I am, then you'll love this one! It's not only a cell phone but a walkman as well. It can store mp3's and play radio. The only down fall is the amount of memory the phone comes with. Not much but that's a quick fix, buy a memory card. It has external music buttons so you can listen while the phone is closed and on the go. It comes with great ear-buds. It also has a great camera and video taking features. To me this phone is very sturdy yet lightweight. I can't tell you how many times I've dropped it and it still works like new. The reception is great, beats any phone I've ever had and I've had quite a few different brands. Another thing I love about this phone is the ability to hook it up to your computer by usb and transfer music, pictures, videos, get updates and even back up your information and keep it all together in your own......

veronicainla says "fun, functional, perfect- except when it shorts out ALL THE TIME" about Sony Ericsson - W300i Cell Phone
After retiring my archaic early 2000's cell in favor of a smaller, more compact and multi-functional version, I can say I'm somewhat satisfied with the Sony Ericsson W300i Walkman Phone. It fits the bill- cute, functional, fun, headset with a wire (no retarded bluetooth falling out of my ear), can listen to music at the gym and answer calls if I have to. Only problem is that I am now on my second one, and still having the same problems occasionally. The first one I had started shorting out about 6-8 months after purchase. No dropping it, no getting it wet- just died one day after turning itself off for months. I received a new one since they figured it might have just been faulty, and the new one has been alright for a few months now, but i'm starting to see the same problems again- turning itself off when i flip it open or closed, slow reaction times from display screen, etc. this time however, i'm saving my numbers elsewhere... i lost so many the last go round. :(...

I've had the cell phone for qute a while now and love it.

One of its big attractions was the battery life. I can charge it and it lasts for days and days. I also bought this phone because I do a lot of travelling and wanted to have a phone with good music capabilities. The sound and function fo the phone are pretty good.

one draw back is that it can be tricky to get tunes onto the phone. You have to buy a seperate lead in order to transfer between a pc and the phone, or use blue tooth (which can be fiddley and a pain)

...

CD28 says "Like it but doesnt hold many MP3s and its dying after a year." about Sony Ericsson - W300i Cell Phone

The Sony Ericsson - W300i is a compact flip phone that features: MP3 player, radio, voicemail, caller id, SMS capability, and MP3s may be used as custom ringtones. The MP3 player is a great feauture but it does not hold a large number of songs (15-20). Unlike the MP3 player, the radio feature requires the user to attach the included headphones which act as the antenna.

After one year of heavy use and slight abuse, the screen has begun to get wavy lines at the top of the inner display screen. This problem may be the result of being dropped, but one year is a very short life span for a cellphone. I would recommend the W300i because all of the features make it a good buy in spite of the short lifespan of the product when subjected to abuse or overuse....
