had it for three months and a very good job. used for a wedding and was pleased with results. used also at halloween and again it performed in a dim light setting my sister was impressed with the quality of the picture and asked where i got it.

This is a great camera, I use it for everything around the house when filming my family members. It is very clear as well, which is always a plus! I purchasex this camera last summer so I could take some pictures and video at a special Red Sox game for my disabled son. We got to go out on the field and meet some of the players. I was taking video and found I could pause the video and take pictures as the players posed with my son. What a great feature. Without this capability I would have to have had two cameras and this would be very cumbersome. When I got home I easily downloaded these excellent quality pictures and videos into my computer then printed my pictures and easily created and edited my video. This made our special day a life long meorialized thrill to be visited and enjoyed over and over again. Thank you Sony......

My husband bought this camcorder six months back, its an wonderful gift of my life . We got married three months back and we had captured every movement with that. its a fentastic experience with this Sony camcorder and got high quality picture. And its very small and easy to handle. user friendly. I recommended to one of my friends to bye this camcorder. And they bought it too and they are capturing the every sweet and cut moments of their new born baby. I am so glad to express my views about this camcorder. Sony is the best one i ever used....

This is a good product for those of us who like to take pictures of our families, who need the comfort of having something small and useable in situations, where we need to be able to take movies at the drop of a hat. This camcorder is ready to go a moments notice and is really easy to use and be able to play again. lite to carry and does not kill your hand or your arm trying to take said movies....

Sony DCR-HC30 is a great little video recorder. Gone are the days of lugging around the big bag and lots of extra batteries! It's fun, easy to use and gives great video. I loved taking movies of my children when they were small and we cherish those movies but it was hard carrying the kids and all of that equipment. Now, I just put the Sony in my backpack and take the grandkids to the zoo etc. getting lots of great movies that will last a lifetime. You've gotta love it!

For a consumer who needs 8mm/Hi8/digial 8 functionality, the TRV460 is an obvious choice. But for the consumer who is looking to venture into the MiniDV format (overall smaller camcorder/tape size), the GR-D33 might be a good stepping stone camcorder. The GR-D33 promises to have good video and low light performance, so the slight upgrade investment may be worth it. Making the transition has its pros and cons, the pros being, if you own an older Digital8 camcorder with a DV in/out port, you have the option of digitally copying your older tapes to the newer format. MiniDV tapes are more expensive, and this is something to consider when considering the transition. However, the cost has been lowered considerably over the years, and if last years trend is ever repeated (dropping the TRV line from 5 models to 2) Digital8 may soon be a thing of the past....

One of the best features of any electronic device is not remembering the last time you had an issue with it. This camera has been dependable and provided us with quality images, both personally and professionally. It's easy to handle, has the view finder or small screen to see your images through, has a lot of features for people really into getting creative with their filming or someone just looking to capture memories. We've had no issues with its dependability or quality. A great purchase.

This camcorder is small and easy to hold, with excellent button placement. The only big flaw is in its handling is with the touch screen menu, as it forces the user to dig around for things that, if externally located, could be accessed without disrupting the recording process...

what do the pro's use? if the better gear isn't available, sometimes it's sony. that means it's really good for non pros. not too complex for you to pick up and shoot. sufficient settings and gizmos to let you do some things. all in all...go with the name you have known for solid product like this one.
