I finally wanted a digital camera because I love taking photos and always have and wanted to 'graduate' to the next phase of sharing photos.

I decided on Sony because it was already a brand name that I knew I could trust. I opted to purchase directly from the manufacturer via their website instead of purchasing at a retailer.

I still managed to save about 30% off of the regular price and they provided free shipping. This camera has it all. It is full HD, which was a big deal for a camera when I purchased it over two years ago. It takes perfect pictures, and even has a setting where it will automatically focus and adjust to light, contrast, and brightness for you. The auto-flash feature always seems to come in handy at the perfect times!

So easy to upload pictures to my computer! For me, someone who really is technically challenged, it was so easy to plug in the computer and Sony's software did the rest! Point and click features were a breeze for the initial setup!

I purchased two more after...
...

We purchased the Sony Cybershot H5 in order to satisfy the Photo Bug in me and have the flexibilty to be a regular Point and Shoot before the baby crys for the picture taking mother. Its kind of like the sport sedan with an automatic trans mission for the mother who could care less that it is a sport sedan, but has the manumatic option for the gearhead goofy dad who wants to explore his sporty sensabilities. (I'm not implying that mothers don't like manual transmissions...!) This camera perfectly fills that middle niche. It resembles an SLR, and even has the mounting threads to add telephoto and wide angle lense over its auto focus Carl Ziess Vario Tessar lens. There is easy to use selection wheel that gives a breif description of each setting via the wide lLCD panel making selection a breeze on the fly for the wannabe Photographer. For the less concerned, the auto selection is a treat. Pick it up and shoot the picture....before the baby cries again!

I was reluctant to switch to a digital camera, mostly because I find them too complex to take advantage of their features but this Sony CyberShot H5 has proven very intuitive to use. Our family vacations photos have never come out so well. Very good zoom (though at full power it's hard to keep the shot steady.) Great battery life and memory capacity. I really like the large viewing screen and the ability to scroll through and delete unwanted shots. It has practically paid for itself on lower film developing costs since I don't have to keep shots I don't really want. I also like the ability to shoot in low light without a flash. Being able to look at my trip pics on my laptop is another huge upgrade for me.

I've had this camera in extreme cold and extreme heat and humidity and it has been completely reliable. I've never lost pics from memory failure, unlike some other digital users I know. Nothing has gone wrong in around two years of heavy usage. If you're still using 35mm and have...
...
