I've had an old 2.3 megapixel Sony digital camera for about 8 years. It was a great camera so when my husband decided to get me a new one for my birthday he stuck with Sony. There is nothing wrong with my old one. It's just huge compared to the new ones and it has really low megapixels. The new Sony cybershot camera that he got is 12.1 megapixels. It is really small. I can carry it in my purse or in a pocket. It has a lot of settings. There is automatic, there is a setting that will focus more on the subject and make the background darker, there is even a setting that detects a smile. If you click the button it won't take the picture until the subject smiles. My daughter said it detects the subject's teeth so it won't work with a baby. I tried it with my great-niece but she doesn't have any teeth yet so it didn't detect her smile. It has video with audio. My old one had video but no audio. There are a few other settings but I can't remember them at this time. ...

My daughter receive the sony cybershot for Christmas. She has had bad luck with cameras in the past, always dropping them or breaking them in some way. The sony cybershot digital camera has withstood the test. She has had since december and its still intact and working fine. She did drop it once and it worked just the same. No my daughter is not six, shes thirteen, ha ha ha ha. The camera takes many pictures, so she can enjoy a whole day with her friends taking pcitures. We have also used it for her school sport events and it has withstood a basket ball bouncing off of it on the bleaches. ha ha ha. She and her friends use it almost everyday. Those teenagers!!! As I am speaking she is using it. It has many functions on the camera for better picture quality and it is very easy to understand and use. Even my mother figured out how to use it, and she is very behind the times technically. I dont know much about cameras but this one has done the job that is was made to do.

Great little camera for taking quick pictures of whatever you want. It has a little screen on the back of the camera for viewing the last few pictures that you took. YOu can choose to delete the picture at that time or save it for later. Takes great outdoor pictures and has clear good quality pictures. Easy to download pictures to the computer and each picture can be changed or saved as you go. It fits into my pocket ( I actually have mine in a cell phone case) and I take mine everywhere I go....

I got this camera 2 years ago , with the regular battery I had problems to close the lens, it got stuck open, after I bought a rechargeble batteries I fixed the problçem

I spent above my budget because the salesperson at Circuit City said Sony is the best brand to buy. This camera had a lot of options, in order to make easy picture taking look professional. However, many pictures turned out blurry and the quality was not what I hoped for. I would have more to say but it broke soon after I bought it and I am in the process of having it fixed.

My Mom loves her Sony Cybershot size , low cost and how easy it is to use. She thought I would like it so she gave me one as a present. I have found it a very enjoyable camera to use and take it with me everywhere I go. The photos download into my computer with no problem....

This camera takes excellent pictures. The quality of the pictures are outstanding. It is very easy to use and navigate. This camera includes rechargeable batteries. However, the batteries do not have a long life. You can use regualar batteries but they do not last very long either....

This camera is easy to use and easy to handle. The photographs are beautiful. They really come out focused and looking great. I take a lot of pictures of my dogs that move around a lot (they refuse to stay still for a picture) but the picture still comes out great. I've had the camera for quite a while now. I hope they still make this brand so you can get one....

I shopped around a bit and compared different cameras but decided on the Sony cybershot. Everytime I pull it out of my pocket - yes it fits in my pocket - someone comments on it. It takes great point-and-click pictures and also takes video. It's a good value for a layman's photography hobby.

i like my sony cybershot. ive had it since winter 2004 and its still ticking! granted, i have had to send it to customer service twice for the same problem within the first year. after year 1: no warranty!

after 1 year, you need to buy a new digital camera anyway because of all the technology changes. no use buying extended warranty.

the one thing i dont like about sony: its all sony specific! i wanted to buy a new SD card-had to buy sony, which is much more expensive.

get a more generic brand.

p.s. the box did not come with any software, even though i bought it from best buy

We were taking a trip to Hawaii, didn't have a camera to speak of, purchase the Sony Cybershot, very user friendly, and takes great pictures, also took some movies, just a fun camera. It is small, I have the carrying case they recommended.

My son loves borrowing it, I bought him one for Christmas.

The Sony Cyber-shot with 8.1 megapixels is the best camera I've ever owned! It takes videos too! You can even crop your photos while they are in your camera, add graphics, delete, save, and do many other things with your photos. The viewing screen is enormous and everyone is always so envious of my screen. It's easy to use and one can quickly upload photos onto the computer and share with friends. It's such a great way to stay in touch!

My husband and I bought this camera for our daughter last Christmas (she was 11 at the time). Worked great out of the box with little or no explanation of features. She ALWAYS has her camera with her and has enjoyed taking pictures of herself, her friends, her pets and places we have visited. She takes the memory stick out of the camera, puts in on the computer and makes DVD's (her own movies with music) using Nero. We don't have to help her at all. I would recommend this for children her age and up, definitely easy to use and FUN!!
