While at the same time it has a great macro shot, I took close up of flowers, ants and moths. Wonderful for special occasions, sports, outdoors, landscapes, family portraits,closeups and many more. The only problem I had with the camera was indoors at the school auditorium, very grainy and dark. Weather you're an amateur or intermediate photographer, This camera has many capabilities. Aut mode is great for people who like to point and shoot. I use Manual Mode to customize my photos. There is movie mode where you can take good quality video. I also like to experiment with slow shutter speeds on this camera  for some pretty cool effects. I recommend this camera to anyone....
