I bought this Sony BabyCall baby monitor because of the price, it wasn't the cheapest, but it had decent reviews. It works well, I haven't had it run out of battery power on me yet, and it is very sensitive at picking up baby's every peep. However I have noticed that on some days, for no apparent reason, the "out of range" alert beeps like crazy even though it isn't out of range. I thought this might be due to the reciever being on a different channel as the unit, but I haven't adjusted the channels so that can't be the case. Also if there is a cell phone anywhere near, it picks up the signal from that and makes an irritating sound. Pros: it's good looking and easy to carry. I really like the lights that light up according to the volume of baby's cries. It's great to use if you're in the shower and can't hear well, or even with the volume all the way down, you can have a visual alert if baby needs you. Allover this is an average product, I wouldn't recommend it unless you're...
...

The Sony Baby Call Nursery Monitor has worked fine for us. My son is now four and we still use it. It has two different settings. One, you can hear every single thing going on in the room and two is the voice activated setting. I prefer the first one. The first one allows you to hear some things you will definitely miss if its on voice activation. One time we were able to hear my son getting sick so we could get in quick to get him to the bathroom and avoid a huge mess. Another time we were able to hear my son talking and laughing hysterical in his sleep. On voice activation you miss some things and if your child calls "mommy" and waits a while and calls again, it won't pick it up right away so you may miss it completely. Another negative is that sometimes it picks up something else and will beep. It's especially annoying in the midddle of the night. All in all its a good baby monitor with some goodfeatures and some bad ones.
...

I love this product. The fact that it lights up so if you have the volume down to watch a movie you can see that the baby is crying and how loud just by looking at it. I also like the setting that doesn't keep it on constant so if there is music playing or a humidifier running you aren't listening to that all night, it just turns on when the baby makes noise.
...

Sony Babycall Nursery Monitor is the best monitor out there- hands down. We bought 3 other monitors for our baby and all either produced too much static, or did not have the range we wanted. We came across the Sony Babycall and it was crystal clear and far reaching. We have a big yard, so often at nap time we like to work in the garden- having a reliable monitor is very important to us. I also like that the monitor is rechargeable and has different channels to choose from. When we had our second child, we again purchased a Sony BabyCall Monitor. We now use both of them and have no problems whatsoever. The best part is- we bought the first monitor 5 years ago and it is still work perfectly! The charge holds for days and it has a great voice activated feature which allows it to be silent unless there is a change in the noise in the room. We have sound machines in our children's rooms, so this allows us to not have to listen to the sound machine when we have the monitors turned on. This is...
...

rechargable battery, great image quality, easy to mount anywhere, Beltclip for mobility, Day/Night Vision, lightweight and portable.

his monitor is a life saver! Many people will tell you that it is a waste of money to buy a monitor with a video feature but consider that you can quickly peek at baby to see if she is safe without going into the room. It has a great power save feature and it automatically recharges itself when you plug it in. You can control the volume and brightness level and it has 2 channels so you can avoid static. It does still sometimes have static and you need to reposition it but it is a quick fix. I do wish it came with two monitors but if I really wanted an extra one I could pay for it but after a year and a half I have found one is really all I need (I just want more). i like to see what is going on in the babies room, also like to be able to check up on her
...

Sony Babycall. This is the best monitor on the market. I tried three others before getting this one (it was recommended to me by two friends). It has a ton of channels to choose from and has very little interference. The best part is that when I had a second child, I was able to get another one and just set it to a different channel. Every other monitor I tried had tons of interference/static, especially when I had another monitor turned on in the house. Some of the other monitors even let me hear conversations that my neighbors were having (very scary). It is rechargable as well, which is really nice since you don't have to keep replacing the batteries. The only downside to this monitor is that you can't have it right next to your telephone - cell phone or land line. If you do, the monitor makes a horrible noise! Just a note -it has a voice activated mode, but I've found that it doesn't work very well if you have a white noise machine in the baby's room.
...

I received this monitor as a baby shower gift 4 years ago before the birth of my son. I have loved it since receiving it! We still use it, as my son's bedroom is on the other side of the house from ours. I'm expecting my second child in a few months and just purchased another of these for the new baby.

I love that the monitor is water resistant. I can keep it by me in the bathtub without worrying about it getting splashes of water on it. We've never had a problem with it, in the 4 years that we've been using it. I never catch interference from another home's baby monitor either.

Great, durable product. Great, reputable company. I highly recommend this product! For the price you really can't beat it. No static, very clear reception. We love the fact that the battery is rechargable. We have been extrememly pleased with this product - like I said, so much so that we just purchased another one!
...

I purchased this monitor because it was priced well. The problem I have with the monitor is that it makes a clicking noise if you turn the monitor up to hear the babies noises. The clicking noise is very annoying and at night when I am trying to sleep it keeps me up. Because I had purchased it at Babies R Us and did not have my receipt I could not return or exchange. I did email Sony about the problem, but it was difficult to explain the problem through an email. I have had the monitor for over a year and still use it for my toddler. I am expecting my second child in a few months and have register for a different monitor. This time, I want a monitor that has a visual screen of the baby sleeping and noise detector. Don't assume that it is a good product because it says Sony. The Sony Babycall NTM-910 was a bad choice. By the way, if it is close to a cell phone, it makes a loud screaming noise if you are getting an incoming call.
...

We bought this monitor because it has such a great reputation for being reliable and having a good range. Unfortunately, it really hasn't lived up to all we had hoped. We live in an average 2 bedroom condo-- about 1250 sq feet. I can be in the room next to my daughter's bedroom, and if the cat walks by the monitor it will say it's out of range. We've tried just about every combination of frequencies, and that only seems to help marginally. And, not only does it frequently say it's out of range when it's not, but it also clicks like it's getting static interference. It's loud enough to wake me up in the middle of the night sometimes. Again, we've played with where we leave it and haven't really found a perfect solution. It's incredibly annoying.

I talked to a friend of mine, and she said she bought the same monitor for her son (who is 2 1/2) and that one works perfectly. However, she bought the same one that I have for her youngest who is the same age as my daughter and...
...

I have mixed feelings about this baby monitor. It is a great monitor in one major way: it allows the parent to turn it to "voice activated only" mode where you dont have to listen to white noise from the baby's nursery the whole time it is turned on. I loved that. BUT the negatives are numerous. It only has one receiver so we have had to carry it from our master bedroom to the kitchen area every day since my daugher was born three years ago! What a pain! Another negaitve is that the battery life is terrible. We have to have it plugged in over night or it will begin a terrible low battery beeping noise halfway through the night. One more thing I hate... if it happens to be sitting near my cell phone, it picks up the frequency and begins beeping and making a loud static noise. So as my cell phone sends out a signal periodically, the monitor will have a long static hiss noise. It really does not allow you to carry it too far from it's base. Not recommended.
...

The Sony NTM-910 900 MHz BabyCall Nursery Monitor is a must have. It allows you to feel secure that your baby is safe in their room. There is a sound activated setting, which allows you to only listen when there is a sound in the room. This product allows me to sleep peacefully throughout the night without worrying that my daughter is in some kind of distress in her room. We have cats, so I am not comfortable to leave her bedroom door open through the night. You can also take this monitor a good distance and still hear. I often take it outside while my daughter is napping to do yard work. Also, when I went on vacation, I was able to leave my daughter napping in the condo, while I was right out in front of the condo on the beach. The drawback that I see to this product, and why I did not give it 5 stars, is the fact that is picks up a lot of interference. It especially does this when it is plugged in and charging. This is the only complaint I have about this product. ...
...

The Sony Baby Call monitor is so sensitive, you can hear every breath your baby takes. The first time I used it, I turned the volume up and was jarred awake when my baby cried. It was LOUD! We've since learned to turn it down! It's so sensitive, that even upstairs, it can pick up the sound of a television being played in the living room below.

While the base unit stays plugged in in baby's room, the other, rechargeable unit can be plugged in by your bed or taken along to any area of the house. It has a handy carrying handle on top and a belt clip on back to keep it securely with you. And, if you get out of the base unit range, a red light blinks and an alarm sounds letting you know you've gotten too far away to hear baby.

It operates on different channels so you can adjust it until it works at optimum performance for you and can be set to "off," "on" or "voice activated," which only comes on if a noise is heard.

This baby monitor gave me the freedom to get chores done and never miss...
...
