Biggyrat says "The first stir is a chore, but the taste I adore!" about Smucker's Natural Peanut Butter 16oz

I grown to love the slightly burn't/roasted natural peanut taste of Smucker's Natural Peanut Butter. Love the taste and texture.

The initial stirring of the product to get the oil back into the peanut paste is a pain. Takes quite an effort to do it well without spilling oil everwhere. Once its been remixed top to bottom. Store it in the fridge and it will not re-seperate again, or maybe I'm eating it up before it has a chance.

I often time will zap it for 20-30 secounds in the micro to aid it its spreading for sandwiches etc.. For spreading on crackers etc. its not neccesary to warm it.

Smuckers sells a top mounted stirrer on their website which you may want to consider.
...

I'm 20 (doing college from home), my family goes through a jar of this a day, and I don't like any other peanut butter. All the other "Natural" stuff is tasteless at best, and as for "normal" peanut butter... well, that isn't peanut butter in any sense.

I don't know what gives it its flavor; it's salty and roasted for sure, but I feel there's something else.

Maybe I'd say that this peanut butter has the same distinct flavor that Starbucks pretends to have.

Try it!
...

I have been enjoying Smucker's peanut butter for at least 10 years. After eating natural peanut butter, the homogenized brands taste like slimy goo, and they're bad for you too! When I'm dieting I dump the oil off before mixing, but otherwise just blend it in, and sometime add 1-2 tablespoons of honey per jar. Marvelous for snacks, on apples, whatever. I wouldn't even think of going back to the "kiddy" stuff.
...

cmoyer4 says "ingredients: peanuts, salt... what a novel concept!!!" about Smucker's Natural Peanut Butter 16oz

I am always surprised to find something healthy at the grocery store. While browsing labels I stumbled upon the Smucker's Natural Peanut Butter and turned it around to see the specs. I always check the ingredients first, as I prefer not to buy products containing high fructose corn syrup or chemical names. I was shocked to see "peanuts, salt" as the ingredients list! I also don't buy products in plastic containers if I can help it, so I loved that it's in a re-usable glass jar.

Of course, as soon as I got home, I had to try it out! I must say that it makes the best PB&J I've ever had. Combined with strawberry preserves and whole grain bread it tastes amazing. I was delightfully surprised when I could taste the sweetness of the fruit over the peanut butter.

This is one of those products that can change a person's eating habits completely. It's like a gateway product to help others realize how good food can taste without being loaded with sugar and corn syrup.
...

Smucker's Natural Peanut butter really is the best! It has great taste, a great consistency and is fairly healthy. Believe it or not, my mom was the one who got me into this peanut butter. After always wanting more "fake" types that were loaded with sugar and definitely not good for you, I developed a taste and a craving for the natural types. Smucker's was able to create one that is not processed so it doesn't contain hydrogenated fats, which are used to preserve freshness and prevent the oil from separating. The natural ingredients mean you have to stir the peanut butter most likely every time you open the jar and doesn't have as long a shelf life as the processed ones but I think the taste makes up for it!

The price of the jar runs around $3-$4 for the smaller 16oz. The larger jar runs about $5-$6. Overall, I think the prices are well worth what you are getting.
...

This peanut butter is fairly good. It is so good to know that you are not consuming a lot of hydrogenated oils... thank goodness! It tastes a bit different from most peanut butter, just because it doesn't have all of the oils in it, but is totally worth it! Buy it!...

I am a peanut butter junkie and thought I would try something a little more natural this time. I should have checked with my Dad first to see what brand of natural peanut butter he buys, but I went out on my own and bought Smucker's natural peanut butter. What a mistake.

I don't know if I just bought a bad jar or they roasted the peanuts to long. This peanut butter taste burnt. Roasted peanut taste is one thing, but this just doesn't cut it. I am OK with the oil separation and that is what most "natural" peanut butters are like. I like to go for walks at lunch with my peanut butter sandwiches and the oils do seep into the bread making it messy to take along. The creamy isn't as smooth as I would like either. To me this is a very runny peanut butter and I am not to crazy about the texture.

Wanting to eat healthier shouldn't taste burnt.
...

If you revel in the luscious goodness of vibrant, natural, whole REAL food and you LOVE peanut butter then you need to let this ecstasy kiss your tongue. I've tried plenty of natural peanut butters (the ones with just peanuts and salt) and this one definitely has the richest, most satisfying flavor, and texture. Fresh out of a new jar, it is very rich, gooey (from all the natural, wholesome heart healthy oil) and despite the simplicity is unbelievably good on whole wheat bread. I avoid jelly because I don't want all that extra sugar (instead I put cinnamon on my pb) and I honestly don't miss it at all bc this peanut butter is so good. Honestly, I don't know how Smucker's makes it so good. Its even better on warm, freshly toasted whole grain bread with some good high quality raw honey. hmmm or try dipping Lindt 70% dark chocolate squares into it for a treat. Much better peanut butter chocolate treat than anything Reeses has ever processed. I'm not whiny or lazy so I won't complain about...
...

As I mentioned in my Breyers Light Immunity Boost Nonfat Yogurt review, I have low blood sugar and in order to keep it under control, it is imperative that I eat six or seven small healthy meals/snacks a day. My doctor specifically mentioned that I should purchase Natural Peanut Butter because it is a very good source of protein. I took his advice and purchased a 16 oz. jar of creamy Smucker's Natural Peanut Butter for only $2.50.

What's in this stuff...?

I couldn't wait for this part. Are you ready to see the ingredients? Here we go:

Ingredients: PEANUTS; SALT

Yup, that's it! Can't get much simpler than that. As far as nutrition goes, there is 16g of fat** and 210 calories in 2 Tbsp. It also has 120 mg of sodium and 6g of carbs. There is 8g of protein, 2g of fiber, 1g of sugars and 2% of iron.

**Over 80% of the fat in peanut butter is the unsaturated kind, which is heart healthy.

What do I think about it...?

When I first opened the jar, I have to admit that I was a bit...
...

In my home peanut butter reigns supreme and over the years I have tried just about every brand on the grocery shelf. I got on a health kick recently and decided to try the Smuckers Natural Peanut butter. The first thing I noticed is that the texture is a little more grainy than the other "creamy" brands on the market... but not unpleasantly so at all. You have to stir the oil into the peanut butter before you first serve it, but it will not rise to the top after that again. DONT get tempted just to pour off the oil to make it "more healthy" because otherwise you won't be able to get a knife through it to scrape it on your toast!

What I found is that this peanut butter is very versatile because it is not as sweet as other brands. I use it to cook with AND it tastes wonderful with all kinds of jelly. It's the best peanut butter I have found that matches so well with honey.

Everyone should buy a jar of this stuff!
...

I love peanut butter, so when I heard there was a jar of just pure peanuts and salt I couldn't wait to try it. Smucker's makes all natural peanut butter that is a jar of just peanuts and salt mixed together. It comes in delicious varieties of creamy, chunky and honey. I love it. Every bite of this peanut butter is like tasting a handful of fresh roasted peanuts and the salt adds just the right amount of flavor. I could eat this jar by the spoonful because it tastes that good. It is perfect on peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, but it is great in sweet desserts and savory sauces. One jar has 210 calories per 2 tablespoon serving, but you don't need to feel guilty because it is all natural. They also make a reduced fat version which tastes just as good. I love this peanut butter, I only wish it came in larger jars. It is a little pricier than other brands, but because it is all natural, it is pure peanut butter and tastes great. There is also a no salt creamy which...
...
