BelleWA says "BEYOND EXPECTATIONS in Every Way ~~!!" about Sleep Number Queen Bed

Originally I bought the queen size with two separate controls, though found quickly that I ended up sleeping in the crevice between the air chambers, which is essentially just an upright piece of foam. Sleep Number let me trade for a solid queen mattress with one control, which has been superb ever since~~!! Also, I did buy the fully adjustable base and have found it magnificent for propping head and shoulders and elevating legs and feet to watch TV or read . . . also, will be wonderful if ever needed apres surgery in the future. These beds are superb inasmuch as one has complete control over firmness, as some nights softer feels better, while at other times a firm mattress is just right. Love that it is critter free also, as mites and bed bugs do not find a home inside an air mattress; just one less thing to
have to maintain, yes? The motor went bad on the adjustable frame one day before the warranty expired, and Sleep Number sent out a repairman immediately; he intalled a totally...
...

sprinkles68 says "Most uncomfortable nights 'sleep' I've ever had." about Sleep Number Queen Bed

i had the opportunity to stay at a hotel that had a sleep number mattress in ever room. needless to say, i was stoked. I was for some reason under the impression (probably becuase they cost so much) that they were supposed to give you a great nights sleep and be super comfy. Well, i was dissapointed. I probably got 2 hours of sleep that night. The sleep number had 4 settings. 10 25 50 75. and changing each setting proved to be extrememly noisy. sort of like a vacuum cleaner. so that thing they say on their commercials about your partner being able to change their setting and have it different from yours? ya well maybe if you both want to stay up all night. i could not find a setting the was comfortable. the mattress either got WAY to squishy (like i was sinking into the bed) or it got WAY too hard. ( like i was sleepign on the floor) Any one who waists their money on this mattress is a sorry soul. My husband stayed with me that night and feels the same way I do. He couldn't find...
...

I have had my sleep number queen size mattress model number 5000 for probably seven of eight years. I am in my sixties now and have arthiritis and back probems. My sleep number bed give my a much more comfortable night's sleep than any other mattress I have ever slept on. My husband also has a lot of back and leg pain and he love's this mattress as much as I do. For anyone who is not familiar with the sleep number mattresses, it is the one advertised by Lindsey Wagner on television. The queen comes with two controls which allows each person to set the firmness of his or her side to the firmness that is most comfortable for them. My sleep number mattress came with a thirty day risk free in home trial twenty year limited warrenty. My husband was out of the state when it arrived, but I was able to assemble very easily myself due to it's high quality, yet lightweight component construction. About four and a half years ago we moved into a different home and the sleep number bed...
...

Chapette says "Select Comfort C2 Queen is my "Dream Lover"" about Sleep Number Queen Bed

My in-laws have had their sleep number bed for 10 years and they are still thrilled with it. So when it came time to replace our old mattress and foundation I just naturally started at Select Comfort. When I entered the store I was slightly overwhelmed by the prices listed on the various beds being demonstrated. As I lay on each model it was evident how soft they could be, but I needed to find out how hard they could be. I have nerve damage in my legs so I am unable to sleep on a soft mattress. My husband because of back problems needs a much softer mattress. So we both lay down with our individual controls and discovered that my side could be just as hard as I wished while his side could remain pillow soft. The queen size was perfect as it allowed both of us room to move, if needed, yet not incroach on each others side. So we had found the best bed we could imagine, would it break our already fragile bank? There are ways to save money even buying a Select Comfort Sleep Number bed. We...
...

We have had the Sleep Number for about a year now. One of the problems I have found is that even if you set the bed at say 50 about halfway thru the night the number will increase by 5 on it's own. Also if you have two people and the other person is not in the bed, you roll to the middle even if the two sides are set at the same setting. My back pain has improved though and I am sleeping better.
...

akula says "Once you try it, you'll never sleep on anything else!" about Sleep Number Queen Bed

The sleep number bed by Select Comfort is probably the best investment you'll ever make in your bedroom. Keep in mind, this is no ordinary air mattress - something like you'd use on a camping trip - the Sleep Number bed is carefully designed to control the pressure your body weight exerts on the bed. Combine this with the ability to make your mattress - or your side of it - firmer or softer with the touch of a button!

If you are like me, your body reacts to stresses and exercise differently, every day. Plus, the occasional cold or flu can make you ache, stiff or sore. On some days, I like my mattress firm, but when that cold or flu strikes, I want the comfort of Grandma's feather bed... soft and snuggly.

Another thing... and let's be frank. The bedroom is generally used for two things, and the mattress soft enough to sleep on, my not be suitable for, well, use number two. No problem! Just press the button and firm up the mattress. Before long the sound of the Sleep Number's quiet air...
...

We bought a queen size Select

Comfort bed, it wouldn't hold the air, so they sent us plugs for the tubes. Then the foam around the sides (Inside the mattress) all broke down. We call Select Comfort numerous times, getting rude people every time. We finally told them we would look for a different mattress at a local business that sold Select Number Beds, by that time the controls were'nt working. When we asked about the warranty they acted like we were trying to con them. Our expensive Select Comfort bed is now in the trash somewhere. We bought a Sealy Mattress set instead. For us they really did not stand by their merchandise, it is possible that wie just got a bed that slipped past quality inspection. We just got to the point that we knew they were only willing to put a bandaid on an area that really should have been replaced.
...

My husband and I have had this bed for sometime now. We liked it at first. Now, however, we HATE it. The controls rarely work anymore, and when they do it takes an hour to blow it up. The mattress has a big hump right in the middle of it, right in the middle of our backs. The box spring is all bent on my side, and I am only 140 lbs! I am just very dissapointed in this mattress, and even more dissapointed that we wasted our hard earned money on it....

My husband and I have had our queen sized pillow top Sleep Number bed for about 3 years now. When we got it I expected it to be the best thing since sliced bread. It was super easy to get set up. Took it out of the box. Unfolded the mattress part. Put the inflatables pieces inside and hooked them up to the pump and inflated them. Then hubby and I got in bed and adjusted the mattress to our "sleep number." Then it was time for bed. Yay!!! I thought I was going to have the best nights sleep ever!! I was wrong. I didn't sleep any better, or any worse for that matter, than I had any other night on any other bed. I spent the next couple of weeks adjusting my side up and down to see if that helped, but it didn't. So, I really felt kind of duped by the people in the commercials. I won't say it feels like sleeping on an air mattress....because it doesn't. I feels like any other bed. But it doesn't feel like the best night sleep I've ever gotten either.

Next time...
...

People under 6' will probably like this mattress. My wife loves it, but I hate it. I feel like I'm sleeping in a hammock. My feet are higer than my head and because of my height, my pillow and my head are resting partially on the foam frame. Sleeping on this is like sleeping on a poorly filled waterbed. Don't like it, don't like it, don't like it. I replaced my side with memory foam. Now my body has good support, but my head and feet have to rest on that cheap liner foam....

I fell for it. Sleeping on air. While it's likely true that you don't suffer all of the "pressure points" of a traditional spring mattress, I don't find that I sleep any better! In fact, my partner sleeps worse in the Sleep Number!

I wake up with fatigued muscles. I toss and turn half the night away.

I adjust the bed several times as directed. Still, I don't find the right number that works for me every time. There are even times when I adjust my side of the bed and the compressor seems like it gets stuck in a increase/decrease cycle. Pumps more air in, lets more air out, pumps more, releases more...it will continue to do that until I change the number.

The pillowtop has a tear in it and I would like to replace it but there's nowhere to call that I've found where I can purchase just the pillowtop. I've made several calls, unless I want to purchase a new Select Comfort, no one helps.

I now have a TempurPedic memory foam topper on my Sleep Number.
...
