I have had my sleep number bed 2 yrs now. When I first got it I noticed a big difference instantly, I was sleeping way better then ever. I was used to a water bed and this was great. Now 2 yrs into it I am not sure what happen to the great bed. I have adjusted the settings and it just seems that I am back to the old way when I had my water bed. I still do like this bed but it just has lost more then half the spark it originaly had. I think the quality of the bed is perfect 100 percent. I just am unhappy that the good sleep didnt last.
...

Sleep Number Bed Free In Home Trial Is NOT Free!!!!!

We were very disappointed. They charge you $59.99 to ship to your house and then if you return it you pay shipping back. NOOOO NOT just $59.99 but try triple that because they get a discount on shipping it to YOU but if you ship it back its all your baby!!!! We were out over $300.00 dollars for our "Free IN HOME trial" As far as the comfort of the bed. Not our cup of tea. The air pressure flutuates up to 10 lbs and will make a difference. Did not like having to always check the air pressure. Not a bed to just jump in to and go to sleep. Vey cheap and not worth all the money. Very deceptive in their marketing . Also watch what you buy. Everything not attached to the bed is considered an assessory and is not returnable.
...

terrible bed if you move around you can eventally fallinto the middle between the air bags and it causes a dip in the bed. warranty is really only 2 yrs not 20 yrs. cost of a new pump at 5 yrs is over 180 bucks and a new peice of foam is over 150 bucks. by the the time you hit your end useage 20 yr mark this bed would be in really bad shape. i have had mine for 5 yrs and i take really good care of it and it is falling apart now. to repair the broken items is over 600 bucks. i might as well get a decent normal bed for the replacement cost.
...

The 30-night in home trial is a scam!

I had my Sleep Number bed delivered over a week ago and have had nothing but problems since. The bed was not set up properly when delivered and I CANNOT get anyone to come out and fix. Talked to the store manager who would only point out that NO ONE ever has EVER had ANY problems in the past, then gave me a customer service phone number. Repeat calls to customer-no-service have not helped. They promised someone would contact me in 48 hours but nothing! Called to return the bed but if you do that, you're out the $159 delivery fee as well as a $200 pickup fee...so you end up spending $359 and have nothing to show for it. So they know once they've sold you a bed, they've got you! With any other product, would you be willing to PAY $359 just to try it??
...

everydaycustomer says "Warranty useless- claim normal wear and tear on 9 month old bed" about Sleep Number Bed - Select Comfort

We bought the Select Comfort Sleep Number (best one in the store) in January spending nearly $9,000. Now in Sept, the sides are sagging offering little support causing sliding to edge of bed. We were told by customer service that we could buy supports for the mattress but that compression of the foam was normal wear and tear. It is obvious that sagging side fallure is common since they offer a support fix. When we asked to have a technican come and look at the problem they said that this would not fall under the warranty and that a device could be purchased for this common issue. My husband sleeps on the failing side and is only a 150 pounds. The representative said that we should have read our warranty more carefully before we bought it. SInce at the time of sale we were told we had a two year warranty with full coverage, we didn't expect to run into an issue like this. Obviously, their foam supports are low quality. They claim it is not a manufacturing defect but normal...
...

My husband and I bought a sleep number bed because it was recommeded to us. The sales person in the store seemed nice enough. He told us deliverly would be no problem; just tell them the day you want it delivered & set up. We were told we would have our bed within 2 weeks and if for some reason did not like the bed, we could return it within the first month from purchase (roughly 2 weeks to try it out). We were sold. Seemed easy enough.

Turns out the delivery company is completely incompetent and refuses to work with you on a time to deliver the bed. They got extremely rude and demanding. After not being able to bully my husband, we returned the bed. But since we bought a mattress pad and 2 pillows, we were told the accessories were non-returnable. We could only get an exchange for accessories. Why do I need accessories to a bed I do not own. My recommendation is DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY! It is more of a hassle and when you are willing to spend $4,000 on...
...

Let me start off by saying I have had back and neck problems my entire life, starting when I was very young due to falling down a long flight of stairs (twice!). At least I have attributed my problems to these accidents. Nevertheless, I have always had difficulty sleeping, and use to constantly turn over to reposition myself due to something aching. Because of this, I never did get a good night's sleep and would wake up very stiff and sore. Four years ago, it got to where I felt like something had crushed my ribs and could barely take a breath. I knew I had to do something because this was too much, and was really taking a toll on me.

I had always seen the ads on television for the sleep number bed, but because I had spent a large amount of money on my king mattress, I just couldn't justify it in my mind to replace it with something else. Finally I said, enough is enough, and went to a Sleep Number store in a local mall. They had many to choose from, and being the frugal person...
...

BeatriceKiddo says "We both love our Select Comfort 5000 " about Sleep Number Bed - Select Comfort

We have owned our Select Comfort 5000 for just over one year and we both love the bed. Finding your perfect sleep number takes about two weeks, but once I determined that 55 was my perfect sleep number I have never changed the setting on my side.

Prior to sleeping on the Select Comfort 5000 my husband would wake up with either a sore shoulder or hip. The discomfort was causing him to wake early and not get a full nights rest. The Sleep Comfort has reduced his tossing and turning and eliminated the soreness and now he can even sleep in on the weekends.

It is difficult for two people to find a conventional mattress that meets both their qualifications for firmness, but the king size mattress with dual air mattresses meets our needs.

We have had a great experience with our sleep number bed and recommend it to all our friends and just two months ago a good friend purchased the queen size and she is thrilled with it.

I purchased a sleep number bed and I actually loved it. I had to return it because my sales person misled me about the sale. Select number was running an 18 month no interest promotion so i decided to buy a bed. The sales lady ran my credit and said i was approved. After I received my notice of my first payment I saw that I only had 90 days no interest. When I called Select number customer care they said I had to be approved on the GE credit card, somethingthe sales lady never told me. I called our sales lady and she said that she was sorry and would try to fix it and get me the 18 month no interest and would call back in two days, its been almost two weeks and heard nothing. Once again I called select number and after talking to them they said she cant change the terms that once the credit company has the account its out of their hands. So I think the sales lady was trying to get me to hold out until it was to late to return it. I had to pay 170 dollars to get it delivered...
...

I bought a Select Comfort queen mattress in late 2005. Although the air mattress design was good for the back, the quality of this product is lacking. It is basically an air bag (2 for the queen) inside a mattress ticking with some foam to give it some shape. The fabric outer layer seemed oversized, never fit the foundation properly. We could never use it at a setting below 60 without being in a pit. After 5 years, the fabric has started to shred and the whole thing provides no support. Now we have it at 100 and are sleeping in 2 large indentations. We have 2 layers of foam on top because the surface is so hard with this setting. It was a pillowtop model. That fiber is completely compressed and it didn't take anywhere near 5 years for that to happen. I have had standard mattresses, that were much cheaper and lasted for many, many years. The most comfortable mattresses I ever slept on were latex, but those were bought back in the late 50's and I don't know which ones...
...

My husband and I purchased the I9 bed from Sleep Number on July 4th via their internet site. We received the bed on July 17th via UPS shipping (we didn't want to pay the extra $150 for their people to set it up for us). We set the bed up (exactly as directed) and began sleeping on it that night. By the 2nd night I had a terrible neck and back ache and was not sleeping at all. Our bed was the king size model and had separate air chambers inside of it. Yet, every time my husband got into bed my side would overinflate and I felt as though I was laying on a huge air bubble. We could set the air chamber to 40 and a few minutes later it would be at 55 or 25...it would just randomly change settings. You felt as if you were laying inside of a hole or something...the foam sides and center stuck up more than the air chamber. I cannot begin to tell you how uncomfortable this mattress was. We were so miserable it was just unbelievable. We contacted their customer service...
...

Overpriced for what it is. After trying about 10 of the settings, I couldn't find one that would provide a good night's sleep and without waking up in extreme back pain in the morning. Shipping costs are outrageous. Return shipping is just as high. Employees will try anything to get you to keep the bed longer in hopes you will forget about the free trial period so you will be stuck with the bed. This was an expensive experience.
...

You can forget about having "fun" on it that takes a lot of work. If I roll to my husband's side (if he's not on it), its like falling off a cliff.

I bought my mom a pillow top Sleep Number bed November 2007. It has never been right. We have called the company repeatedly with no help. I live in an area that is not serviced by Select Comfort but was charged $225 for a technician to come annd service ito. Only to call back in about a month because no one had called to schedule an appointment and was then told I was not in a service area and should not have been charged. It took about 2 months to get my money back. I would called again and was told they had non record of us calling in the past that this was the first time I had called to complain about the bed. I, my sister, my brother and my mom's sitter had called in the past.
