I did not like the show Six Feet Under. I would groan every Sunday night when my husband would switch it on. He loved it while I did not. I thought there were too many sex scenes and too many vulgar words. Every time you would look up at the screen someone was having sex. Don't forget the use of drugs. I also hated how they kept seeing their dead father. He would pop up all the time. I just found the entire series to be utterly ridiculous but like I said my husband was a huge fan.
...

this show is a classic. Alan bell did a wonderful job casting this show. Each week you thought you got a handle on the show and there would be a different twist. I loved the dad who loves to call Nate buddy boy. it was a unique look into the funeral business. ...

I started watching Six Feet Under a few weeks ago, and I am now half-way through the third season. This show has so many twists and turns you can't help but watch. Each character is dealing with different issues which keeps me captivated. The problems they deal with are realistic. The setting, however, is in a funeral home, so it is kind of morbid at times. It definitely makes you look at death in a whole new light.
...

Six Feet Under is by far one of the best and most original television series to come down the pike. They don't make many like this anymore, unfortunately. The characters portray dysfunction at it's finest, but in a way that is believable and oftentimes endearing....

Six Feet Under is one of those things I discovered at my library. I was browsing through the list of DVD's a found one with this title. I had no clue what it was about but decided to borrow it anyway. When I got home I popped it in the player and started watching with my boyfriend. We were hooked at immediately went to the movie store and rented the rest of the season. I believe there is a total of five seasons for this show.

About the show: This show was originally aired on HBO. It has been nominated several times for high ranking awards and won many of them. The cast has an amazing cast including Peter Krause, Freddy Rodriguez, Lauren Ambrose, Rachel Griffiths and Frances Conroy.

The show is about a family who is in the mortuary business and about all the problems and celebrations, but mainly problems. Every episode starts with someone dying and from there it goes through the process of going to a funeral home and making all the arrangement through to the viewing. In the......

It seems all the great tv shows have been made for the premium channels that I just don't subscribe to. I'm beginning to think that I really should. I discovered this show last year while going thru movies to add to my queue to rent.

Although the title seems to be a bit morbid, you shouldn't judge a movie by its cover. I started watching it and ended up not only getting sucked in, but completely hooked! My husband is even hooked too and we've been watching it together. Even staying up as late as 2 and 3 am to "see what happens next".

There's only one episode that comes to mind that was extremely slow and dragged out but the next episodes more than made up for it. The ending was phenominal. I'm hoping to add the entire series to my dvd collection.
...

If you are like me and need to have short, action packed, and fast shows, then watch the 6 Feet Under series. Start with season 1 and keep watching. HBO has a winner here. Then again, it has won a variety of awards. You will love it!...

icon23 says "Best TV show EVER" about Six Feet Under

This is the best show to ever have graced television airwaves, in my opinion. I even completely respect that the creators of the show chose to do only 5 seasons of the show (and these were short HBO seasons of 12-13 episodes per season) and end while the show was great rather than to beat a dead dog (excuse the unintended pun) like so many other TV shows. I will admit that the 4th season was the weakest, but they more than redeemed themselves in the 5th season and the final episode was so full of joy and sorrow - like the entire series - that I couldn't have asked for more....

LaurieOCS says "A classic!" about Six Feet Under

I discovered Six Feet Under at the tape store after it was off the air. That's the best way to watch it -- rent a DVD, watch 4 or 5 episodes, go get the next DVD. Instant graification and the season ending cliffhangers don't take a year! this was a great, inventive show. the openings are particularly clever. There is a tremendous use of the F-word, and because it's about a family of morticians, some of the scenes of dead bodies are graphic. (I hope whomever did make-up on the show won lots of emmys). A fantastic show that I now grieve just like the fans did when it was over. ...
