This machine is very pricey but it would be ok if it was more simpler to use. I agree that it is not the easy machine to use it took me and 2 other friends to get the machine to make design or an mommagram. singer is one of the oldest machine company and they should make a machine that is less complicate. They should also have some machines that do designs for less money. We live in time that everyone is getting back to do it yourself times. they should make it that some new comer to sewing can pick up on their product to make a living or have fun making personel items for family and friend for gifts for some special event in there lives. i looked for a machine that do everything easily to give as a gift by could not find what I was looking for. This machine is a high tech machine for a person who has been doing this kind of work in the pass. Singer need to bring back the feeling of a machine that a grand mother could teach their grand children how to do all kind of crafts...
...

NOV 23 2007I've had my XL 6000 for 18 months now, and totally love it! The embroidery is beautiful, and it sews like a dream. I bought this machine to replace separate sewing and embroidery machines. I love the large embroidery field on the Singer, and the fact that it comes with 3 sizes of hoops, including one small enough to hoop hats and socks. It actually threads the needle, from the top of the machine through the eye of the needle, automatically. The thread exchanger allows you to "stage" or set up your next thread color in your embroidery design, it cuts the current thread, re-winds it onto the spool, and threads the next color automatically. If you run out of bobbin thread during embroidery, it stops, rewinds the bobbin, then continues exactly where it left off after the bobbin finishes winding. You can also set it to automatically cut your thread at the end of a seam, which is truly wonderful for quilters. I haven't even discovered all that this machine can do yet!

The only...
...

I purchased the Quantum XL6000 machine in March 2008 and love it. I had trouble in the beginning getting it to work with Vista. I ordered a new cable to connect the computer to the machine and no problem since. Sews out beautiful designs and love the endless bobbin. True the manual is not user friendly but with some time and practice I figured it out. Would love to find some videos. The machine is a very strong machine, does not seem like a plastic box as some of the others I tried. October to December the machine was use almost daily, I made gifts for everyone on my Christmas list, no problem. We have an old fashion Christmas each year, everyone makes their gifts. It is fun to see and receive the different gifts. I have purchased Singer machines for all 4 of my girls and have several for myself in the last 40 years. My husband and I have 7 antique Singer 221 that he loves, yes he helps mequilt. We have a Singer treddle and a Red Eye so I guess you could say we are in love with the...
...

I have the XL6000 Singer sewing and embroidery machine . I have had it worked on twice for thread wraping around the bobbin case.Ihave found the tread from the automatic bobbin does not always cut the thread If you watch the spool to see if the thread is moving when the machine starts back ,cut the machine off and cut the thread. You can remove a small amount of thread with a small blade and tweezers. When your bobbin gives out you will have to rethread, a little inconvenence but will save $200.I am calling singer today to report this problem.
...

There must of been close to a full spool of thread wrapped up in it. Then it would just stop moving. I got fixed for about 200 bucks it worked about a month then the same thing happened again. I do also have a 1000 and love it.
...

My husband bought for me a brand new Singer XL 6000. I spent a lot of time trying to learn how to use the machine using the manual and working with it. After using it only briefly for embroidery I ran into problems. First of all the automatic thread exchanger does not take into account that the color of thread you are using at the time may have broken, so when it re-threads automatically it goes to the next color instead of rethreading the current color you are using. In the long run I found to to be more work to use it than not. The manual has no table of contents so each time you wish to refer to it, you will basically have to go through the whole manual till you come across the page you are looking for. Last but not least the computerized bobbin failed and stopped catching the top thread. At first it was here and there than finally it simply would not sew without jamming in either the sewing mode or embroidery mode. I spent $100.00 shipping it round trip to the......
