kalibobabe says "Similac Sensitive worked for my baby" about Similac Sensitive Formula

My son was originally started on soy formula after not gaining enough weight from breastfeeding. He ended up having problems with the soy and we were told to try Similac Sensitive. He has done well on it. He spits up every formula, including those with the added rice cereal. He spits up this one the least and it doesn't bother his tummy.

We do use gas drops because the powder is very foamy when mixed. The liquid form is just too expensive and needs to be refridgerated. I find the powder to be the best option for our family. While a store brand may be cheaper, we are able to buy this formula with manufacturers coupons at a discount club store in a large size. This makes it comparable to most store brands and it smells better than one sensitive store brand that we tried.

Overall, this formula has helped my son grow into a strong and healthy baby. It quickly helped him gain weight when he needed it. He likes the taste and has been a happy baby.
...

Similac Sensitive Formula is great for babies who have sensitive tummies, gas, and fussiness. I have used this formula with my second son and after only a couple of weeks usuage, he didn't spit up anymore and he was able to fall asleep and stay asleep. I would recommend this formula to any mother whose baby has frequent spit ups and fussiness.
...

We like Similiac sensitive, but can't change formulas. Our baby has bad diareah and gas any time we have tried to change formulas. Similac is good, and the sensative formula did help with gas and bowel movements. The only downside is it's costly, but worth it for our little one.
...

icnsng2 says "Better than gripe water!" about Similac Sensitive Formula

This is a great formula and stays true to it's name and description! My daughter had a really hard time with gas as early as two weeks old. The doctor did notwant us to give her any gripe water or mylecin drops so we chose to try Similac for sensitive tummies. Within 24 hours she was compltely different. No more drinking half an ounce and then crying because her tummy hurt. She started burping better and it really seemed to calm her stomach.

Three months old now and she is still on it and doing great. One small con for those of you Costco frequenters...you cannot buy this in their store. It is only available online. Now that wouldn't really be much of an issue except there is a three can limit to buy andthen you pay shipping and handling. You also cannot use the nifty checks Similac sends for five dollars off so if you are going the Costco route be prepared to drop abotu $90 each order.

However this is widely available in smaller sizes at Walmart, Target and most grocery stores and will...
...

Similac sensitive was the second alternative I took when my son at 6 months developed a problem with his normal formula Similac Advance Earlyshield. We found out he has a lactose problem and the doctor and a few friends suggested i try similac sensitive. I was skeptical since he was already six months old on how he would react to formula changes. He took to it right away and now there is no gas and he is such a more happy baby now. But only use the liquid. I hate the powder.
...

The brand of Similac sensitive has helped all my children to develope the correct weight and to help in the digestive process of their sensitive tummys. I had tried other brands that the doctors say to use, but I have found Similac sensitive to help keep colic down and to help in less spit up. It has a good concentraction of os the required vitamins and milk needed to help the body to grow and it is very affordable. I donto think I would choose anything other than this brand. I have had eight children and have 21 grand children with which 6 live with me at this time and they have all been on Similac sensitive at one time or another. The doctors have had me try several different brands, but none of them have done the job that they were made to do. If there are any new mothers out there i would suggest using this brand. It is the best on the market for keeping down gas, spit up, fussy tummys and still provides the nutrients that all growing bodies need. Again, I think that the Similac sensitive...
...

I wanted the best formula for my son. Thats why i get Similac Sensitive Formula for my son. Its very easy to make. The can itself shows you how to make a bottle right and tells you how much formula you need to put in the bottle with the water. My son seems to love how it taste. I love how its fortified with things that he needs to grow healthy. Also ive never noticed that it stains. My son likes to make his bottle drip so he gets it everywhere. On the bed, the floor, me, all types of clothing. All i have to do is go and wash and i cant even tell where he dripped the formula on. It is kind of hard to drag around the can when we go out, its bulky. Some other things i dislike about it is it smells bad. And a bottle is only good an hour after you make it unless you get it in a fridge. Then its good about 24 hrs after you make it. Another great thing about it is its WIC approved. That helps alot that you can get it with WIC.
...

Crimsonrose1014 says "Similac sensitive is perfect for fussy babies" about Similac Sensitive Formula

Similac sensitive was suggested by our county WIC program, my husband and I used the powder version and we loved it, not to mention it's price was comparable to other named brand. We had a baby with a very sensitive stomach, he used to spit up a lot and we had a hard time getting him to drink. When we started using this brand his spitting up stopped and he had less trouble taking a bottle. The only small complaint we had was that it foamed up more than other brands of formula and it was hard to see the amount after it had been shaken up, also it was a bit more sticky than other brands. If these don't seem like big concerns to you and you are as desperate as we were you will love this brand of formula. It comes in a blue canister and is very easy to distinguish from the other brands and formulas from this specific brand, it is also a good choice if you have a baby who is lactose intolerant.
...

I decided to bottle feed my baby, even though I was told by many not to. My son Jaxon drank the formula that was given to him in the hospital with no problem. Within a week of being home, things changed. We went for our routine check-up a week after he was home and the doctor was not happy. He was not gaining weight. So I was forced to feed him even more and had to return to the doctor's office every other day until she was happy with his weight gain. It was quite difficult force feeding him and to top it off, he was getting extremely cranky after each bottle feeding. The screaming and crying was so intense, I broke down and cried often. I was trying to hold it together at the doctor's office, but a caring nurse noticed I was on the brink of another breakdown. She started to ask me some questions and grew concerned. She brought the doctor back into the room and we went over the story again. She decided to start Jaxon on Similac Sensitive for one week and we would go from there. I was so...
...

LuvMy2QtKids says "My baby is no longer colicky because of Similac Sensitive." about Similac Sensitive Formula

Before we started our baby with Similac Sensitive, he was on Similac Early Shield. It just did not work for him. He would spit up constantly and sometimes even throw up. After several vomit episodes, we decided something was wrong. We tried different things like sitting him up after feedings or burping him longer but nothing was working. So then we decided that maybe he had colic, so we read about it. Sure enough, everything that was happening to him was what we were reading about. So we contacted the pediatrician who told us to try out Similac Sensitive. It was god sent! It did the trick. He no longer spits up quite as much and is a much happier baby. Right now, he's drinking 6 ounces of Similac Sensitive and loves it. It keeps him happy, healthy, and with a clean outfit. I would recommend this powdered formula to all mothers whose babies are colicky because it worked so great with my son.
...

beachvirgo1 says "Its like feeding your child junk food with lots of sugar" about Similac Sensitive Formula

I used this formula for my now seven month old baby since she was two months because we believed she was lactose intolerant and she did not have the typical digestion problems with this one that she had with other formulas ....no vomiting, spiting up, reflux, gas, constipation ect. But, as the months went by I started noticing that she was gaining a lot more weight than appeared healthy and after she had been on this formula for five months I looked at the ingredients and was shocked wow! The first ingredient is corn syrup solids-sugar, and the second is sucrose...sugar. I think its like feeding your child junk food with every bottle....very unhealthy for any child.

So I highly recommend to parents looking for a good formula to avoid this one and any others where the first two ingredients are sugar. Specially if you are a health concious parent. I always read the ingredients to other foods I bought, but for some odd reason, being a new parent, I figured they would only put the very best,...
...

When i first brought my first born baby boy home, i wonder why he was so unhappy? He cried constantly, it tried gas drops, colic water, everything. Then someone told me to try a different formula. I never would have thought of that being that this was my first baby. My boyfriend and i took him to the pediatrian, she told us why he was crying so much it's because he was holding on to his gas and it was building up in his stomach making him very uncomfortable and upset. She told us to a organic formula, made from soy, needless to say that it didn't work. So we took him back to the pediatrian and this time she told us to try Similac Sensative for fusiness and gas. We bought and try it, my baby boy was a much happier camper. Similac Sensitive for fusiness and gas is wonderful, it could be just a bit better for my baby, but he has stomach issues like his father. Now next time i have a baby and they are upset, the first thing i'm going to try is similac sensitive.
...
