I agree with the other reviewers this is a typical fast food Chinese place large portions but average on quality. If you have a budget and want lots of food this is a good place to go. Fast service no nonsense......

annkala says "Good Asian food at low prices...." about Silk Road - Chicago, IL

They are known for their Spicy Chicken, but I love their Sweet and Sour Chicken. My husband and I were on this kick for their food for awhile, but we had to stop just because of all the calories. But they give big portions for the price. The employees can use a bit of manners however. One of my friends ordered a Coke and they thought he said Diet Coke. He corrected them by saying, no, a regular Coke. Well, the employee then spoke in Chinese to another co-worker, saying 'He should have a Diet Coke.' They just didn't realize another friend understood Chinese and translated........

chasfh says "All Lunches Great and Cheap Start Here" about Silk Road - Chicago, IL

All Lunches Great and Cheap start here. For under seven bucks, you can get enough food for two lunches, unless you're an athlete or you routinely overeat. The Spicy Chicken is the signature dish, made up mostly of dark meat, not very spicy hot and even a little sweet, but so-o-o good. Try the Szechuan Chicken and the Kung Pao Chicken as well. If you're going there on a Friday during Lent, you could do worse than the Tofu chicken. They have combos that include a Coke/equivalent, but I usually do free water. It's super fast, too. One caveat: sometimes the food is not so temperature hot, but they are very good about switching it out for you if you flag that.

Good stuff! Four stars as a quick lunch joint....
