I said above I'm picky and laid-back, I know that's weird, right? But when it comes to hotels, I really am some of both. Picky meaning that certain things just kill me - if it's dirty, I'll have issues. But I'm laid-back because other things don't bother me even though the bother others - if it's small, I'll survive. So after thinking of all the things about the Sheraton Chicago, I can say I had a few things that bugged me, but overall it was alright. Would I stay there again? Well, I can't say. There are just so many similar priced hotels in Chicago, so why wouldn't I try another one? One of these days, I'll find a hotel in Chicago I can truly give 5 stars to.

Why'd I choose it?
Like I said, there were so many similar hotels. I shopped online a lot because I was shocked by the prices. This particular one came out to $269 a night, including taxes and parking. That is really high to someone like me who just went to Vegas last year and stayed in a much nicer room for only...
...

I travel alot and this hotel was lacking in even common courtesy. Seems like the staff was having a bad day (ok, fine, but don't take it out on me) or maybe they just hate their jobs. The rooms were average, parking outrageous, no shuttle service to airport and how much for H20? I would have gone down the street if I'd stayed more than one night. The proximity to Lake Michigan as well as shopping was key as I don't get to Chicago very often but I'd have liked it if I could have gotten a few more bangs for my buck. I understand luxury well and just felt like this was passed off and marketed as a luxury hotel but did nothing above and beyond except be well decorated. Pass!...

I was trying Priceline for a 2 star hotel in Chicago. I don't spend much time in a room. When I travel, I travel. I couldn't get a 2 star for $80 in Chicago, so I thought that if I was putting in $90, I was sure saying I wanted 4 star - not that I expected to get it. I figured I'd go $100 plus and still be in the 2 star range. But, no. Sheraton Chicago Towers must have had some rooms going begging, so I nailed a 4 star for $90. Good deal on that!

The Sheraton Tower is right on the river in Chicago and a couple of blocks from the lake. It's a super location. I guess motel stars are all about location, location, location. This one had that right for sure. It's right in the middle of the action and with a super view.

I get a little anal sometimes and especially when dragging a suitcase, so after I ate some Chicago style pizza, I went to the hotel to make absolutely sure I really did have a room for 3 pm. It was only 1 pm, but they checked me right in. Can't beat that. Two hours early. Put my...
...

The Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers proved to be a great place to stay while in the city for the weekend.

The Hotel

The Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers - Chicago, IL is a hotel towering over the city of Chicago. It is in a prime location and many of Chicago's hot spots are within a reasonable walking distance (provided you have good directions.)

The lobby is huge! It has a store, a coffee shop, a restaurant, plenty of open seating with a view of the water, and more. It is beautiful and spacious.

The room I stayed in was rather small, but it was neat, clean and comfortable. The room had cable TV, video games and WiFi. The bed was extremely comfortable and I got a great night's sleep after all the walking I did.

While a coffee pot and the brewing essentials are available in the rooms, there are also bottled waters with a tag that says they will charge your room $6.95 if they are opened! You can bet that the two water bottles remained untouched when I checked out.

My Experience

This was my first...
...
