The Sharper Image Ionic Breeze is suppose to purify the air by using static electricity to attract dust to the metal rods located inside the casing. I have a few pets and a family member that's allergic to pet dander. So, rather than getting rid of the pets and/or the family member I decided to try the "Breeze" instead. I bought 3 of these things and placed them strategically around the house and guess what! Not much happened. Somehow I expected a little more hustle for the price.

These things have to be cleaned once a week and there is evidence that some dust, smoke, dirt etc. is being picked up. However, all things considered, I expected a little more muscle. I'm sure I could have gotten another purifier that would do at least as well and for half the price.

At first we didn't want to spend the money. We decided after some research to purchase the Professional Plus Ionic Breeze GP and the Hybrid GP unit also. The Professional Plus needs the bulb. As the bulb starts to go it makes more noise so you need to clean it more often. With the Hybrid I have to turn it down if we are sitting by it because it is cold air. Shortly after we purchased these units we heard some negatives on TV and called and had our questions answered and felt better about our purchase.

We have in floor heating with no air flow in the winter so when we had a plumber come to our home he remarked that it was a very good idea to have the air purifiers for air flow.

Except for needing a bulb and not knowing where to get one locally and the fact that cleaning the Hybrid is hard to get to some inside areas, we are happy with the results and our purchase of these air purifiers!

Had a Quadra for about a week now, and have noticed a dramatic reduction in dust in my house. True, the ozone smell is prevelant, but we all have gotten used to it...the smell isn't "bad", just different. Almost an artificial fresh. My wife and I have experienced a lot less morning congestion and easier breathing. Neither of us have respiratory distresses such as asthma, but in Florida, the pollen and mold can really get to you at times of the year. It is still early in our ownership, but I can honestly say that there is a marked difference in our air quality. *Note* We have one Cairn Terrier who is an inside resident, and he also is a bit less odoriferous. If you can get a good deal on one (Ebay) like I did, you will be more than happy. I read a lot of reviews, and personally I feel all of the negative reviews are from nanny nay-bobs, or others who have another axe to grind. No complaints at all...just hope that the unit comes through in the durability area. What...

I purchased two S1637 Sharper Images machines when I moved into the apartment building where I live. I kept one for my apartment and gave the other to a friend who is a smoker. I am so pleased at how much dust is pulled out of the air that makes cleaning easier for me. My friend was shocked at how clean his apartment smells even though he smokes. When he cleaned the machine the first time he was a believer in how good the machine works also....

The Ionic Breeze Quadra s1397 is an air purifier that has quite the reputation for filtering out the air of allergens, smells and improving the overall air quality in your home.
The unit is small and slender and runs quiet enough that it won't disturb you watching t.v., reading or sleeping, in my opinion.

My Viewpoint!
I was a skeptic about how well the Ionic Breeze would work in my household. I have 2 dogs, 2 cats and a daycare! It can get pretty stinky in here. I work hard to get my house smelling fresh and void of all animals and dirty diapers.

My Mom introduced me to the Ionic Breeze and was convinced that it would help me keep my home smelling fresh. Before I invested in my own (they are quite pricey), I tried hers out first.

It is recommended to let it run during the day and off at night but I let that baby run 24 hours a day for the first couple days. By the 3rd day, when I came home, I couldn't smell dog or diapers. I was sold.

We bought 2 ionic breeze units and feel very taken by Sharper Image, One already is out of service and the other i vacume all the dust off the exterior unit. I bought these units thinking thy would be great in our bedroom and guest room to collect dust in the room while we sleep to protect us from poor air in an older home. What a waste of money I spent to provide myself and family with an air cleaner from a name I thought could be trusted.The broken unit I only cleaned once and I waited for the filter to dry before installing, than we put it together and nothing happens. What a waste and the cost $350.00 each unit. I hope someone sues the pants off these guys for deceiving the consumer. Good Luck All ...

The Ionic Breeze is great for removing even fried foods or fish smells from your house. The only down size is that it seems to create dust. My husband doesn't like the ozone smell or bug zapper sounds that can occur when too many particles are allowed to collect on the filter.

The sharper image ionic breeze is easy to use & purifies the air. My favorite feature is that there are no filters to change. You just remove the center piece and wipe or rinse off the dirt. You can really see how much dust the machine picks up.
My allergies have improved since I got the Ionic Breeze machine. A relative stayed with us after having nasal surgery & we put one of the Sharper Image machines in the room. She said it helped immensely.
The one caution is to keep it away from the wall & furniture. Sometimes it emits a blackish residue, which we were unable to remove although we tried many cleaners.

i think this is a great product for it cleans the air and its just the right size. you know....not to bulky and what not. plus, it has a touch of style with its color and size. i do reccomend this to freinds and others. i myself is a neat freak so i do not like to worry about things standing out ( like an air filter ) which is why i favor this product. as far as its purpose. ( cleaning air ) i think it serves it pretty well and its not all that noisy...

While it does clean some particulate out of the air, the movement of air from the front of the ionic breeze is very disappointing. I would say that the tall version (about 30"+ in height) is good for a small (200-250 sqft bedroom). Would need several to feel any better in an open living or dining room.

Save your money and buy a Friedrich air purifier ($350-450). Sure it is ugly, but is work!

The Ionic Breeze has helped my husband's allergy symptoms go away. I can make fish for dinner without stinking up the whole house. The Ionic Breeze removes odors from the air. I've seen the biggest difference with our pets. It removes dog dander from the air and carpet in our home. It also removes stinky smells that come from our pets as well....
