kennie says "Cleans Well Without Skin Irritation" about Seventh Generation Free & Clear Laundry Powder

Seventh Generation Free & Clear Laundry Powder cleans well and doesn't irritate the skin. I have sensitive skin and have a hard time finding products that don't irritate me. This product also works well with my daughters skin who turns into a "red lobster" if any frangrances are in products. It is so much stuff in products now sometimes it is hard to pinpoint what your allergic to in a product. It is not a bundle of unidentifiable "stuff" in this. I feel at ease when I use this. Also it is not supper expensive like alot of environmentally friendly and specialty products out there. We shouldn't have to spend a whole lot more because we don't want unnessesary dyes, chemicals, and fragrances in our pproducts. I can buy and us this without feeling like I spent too much. Great product.
...

amommy2sons says "Fabulous product - great environmental sense" about Seventh Generation Free & Clear Laundry Powder

Though I think all of the "green" products are coming out with the exclusive high-end price tag, which is the biggest downside to the turning trend, I am willing to pay that little more knowing that I am helping to provide a better, healthier planet for my children, grand-children, great grandchildren, and so on.

Being on a tight budget does make that little extra a challenge, but hopefully products such as this will see that usage will increase if prices decrease to a reasonable norm.

Aside from the tag all the products in this line work as well as the harsh chemical, old stand-bys. The scent is mild, and clean. Removes stains as well as any other product. I am sold on the usability as well as the comfort of what this product gives back to our planet.
...

BB says "It's healthy for my family and the environment" about Seventh Generation Free & Clear Laundry Powder

It's nice to know I can use a convienient product that is healthy for my family as well as the environment. So far I'm completely satisfied with this product. Though I will agree with a reviewer above that the yo-yo process with the local stores is fustrating. Why can't seventh genertaion just stay in one place? Luckily amazon.com does carry it and buying it in bulk does save money. If only amazon would ship it out in environmentally friendly packaging....

lixion says "Safe product that give me a peace of mind!" about Seventh Generation Free & Clear Laundry Powder

Ever since I started using this brand, I've changed most of my other cleaning products to this brand, if not, will be some other brands as environmentally-friendly as this. This product makes me feel safe when I use it on all my family's clothes and feel safe even when I hang-dry my clothes indoor, as it does not use petroleum products. I've never buy another box of national brand of detergent since I started using 7th generation. I may not clean as effective since I only use cold water. So I compensate my washing a longer cycle in my front loading machine. It is actually quite easy to find in where I live, but just difficult to find it at bargain prices. I get them from Kroger or Wholefood. Publix also carry the liquid version now....

MIrror says "A favorite for years" about Seventh Generation Free & Clear Laundry Powder

I have used Seventh Generation products for years and years. During that time my local store has carried it then not carried it more times than I can count. That is my frustration with the product, but has easily been remedied now that Amazon.com carries it. You have to buy it by the case, but the price is amazing. So you buy enough to last you half a year, it is half of what you would pay if your store carried it when buying in bulk, plus the shipping is free.

Seventh Generation products have never let me down. They are high quality products with low impact on the environment and your septic system. You can't go wrong using anything from this company. I like that you can get it without scents, nothing artificial there.
...

Jo says "I'll pay more to save the environment and the animals." about Seventh Generation Free & Clear Laundry Powder

To the Point

Seventh Generation Free & Clear Laundry Powder is non-toxic, biodegradable, has no phosphates (Phosphates can cause algae blooms in lakes that can lead to plants and animals suffocating.) and has no petroleum based cleaners. It is not tested on animals.

A Closer View

I have the 48-ounce box of powder. At home I usually use the liquid detergent. For some reason I bought this. The company claims that this box will do 18 loads which seems to be a close enough estimate. I haven’t finished the box yet.

It costs $6.99 which isn’t much more than name brands though much more than no name detergents. Those may have hazardous chlorine bleach, tThe production of which creates toxins.

The ingredients are: naturally derived cleaning agent (coconut-based surfactants), non-chlorine all color bleach and whitener and non-animal derived enzymes to remove protein and starch stains); soil dispersant to wash away soil and water softener (soda ash – a naturally occurring mineral)...
...
