I was prescribed Seroquel awhile back because I couldnt sleep and I am one of the unfortunate people of the world to have bipolar disorder also known as manic depression they just found a new word for it.I want get into the emaning just know it is an alternate for manic depression. This drug is an antipsychotic used to treat this and it is one of many. This one is unlike most of the rest this one is far different. These come in pill form all the way up to 800 miligrams and if you cant sleep then this is the drug of choice for you.The first time I took this I became violent and I got so mad that I threw the vacume cleaner just because I was so high and couldnt come down that it aggrivated me.This pill will make you higher than any pain killer or any street drug that you can find and it is all thanks to science and the miracle cure.I called my doctor because no one wanted ot be around me.I was so mean and everything set me off. They called me in and upped the medication even though on a small...
...

the product that i am going to review is going to be the product as known as seroqul. given by the psych doctors all over the world. this pill varies in milligrams but the affect is the same. i was on this for quite some time and i had many muscle spasms and toe cramps cravings in mid mornings and if the dose was to high i would just dose right off. slurred speech and cotton mouth is to be expected with this product but the most negative thing this pill has to offer is the fact that you gain alot of weight taking it. i guess here are some of the side affects that i experienced. jimmy legs, is where you have the urge to move un controllable movements in the leg muscle. besides the fact that you have to be psychoatic to receive this like my self i really didnt feel that it did me any good. well, if you consider being knocked out all day a success story than i guess this is the pill you want. but me having small children in the home and being a home maker this pill did not work out for me....
...

I have been taking Seroquel for 5 years now. I started out taking 25 mg three times a day and now five years later I take 200 mg once every night. I used to lay awake at night unable to stop thinking long enough to relax and go to sleep. It was the most horrible feeling. Seroquel was the answer to my racing thoughts. Not being able to sleep has to be one of the worst feelings I have ever had. I had insurance when I started taking it so everything was great. Then I had a rude awakening. I lost my insujrance and when I went to pick up my rx it was like 700.00. I couldn't belive it. I dont understand how something that helps people so much can cost this much money. Needless to say I couldn't afford that kind of money. I would buy a few here and a few there. Luckily I received insurance again and that price dropped. So although it is a great, lifesaving, medication, the downfall (and i mean huge downfall) is that the average person cant afford it without insurance. ...
...

I was on seroquel for about a year for "bi polar disorder" later re-diagnosed as "schizophrenia" later rediagnosed for "schizoaffective" I have been on a lot of medication for things like this and so far seroquel is the only thing that has been successful. Given individual results are totally different- i had no problem with weight gain or any other side effects EXCEPT sleepyness. it is IMPOSSIBLE to wake up, you're tired all day, and eventually i went off of it because i couldnt stay awake in order to enjoy my life without the affects of my disorder. so what was the point? Dont get me wrong-when it comes to managing symptoms-its awesome. When it comes to tolerability-it just wasnt for me. Even after a mega amount of b vitamins and coffee-nothing.
...

After being on the medication round-a-bout, I finally discovered Seroquel! I've had sleeping problems for the last 7-8 years, tried everything out there. It's complicated, because I am in recovery from addiction and alcoholism, and regardless of what the company claims, most sleep aids ARE addictive. Seroquel is a great med for people in recovery, that need a sleep aid. It doesn't start cravings, it doesn't make you feel "high", and your tolerance level doesn't increase dramatically over time. I've been at the same dose (150mg pm) for over a year now, no increase! It has an added benefit of being a mood stabilizer as well, making it even more helpful for those with BiPolar Disorder (like myself) After 6 months of being on Seroquel, I no longer needed my anti-depressant! Talk to your doctor if you think this med might work for you! The only negative is the price, and there is not a generic yet.
...

I have been on Seroquel, which is an anti-pschotic used for many things other than schizophrenia, for about ten years now. Initially I was put on a low dose of this medication to help with my anxiety, which worked relitively well. After a few years, my doctor increased my dosage to 400 mgs a day to help with my bipolar and my borderline personality disorders. Seroquel has done so much for me. It helps me sleep well at night. It has helped control my mania from the bipolar disoder. And it has also assisted in helping me stop my self-distructive behaviors, such as cutting. After becoming stabilized on this along with other medications and pschotherapy, my doctor decided to lower my dosage down to 100mgs at bedtime as a maintenance dosage. I have been on this maintenance dosage now for about 2 years and am doing very well. The only thing that I do not like about Seroquel is some of the side effects that I have had, which have included weight gain (although on the lower dose...
...

Seroquel is a drug typically given to schizophrenics or patients who are mentally ill; however, in lower doses it can be effective for people without a mental illness. I am in this category. I do not have schizophrenia, but I take Seroquel daily. My perscription is 25mg, and I take 3 pills (75mg) every night prior to bedtime. I always knewthis medication was something I needed, but I wasn't quite sure why. In fact, I always felt embarassement when people found out I needed the drug. A couple of weeks ago I finally aked one of my dctors (I have Brain Cancer so I have several different doctors that help me cope with my illness), why I am taking this medicine. I knew that seroquel helped me to function in my daily life as well have relationships with others, but I could never explain exactly what the medication does. My doctor gave me an incredible response, which made me feel so much better about taking a "psychotic" drug!! In short, he told me that I am similar to a patient with TBI (traumatic...
...

I have been taking Seroquel since 1997 when i was first diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder. Consequently, I have experienced most of the side effects of this medication. I was never told about these side effects until I spoke with my doctor after seeing a commercial relating all the negative, dangerous side effects.

Then I began researching Seroquel and found the FDA reported side effects website. As read the very long list of reports, I kept finding things I had gone through and never knew why. Suddenly. I had some answers.

That was 3 years ago and I'm finally being weaned off the drug and that's only because I have a new doctor. Unfortunately, it is hard to get off the drug because it does control my symptoms somewhat and it helps in specific areas. It's a catch 22 situation. I want my Bipolar controlled, but i don't want the dangerous side effects.

And here's the ironic thing, as far as I know Seroquel is the most effective anti--psychotic on the market to treat Bipolar ...
...

Seroquel is a great drug. It is classified as an atypical antipsychotic. Its used for several different reasons.
It is very helpful in the treatment of Bipolar Disorder. It helps with the depression often associated with Bipolar Disorder and also works as a mood stabilizer. On top of that, It is also useful in treating anxiety and its sometimes perscribed as a sleep aid.

I have Bipolar Disorder and I have problems with anxiety and trouble sleeping. Seroquel has helped me tremendously. Seroquel has helped me with my 3 big problems. ......I sleep better, I am less anxious, I am happier and I have remained stable for over a year. On top of that, although I was cautioned about the possibility of weight gain, I have not gained any weight since I started taking it over a year ago. I couldn't ask for a better result. THANK YOU SEROQUEL for changing my life and making everyday so much better.

*** be sure to have your blood sugar levels checked regularily while on this medication.......

I am
a sufferer of Bipolar Disorder. Bipolar Disorder is a very
severe mental disorder. You have extreme high moods and
extreme low moods. You can experience these type of moods
and not be Bipolar. The severity of the disorder can range
different for all people. When in severe high moods called
manic mania, the person doesn't sleep for days, and has excess
energy that is most commonly useless due to the brain being
clustered with to many thoughts at one time. This leads to poor
logical thinking, money spending spells, and promiscuous
behaviors. When the person is experiencing extreme lows called
manic depression, the person often becomes so depressed
that they present suicidal behaviors. Seroquel is often prescribed
to people with this condition for the mood stabilizer, and to
prevent extreme manic mania and manic depression.

I have been using Seroquel for about 4 months now to help a mild bipolar problem that my doctor thinks I am suffering from. The med does help prvent highs and lows in behavoir and emotion, and with an increased dose at night allows me a deep and sound sleep. There are several side effects associated with this drug. Feeling a bit groggy the first 30 minutes or so upon waking, dry mouth at times, and heart burn are some of them. Another strange effect is that it seems to make my feet sensitive shortly after ingestion. Not a tingling or pain, but just very sensitive to pressure. This drug is effective and does cause some sedation, so care should be used when driving or the like when first started to be used. This drug is very expensive and is not probably suitable to those without insurance....
