My back has been in pain for almost 40 years now. It started with a pinched spinal chord at the base of my back while painting. It has caused me no end of agony...

...until I bought a Sleep Number bed about five years ago. It quickly put an end to most of the pain I suffered for so long. Now when I aggravate my back, one or two nights at most on my Sleep Number mattress is enough to dissapate the pain. No, my back problem still has never been solved. No doctor has been able to cure it. Yet, this mattress has done wonders when nothing else could.

The rationale behind the Sleep Number bed is the dial with the number setting. The mattress works by pumping air into it. The user simply selects the number, counting by fives, from zero to 100 for their pesonal setting. I can change the number easily anytime I want. Whichever number I set tells the mechanism how much air to use, and thus how firm or soft the mattress will be. Upon purchase, it took a bit of experimentation to find the right number...

I have persistent limb movement disorder which is a lot like restless leg syndrome but just involving the whole body for many years I have been unable to get a good nights sleep even with medications this mattress is wonderful I can be comfortable and adjust the firmness when needed - like when I was pregnant and wanted something softer to accomidate the belly my husband no longer wakes me when getting into bed by causing movement in the mattress i would highly recommend this to anyone...

I really like this mattress but the old addage 'you get what you pay for' is true for this product. It's not a top-quality mattress, but it's held up beautifully over five years. The nly problem is that it's sagging on the edges where people tend to sit. Falling off the bed is kind of embarrassing....
