This bed is by far the worst bed I have ever owned. The matress does not hold air like it should. The company sent out 3 replacement matresses and new tubes and nothing fixed the problem. We have been dealing with Select Comfort for 6 months trying to correct the problem but so far all we have are very sore backs. I didn't have back pain before sleeping on this matress but I do now. You can start out at 100 and end up at 0 by the time morning comes. I am very disappointed! The other problem is the matress doesn't stay in place when you use the adjustable foundation. The bed slides down and you have to move it back in place everytime you put it back in the flat position. The massage feature is a joke. It is really a vibration that has no theraputic benefit. I am embarassed to say I spent this much money for a bed that has given me back pain.
...

Bought the Sleep Number bed on the recommendations of friends. BIG MISTAKE!! Since I am the only one sleeping on it, there is now a crater in the middle. Even when I asked the sales person about the 2 air bags and only one person, I was assured this would not be a problem, I have more back pain now, then I did while sleeping on my $500 mattress. I am now $3,000 in the hole for a bed that is pitiful. It's embarrassing when guest come to stay over and use the bed.

When I contacted Select Comfort, they told me to have the floors of my house checked and that their was probably a dip in the floor. They are refusing to stand behind their product even with the warrantee.

This company should be ashamed to call these bed American. If they were true Americans, they would back their products 100%.
...

I purchased a model 5000 Sleep Comfort bed, used it a short time and learned that the material in the pillow top cover compressed so badly it kept me from sleeping. It feels like I'm attempting to sleep in a hammock. I pumped the mattress up all it would go and the sag was still very visible and the additional pressure merely made me sore. I phoned the company and they basically said to "fluff" the mattress cover. After attempting several "fluffs", I called them back for a replacement. They said the compressing was normal and if I didn't want to PAY for a new mattress cover, tough. They were not sympathic to my plight at all. This was not an old mattress at all and I still feel the problem is with bad materials. I had purchased one of their beds previously, had it 20 years, and had no problems with it at all. This new one is the absolute pits. Beware buyer because you will be on your own with this outfit.
...

I have had a Select Comfort King size bed with all the bells and whistles (dual chambers, vibrate massage, adjustable frame, etc) It was great for the first 3-5 months - then it seemed I needed to change the firmness very frequently to be comfortable - that helped for around a year, then after that, I just can't spend allot of time on it.

I had back surgery and have a failed lumbar fusion so support while sleeping is very important. I have a military cot with a 3" memory foam pad on it that I find more comfortable. When I sleep on it, my chiropractor and massage therapist always comment on how much better my back "feels" to them and ask what I'm doing different - back on the cot I say!

Though sleeping on the cot doesn't make me feel very close to my wife! So we're looking for a bed again - after only 7 years of the select comfort. Plus the dual chamber leaves a "hump" in the middle of the king bed which always acted as a boundary between my wife and I - Kinda weird design on their...
...

Sleep Number 5000+ with the zipper top you can take off to wash. I read a number of reviews having complaints. Which made me want to write one of my own. My husband and I have been sleeping on the sleep number for more than 4 years. (we changed form a water bed) Both of us were obese at the time. With many joint aches and pains from the extra weight. What a blessing the bed was to both of us. we could increase or decrease the pressure to ease the pain in hips knees and back. Thus getting a great nights sleep. Being post menopausal, I was having trouble staying asleep, night sweats. The bed is much cooler than a water bed. After finding the best "number" I slept like a teenager. My husband has his side much firmer than my side. There doesn't seem to be a problem with this. We have never experienced any of the difficulties some of the other people reported. This bed isn't any more expensive than any other name brand bed. The one thing we don't have is bed lumps or slumps like a traditional......

I had a great experience in the Select Comfort showroom, and I was very excited about getting a new bed. The first disappointment was when the delivery company (the one Select Comfort hired to deliver and set up the bed) didn't show up at all on the delivery date. One day of lost work. Then on the resceduled day, they called and said they could not find the bed. Second day of lost work. Three weeks after the initial promised delivery date, I had a new bed. I got a queen size bed with the two separate air chambers to accomodate the firmness preference of two different people (anticipating marriage in the near future). I am a single guy and the dual chamber mattress was the most uncomfortabe thing I had ever slept on, with the exception of the picnic table in the park during college, but that's a different story. I called the store sales-lady to see if I could exchange it for a single chamber mattress. The sales lady was very good at her job and I was able to exchange matress types......

We purchased the select comfort air bed because my husband and I like different firmness for sleeping, we thought this would answer both of our desires. However, I really dislike the bed and my husband is happy with the purchase.

The positives are that each person can set their own firmness level. The motor is fairly quiet. Setup is not difficult and took a minimal amount of time.

The negatives are that I now wake up with a sore shoulder/neck/arm which has never occured before. I sleep on my side and it feels like my shoulder is hitting a hard surface beneath the pillowtop. We even purchased a memory foam top and that has not helped the situation. It needs more give at the pressure points for side sleepers. I have it set at 40 and if I soften the bed anymore, I feel like I'm sinking into the bed which is not comfortable to me. My husband likes a soft bed and has his set at 20, but it looks like he's sunk down into the bed and I am at least 6" above him. If I dare...
...

The Select Comfort Air Bed is the best bed that I have EVER slept in. My boyfriend likes his side firmer than I do. We would have never agreed to just one bed. This is like having 2 beds in 1. My sister has a Select Comfort Air Bed at my recommendation and my mom is going to buy one soon as well. I don't usually "advertise" items but, I love my bed....

After doing much research online, I thought this would be the best mattress for my back problems. I tested the bed in the store and then later brought my husband in for the test. We decided to buy the top of the line 9000 kingsize bed paying over $5000 for the set. When it was delivered and set up all seemed OK until the first night. When I woke up the next morning, the bed did not have much air in it. I read about testing for leaks and did what it said. Sure enough, I had a leak. I contacted the company and the lady I talked with said she would ship me new air chambers overnight (this was Friday morning). I did not received the air chambers by Monday afternoon so I contacted Select Comfort and found they had not been ordered. The lady I talked with then agreed to have then shipped that day overnight and send a confirmation email with the shipping number. I did received the new air chambers Tuesday and my 30 day trial was extended an additional 30 day period. until Dec. 30, 08. So,......

We have a Select Comfort king sized bed. My husband & I were looking for a comfortable bed, and had slept very well on portable air beds when visiting relatives. So, we figured select comfort with dual controls should be even better.... Boy were we wrong! My husband prefers a softer matress (#40-45) and I prefer a little more firmness (#55-60). Because his # is lower, there seems to be a "hole" on his side of the bed from which I am constantly fighting to keep from rolling into! And, when he gets up and leaves in the morning (earlier than me) the hole gets way worse because then there is no body weight dispersing the air. When he is on the road, I pump up his side to 65-70 (firmer than mine) and then I am able to sleep fairly well. The advertisements showing people snuggling together in the middle of a Select Comfort bed make me laugh! If only all the viewers knew that the actors were actually laying on the uncomfortable foam divider! In order to get the benefit of the bed,......

Wow - the Select Comfort air bed is the best. Never before have such comfortable accomodations been available at such affordable prices. I usually have a lot of trouble with my back and neck hurting when I wake up in the morning due to poor mattress quality - either too soft or too hard or whatever. But with Select Comfort Air Bed, I can choose for myself what density I prefer based on how I'm feeling when I go to bed. I always wake up feeling refreshed and able to exercise. My neck is never stiff because the bed conforms so well to my contours, and I have noticed 75% less back pain since I've slept on a Select Comfort Air Bed. I would highly recommend the Select Comfort Air Bed to everyone, especially those with back or neck problems. You can set it for your personal needs, and if you're married, you can both sleep in the same bed with different air mattresses. It comes at affordable cost, so no need to worry about that. Get ready for the best night of your life!...
