I must commend the customer service team for helping me make sense of a highly unusual promotional problem. I had receieved a letter in the mail congratulating me on the receipt of my new Sears MasterCard, and inviting me to join their Sears Choice Rewards program. I was also offered 500 points if I were to use the card within the next two days (by 10/31/09)..plus an extra 1000 points for using the card only twice more before December 31. To make a long story short, the customer service team informed me that my new Sears MasterCard was on its way, and that it would replace my old Sears/K-Mart card. I was then told that if I went to either Sears or K-Mart within the next two days and made any purchase charged to my old Sears/K-Mart card, that it would qualify toward my receiving the promised 500 points. Finally, I was encouraged to call back and let the Sears Choice Rewrds folks know when my new MasterCard arrived, so that they could make sure that the points would be properly...

I sign up for this card as many and overall was not satisfy with it because of the high interest. Also watch for communication break. I always paid my bill on time until I gat sick. So at the bigining of that month I did a 20 dollars purchase and forgot about it after being sick for three weeks. Got the bill and never read it because I thought I didn't use the card and my husband also forgot about it.

The next month, did not use the card and did not receive a bill. and the next month. Then I decided to close the account and went to the store, the told me they couldnt, I had to call the compagny. Which I did and that's when told me my balance. God I was suprised and when they send me the actual bill that's when I realized. They never send me a notice or reminder to pay my bill until I decided that day to close the accoutn. Can you imagine if I didn't? They just stop sending me the bill and at the end I had to pay 195.03 dollars for a bill of 20 dollards that I forgot.

They are out there...

My recent purchase was a telephone purchase of a major item (52 inch Samsung television) and I used my Sears Master Card. The clerk told me that the credit card company needed to call me and verify the purchase before it would be authorized. Within a minute or two, I received a call from Master Card to verify that I had initiated the charge to my account and verified some other information and then promptly authorized the purchase. I was reassured that the purchase was verified in this manner. Thanks Master Card!!!...

I understand a department store charging higher interest but this is a MC and it should be more in line with any MC. I cannot afford any balance on this card so it has to be paid off monthly or they get most of the payment in interest! and the payment is too high also. I dod not recommend this card. Stick with a regular dept store card or MC do not combine them....
