The food and service at this place is usually ok at best, things that were initially homemade are now store bought (i.e. the cookie monster dessert). It is essentially bar food, but you can't expect much more in a one horse town.

Avoid this place like the plague when school is not in, the food just doesn't turn over as quickly and management clearly doesn't throw things away as they should. Once we got food that was dried out and we sent it back the 2nd time we got queso sauce that was a different color than usual but we were assured by the server that it was supposed to be that way...that night everyone at the table who had eaten it was sick (and 2 of us weren't drinking). You don't have to poison me twice...I won't be back.

I work in downtown Lafayette so Scotty's is just across the river and I've been there for lunch a few times. The atmosphere is casual and friendly with TVs throughout showing multiple sporting events. I've signed up for their e-mails and get notice of any upcoming events and on my birthday I get a coupon for a free entree. Everything I've had to eat has been good and the staff is always friendly. My only complaint is that sometimes it can be pretty slow during the lunch rush. Prices are reasonable.

Downtown West Lafayette has grown a become something better than a empty Sears building. We now have a downtown. Scotty's Brewhouse is located in the mall area that also houses apartments. Since it located so close to the University there is a number of college students that are walking (or dragging by after a weekend party). Very humorous to watch. We really enjoyed the outdoor dining area and the absolutely wonderful service. The food was phenomenal. The choices became hard when the menu was more like a book. The portions were substantial. When the Manager come up and spoke with us after we were finished (learned it was our first time there) was a nice touch. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes a variety of meal choices. The Prices are very reasonable as well....
