I bought this mp3 player as a gift for someone who is computer literate but not all that tech savvy--I put the music on it the first time. etc. A few days letter I got a call saying that he was recording music with his ever so cool FM radio function and wanted to put a movie on it. He now has expansion cards and is just loving this little device. It is really sleek in design and has a nice size screen that is easy to read. Stores photos, music, videos. Very fun device. I'm glad i bought it.
...

Rachel-in-Boise says "So Easy! (And so many great features)" about SanDisk - e280 8GB MP3 Player

I am not computer illiterate. Most of the time I can hold my own ... but I am GenX and we are just not as up to date on all things technical like this younger generation. (My goodness, I think they must start learning this stuff in Kindergarten!)

Recently, I started thinking that I would like to have a MP3 player. I sure don't want to be like one of those kids that has an Ipod glued to one ear and a cell phone glued to the other, but I was starting to think that it would have its advantages.

I knew exactly what I wanted. I wanted an MP3 player that had an FM tuner and could record from FM and also record voice. I bought a Aim 2GB player that I thought was going to be exactly what I wanted ... but it was so complicated. I would have never figured that out in a million years! (I returned it)

So I went on askville.com to see if someone could recommend a player that was EASY as well as have the features I wanted. I only got one response and they told me to get an Ipod (even though that...
...

i love my mp3 player. i've had several, and the sansa is by far the easiest to put music on and use. the dial that spins on the bottom to select where to go makes it easy to move around on the player. it holds tons of music, pictures, videos, etc., and even has fm radio. no additional software is needed to use this. it's lightweight, so it's not a problem to carry in hand or in a pocket. great value for the features it offers. ...

This is an awesome little player. It has all the features of the IPOD without the price tag. it blows away the Nano and is much more flexible. The music can be loaded with Media Monkey, Windows Media Player, or by dragging and dropping. It can support customizing by adding different themes to the screen. If are you a real computer geek you can load Rockbox. I have had the player for almost two years. I did have to have my first one replaced because the head phone jack went out. Working with Sandisk was pleasant and the switch went off without a hitch. I did not even have to give up my player. They sent me a new one and I sent back the broken one. The sound is fine. I bought a 1gb micro sd card and loading the music has to be done by drag and drop which is a bit of hassel but it works great. The player loads the music and you don't have to switch between the internal memory and the card. I wish it natively supported SDHC as 32gb cards are right around the corner,......

I bought this to use at work, where I am a data entry operator and get bored quite easily. I loved how much storage space the Sansa had, so I am able to load lots of music, audio books, and pictures to brag on my kids at break time. Haven't tried to load videos yet, as I can't watch videos at work. I paid $150 for this while comparable MP3 players, including ipod were upwards of $199. I replaced the earbuds to a more comfortable set--I wonder why they include those things, does anyone actually use them? I have had a few issues where I have had to reformat the whole thing more than once. That part is a little annoying, but the customer service at SanDisk is very good--they respond quickly and have been able to walk me through all the problems. I'm very happy with it....

I spent weeks on the internet doing research on mp3 players and I decided on the Sansa e-280. I have owned mine now for 3 months and not once have I had a problem with it. It has an FM turner built in, which was a major factor for me. Uploading songs was a breeze and with 8 GB there is plenty of room for uploading. There is not too much this this mp3 player won't do....

I love using this Sansa SanDisk player, I download podcasts from my favorite radio shows and hook it up to my pc and in minutes it transfers to the mp3 player. My husband drives most of the time so whenever we have a long drive ahead of us I put in my ear plugs and listen to the inspirational words I downloaded from the cd's I have from Dr. Dyer, it's a great way to pass the time and learn something new. I also download video and watch movies too!...

Barksfan says "Better deal than an Ipod" about SanDisk - e280 8GB MP3 Player

With a price point in the $110 to $130 range, this item is an exceptional deal. I added a 2GB micro expansion card and now have a total of 10Gb - all flash memory, no hard drive. This makes for exceptional battery life.

Not recommended for video playback as the screen is so small. But I do recommed the Altec Lansing docking station for music playback. It sounds excellent, I also added a subwoofer (fairly hard to find) and really am pleased at the sound.

Pros: Built in FM tuner, expandable memory slot, bigger screen than ipod, user replaceable battery, much cheaper - than an Ipod.

Cons - not as many accessories as the Ipod, I wish they would do a software update to allow for the newer 4GB micro sd card (I've already filled everything to the brim).
...

I couldn't be happier with my Sansa e280. It holds 8GB - I still haven't even come close to filling it up. It is very easy to use. I bought the Griffin iTrip and use it in my car mostly. Beats carrying CDs any day! I chose this over an iPod because you get the same GB for much less money. Also, the e280 offers an expansion slot and the ability to change the batteries yourself (unlike iPod). The only way it suffers compared to iPod is that there aren't as many accessories, but it has everything I need....

I'm a loyal iPod fan (since 2nd generation - when they were not Windows ready), but was looking for an MP3 player to leave at work.

Didn't want to spend for another iPod or Nano. After looking around saw the Sansa. The look and feel is similar to iPod. Similar folder navigation and scroll wheel that is easy to use.

Sansa also has other features like FM Radio Tuner and Voice Recorder. The e280 also has an Flash Expansion slot that can add up to 2GB (currently) onto the 8GB the player already has.

Better value when compared to a comparable Nano, and from a brand I trust (all my flash memory cards are SanDisk - for my cameras, PDAs, MP3s, etc).
...
