I have been using my Sansa for over 3 years and it is just the right size to use while jogging and biking. I have the 2GB version and that is enough to hold about 6 albums or several books on tape. The battery life is very good and the display is easy to read, even in bright or dim light. It features a voice recorder that I sometimes use when interviewing the software developers I work with so I can keep accurate notes about what we discussed.

The only downside is that although you can group songs by artist, the player does not let you group by directory and it can be hard to find a song if you have a lot of unrelated artists.

The unit is very durable; I have dropped mine numerous times and it worked well after each mishap. Unfortunatly, I accidently crippled it recently with a static shock while using the USB cable and will be shopping for a replacement soon.
...

This MP3 Player I bought for a very reasonable price has proven to me the best bang for my buck. It is a small, compact, and portable item for me to carry anywhere. I had it for almost a year and there been no technical problems. This brand of MP3 player is very durable and has a lot of nifty features not found in other MP3 Players. First, the back screen lights up with almost a neon like blue. This is very helpful if you are in a dark place where one cannot see as clear in the light. The entire screen is digitized. This means all the controls from what song is playing to how minutes are left in the song is visible on the tiny MP3 Player screen. I really like this feature because it gives me all the information about what song and album is playing on my MP3 Player. There is a FM Transmitter which gets a fairly decent amount of radio stations with sufficient amount of memory to hold a few songs. If you searching for an MP3 Player which can hold a gazillion number of songs. Then, this...
...

The Sansa 1 Gb mp3 player is a great little player without all the bells and whistles. The player is very small at only 3" long and 1" wide. It has a small screen to view options which are : play music, Fm radio, Recorder, settings, information, artists, album, playlist, equalizer, power, play all. The screen lights up in blue when the menu button is pushed so you can read it in the dark. There are stop, forward, reverse butoons as well. It takes a AAA battery which last a surprisingly long time with normal use . The mp3 player plugs in usb port easily and is easy to put music onto the player. There is also a headphone jack for headphones and this player gets descent sound as well. If you are looking for a player to take with you that will fit in your pocket or purse, that you do not want to worry about, this is the one to get. It is also kid friendly. My son has dropped this several times and it is very durable. He has had it for a year and there are no scratches, dents, or anything on...
...

This is an excellent choice for anyone still wanting to make the jump from Vinyl Records and CDs to their very FIRST MP3 player.

I owned this littlte item and upgraded to a 4GB MP3 player after...

I would highly reccomend anyone to buy a Sandisk brand MP3 Player, 1GB or at least 2GB when you're new to the MP3 game.

You don't have to spend over 100 Dollars for an IPOD simply for the APPLE BRAND

You can buy a Sandisk MP3 player and save money and use the left over money for other things..

The Sandisk MP3 player is very very very easy to use, you don't even have to read the Manual that comes with the box. Just plug it in, charge and download music.

The Sansa m240 is a great mp3 player to buy. It isn't very expensive, and it works great. It is perfect for a first mp3 player. I had one for two years, then i gave it to someone else and it is still working after four years. I never had to replace it or return it. It is small, and easy to use. There aren't a lot of confusing buttons, and the menu is simple. It really does work good, especially for the price. It uses regular AAA batteries, so you don't have to plug it in to your computer, which comes in very handy. The voice recorder and radio also work well. It is also very easy to download music to. If you are looking for something simple, that just plays music, and then I would definitely recomend this. It also comes with a see through case so that it doesn't get scratched. I really don't think that there is anything bad about it.
...

narayanambbs says "a mp3 player which is cheap but more costly for its features" about SanDisk - Sansa m240 (1 GB) MP3 Player

SanDisk MP3 players hit the scene in a big way with the 2004 launch of the Digital Audio Player and later the Sansa e100 series. With a motto that could be "Lots of features for less!" the memory giant's flash-based MP3 players appeals to the masses of thrifty consumers looking for deals. Now, the deal gets sweeter with the arrival of the SanDisk Sansa m200 series, which is jam-packed with features such as an FM tuner, WMA subscription compatibility, and up to 4GB of flash-based storage. If you don't mind a budget build, you can't go wrong with the value-rich m200 series. If you want to test out subscription-based music, the m200 is a good budget choice.
At 3.1 by 1.7 by 1 inches, the SanDisk Sansa m200 isn't the sleekest flash player around, but it's feathery light at 1.3 ounces with a AAA battery installed. Though the buttons are made of cheap-looking plastic, and the body feels flimsy, the overall presentation is solid. The Sansa m200 series has an ergonomically correct shape that flares...
...

This is a basic mp3 player. It's very cheap and follows the "pay for what you get" adage. If I accidentally jar it or drop it, it will turn off. When I turn it back on, it starts at the beginning of my playlist, rather than where it was when it turned off. It's also frozen on me a couple times, and I've had to take the battery out to get it to work again.

That said, it's not a bad player for the money. It holds a good number of songs and can play for a long time without recharging. Despite its downsides, I've been using it for almost a year....

Ok so I bought this through a website that offered it for $10. I got it and immediately loaded it with music. I absolutely love that you just plug it in and start downloading (no software to install). It holds plenty of music and uses batteries so you don't have to worry about charging it. The batteries I ahve found will last about 8 hours of continuious play. It takes 1 AAA battery. I am actually waiting for the site to put these up again so I can buy a couple more. My mom loves it and wants one of her own too. These would make great players for kids too because they are so easy to use and don't cost a bunch of money....

Even though I already owned a Creative NOMAD Jukebox Zen Xtra 60GB MP3 Player when I decided to purchase this player, the Creative Zen Xtra is large in size, bulky, and heavy. In contrast, the SanDisk Sansa m240 (1 GB) MP3 Player much smaller in size, lighter in weight, and generally more portable. Therefore, I picked up the SanDisk Sansa m240 to serve as my pocket-sized player to use during activities such as exercising, yard work, backpacking, etc. (in comparison, the Creative Zen is best for use in the car). The Sansa also uses flash memory instead of an internal spinning hard drive which is also important when picking a device to use during the aforementioned activities. Other nice features include: FM Radio, Voice Recorder, and a Stopwatch (the Creative Zen Xtra has none of these!).

The Sansa m240 uses 1 standard AAA battery and has pretty good battery life. It also has a removeable clear plastic case with belt loop which helps to protect the player. However, the case...
...
