The samsung instingct is a great touch phone for beginners and advanced users. It is a touch friendly phone that has a vibration feature that lets you know if you have selected an item or program. This phone has lots and lots of features such as tv, games, web browsing, blue tooth, speaker phone, camera, video camera calender, gps,poker,music,mp3 player you tube, yahoo, google, my space, auto save on phone numbers and much much more. I have had the phone for a little over a month now and am happier. My last phone was the HTC touch phone with sprint. I thought it was the best touch phone out there. Than i lost my phone and had to either pay a 100 dollar deductible or upgrade the phone on a 2 year contract and get the phone for free.I went with the upgrade. I will reccommend this phone to my friends and family and co workers as well. This will be my phone that i get for my wife this christmas and possibly my children for either b day or holiday comming up. I am happy with my samsung instinct
...

I do not reccommend the instinct to anyone. My boyfriend has one. It freezes all the time, its really slow, the battery is always dead in it. His pocket always calls me. Its very annoying. But it is very convinent that you can search the internet and watch tv.
...

The Samsung Instinct is a good alternative to Apple's Iphone. It has a touch screen for input and most of the features are intuitive. It allows you to list you speed dial by names, rather than having to remember which number they are assigned to. The Instinct also supports a graphical voicemail system. Incoming messages are listed by phone or by caller ID, if available, and are accessible by tapping the name/number entry. The OS comes standard with a variety of useful tools: calculator, web browser, email, text messaging, notes, calendar, etc. and several other tools can be downloaded for nominal fees. The camera takes decent photos for a phone. There is also a memory card slot so you can increase storage capacity or easily offload photos, mp3s, etc. The main drawback is that the web interface is clunky and fairly slow, especially if the signal strength isn't at least 3 bars or more.
...

The Samsung Instinct is almost the perfect cell phone. It has most of the same features of an Iphone, except it doesn't have the needed gyroscope so when you flip the phone sideways, the picture flips too. On the instinct the phone decides what you need to see sideways. Except when you're texting, you can decide how you want to view your keyboard. Also missing from the Instinct is the wide variety of applications to use for it. I have not yet been able to find true applications for the phone, such as all the games and facebook/myspace application you can get on other phones. It looks like it has facebook/myspace applications, but they are only links to the webpages. On the bright side, the webpage and video clarity is awesome. I will definitely by another one.
...

iriemama says "Samsung Instinct ok but not amazing. Could be better" about Samsung - Instinct Cell Phone

I purchased the Instince because I wanted something close to the iPhone but of course Sprint doesn't offer the iPhone. It's ridiculous that carriers restrict you to only their products because in the UK you can purchase any equipment you want and then take it to the carrier you want and hook it up.

I really wanted the new Google Android but of course Sprint won't have that for a while either. So I settled on this one. I was most concerned with whether or not it was java enabled. The sales person said it was but they are not knowledgeable and it reads javascript, but is NOT java enabled. Big difference. So, half the things I want to do with the phone are not possible.

The phone has some nice features, but doesn't have many options for a carrying case or anything to protect it. They have a case and then they sell you some crappy screen protectors that work like a sticker and scratch terribly after the tiniest touch. So now my phone is scratched up and ugly.

I can't use Google Street View,...
...

This phone has come in quite handy. I can text someone, photograph them and video them. I have set up four personal email addresses from which I can retrieve and send, and there is room to add more. I can open applications such as Word and Excel, and even view image files that are attached to an email. I can view breaking news from CNN.com and surf the Internet, going from one site to another.

There is a TV subscription that is optional and incurs charges that are additional to your telephone package. The radio stations that are available are free, however. You can use the phone like your MP3 and download libraries of tunes. You could name the library, by the artist (e.g., Billy Joel, Elton, John, etc.) or by the particular music genre (e.g., Jazz, Classical, etc.). There is also an alarm on the clock, and a calendar that to set appointments, which has an alarm that can be set to alert you so that you don't miss dates and times.

The Samsung Instinct is a good alternative on the Sprint network. I like the voice activation and use it to locate places all the time. It makes it easy to GPS a location. The TV feature is good to keep the kids busy when we are out and they get bored, but the battery life is not as good as I would like. It does come with an extra battery with a portable charger. It would be nice if there were more apps available like a regular PDA. It has automatic links for My Space, Facebook and You Tube. I can get news and weather in real time and can keep track of local movie theatres and their listings. The web browser has two settings for regular viewing and compact viewing. You can set up favorites and put them in the order you want them. There is a quick search feature in your contacts with a slide alphabet and a speed dial list for your frequent contacts. There is no feature to block unwanted calls but it does let you know who is calling visually and verbally. Not an I-Phone but all in all a good...
...

The perfect phone! Much better than the iPhone from AT&T/Apple. Sprint's Instinct has the best service, the fastest service, and the most reliable service. I have service everywhere and it never drops a call like other unreliable carriers. Very easy to use, very easy to navigate. Unlike the iPhone, your hands do not have to be drenched in sweat in order to use the touch screen feature. Its touch screen feature is based off pressure, not the static from your finger sweat. This also ensures that the instinct never gets gross and sweaty and smudgey. Very easy to use and very nice features. I love the sprint tv, the music, and everything it has to offer! The only con about this is the fact it doesn't have many applications like the iPhone. But I suppose that's totally worth while!...

I like my Samsung Instinct. I wanted a new touch screen but didn't want the service provider of the I-Phone. This phone is pretty comparable as far as features go. I only which the apps you can get on the I-Phone were compatible to the Instinct, there's an IheartRadio feature that I would love to be able to use on my Instinct.

The phone itself is pretty sleek. I can upload my music and listen to it as an MP3 player, watch television although it is delayed (it helps keep my daughter occupied), and the GPS has worked wonders for me (although TeleNav needs to update roads).
...
