I got the Samsung SCH-u340 at Alltel a little over 2 years ago and it was called the Samsung Snap. I don't use a cell phone very much so this has been an ok phone for me. It is just a basic cell phone. It doesn't have a lot of games. I don't use it to access the Internet or check e-mail or anything like that. It seems better than the Kyocera I had before it. It's a fairly small size but it is wider than some phones. It has an exterior screen that shows the time and caller id when a call comes in. With the speed dial you program a number and then when you want to call that person you just push and hold the number you associated the phone number with. For instance, my home number is programmed in number 2. So, to call home I just push and hold the number 2 and it will dial. It also has a phone book that you can program and call from. I don't have texting included in my plan so I have not sent texts with it. I have received a few though. It has a 1.3 megapixel...

Samsung sch-340u verizon cell phone. The phone itself is great. I have never had a problem. I wish the volume went a little higher. Also wishing it played polyphonic ringtones. Speaker phone works great. Has instant messengers but doesn't allow you to go online (not a problem with the phone, but verizon so that doesn't count as bad to me). Actually takes pretty decent pictures. I downloaded one to my computer and it was clear. Does require some light but not full sunlight or anything like some phones do. I love the blue casing but I would like to see it in other colors, especially pink because I think a lot more women wouldn't mind using a prepaid phone if it came in their favorite and most sought after color cell phone. The vibrate on the phone is really strong because even when I am upstairs and the phone is downstairs, I can hear it jiggling on my couch. I would definitely recommend it to a friend and have recommended it to many people, even ones in stores looking at which one to buy....

I got this phone when I first signed up for Verizon Wireless about 2 years ago. It has worked well since then despite being dropped numerous times, submersed, and generally abused. It comes equipped with a camera (not a good one, but it takes pictures). It also has speech recognition capabilities, but I haven't really used it much so I am not sure how well that feature works. It does not have web browsing capabilities, something I hadn't noticed at the time of purchase. I believe it may come in other colors, but I have only seen it in this purplish/blue color. It has a long battery life and seems to be virtually indestructable so if you are prone to mistreating your phones and do not require anything high-tech, then this phone will suit your needs. It is pretty much your typical, cheap phone. It makes calls and accepts text and picture messaging. I am looking forward to upgrading, but it did the job while I had it.

i loved the Samsung sch-u340. although it is not as fancy as some of the other phones it is worth what u pay for it. i got mine as a prepaid phone from verizon. it was only 29.99 and it came with a ten dollars worth of minutes when you activate. the phone. where else can you get a camera phone for that price that takes good pictures. i have no complaints....

I've been using my Samsung SCH-u340 for years now, and I absolutely love it. It hasn't failed me yet. It's very, very durable, it's a cool flip phone, and although it doesn't have ringtones, you can get ringback tones. It's a prepay cellphone, and it's also a camera phone with the internet and AIM/Yahoo/MSN on it, so you're getting your money's worth and more. And for a prepay phone, it's amazing. The prepay plans go by INpulse. It works differently than regular tracphones in that you don't buy minutes. You buy 15, 30, and so on, dollar cards. They cost the amount they have on it, and when you add them to your phone, just like you would with a regular minute card, by a pin number (which is very simple and easy to do), it adds that amount to your account balance. And the plan works like a regular cellphone plan, like it costs a certain amount of cents to txt, and there's a daily access fee of .99, 1.99, and 2.99 depending on your INpulse plan. The daily access fee works in that it only charges......

My mother bought me this Samsung cellphone as a birthday gift when my old phone broke.
Although I have had this one for about a year, I still have trouble using it. It just seems like there are so many different features to this phone when all I really need is to make calls, some text msging, and maybe pictures.
Unfortunately, it takes me about three hundred button pressings before I finally get there.
It's okay though, because it makes up for it with it's sleek and thin look, small size, and minimal space it requires. Plus the flip is a little more sophisticted than the bulky and front faced Nokia.
Nokia is much easier to use.
If Nokia and Samsung could just somehow merge together to come up with a sleek design, easy use, at an affordable cost - that would be my dream phone.
No major issues with battery life.
Nor with connection.

I do like the bigger buttons on the keypad.

I've read the instructions & still can't figure out how to use the speaker phone.

When taking a picture, can't really see what you're taking a picture of on the screen.

While in my pocket camera will turn itself on & take pictures of my pocket.

Phone doesn't always hang up when you close it.

This phone is not too complicated I really actually liked it it was a lot of fun to use espcially since it was my first phone...

I changed from ATT to Verizon. We got 2 new phones, both alike, the Samsung SCH-U340. We chose them because of their bigger, separated dial buttons that you don't have to use your fingernail to dial. Also, we chose them for their ease of use - I don't need to play games or get on the net, I just want to send and received calls.

They worked OK for the first month or so, then even when charged overnight, gradually the battery would not last as long. Finally it was to the point after 5 months that it would not hold a charge for a day.

We brought them back to Verizon. The techs there were very good about giving new batteries after checking the phones out (after all they were under a 1 year manufacturers warranty).

In only one month we are back to the same problem. Verizon this time gave us new phones, same model, Samsung SCH-U340 which were probably refurbished (Makes you wonder why they needed refurbishing).

As of today, the batteries...

The Samsung cell phone SCH-u340 works just fine for me. It isnt fancy but it does the job.. I really only like to use my cell for emergencies or mandatory calling.. I dont need email or internet although you can get that through this phone.. I can take great pictures to send to friends or family.. I have used this phone for years. It isnt too expensive and is perfect for my needs. sincerely,,Rosemary a Samsung cell phone user.......
