I got my Samsung yp- t9 in the middle of march last year and i think it finally died out on me. it's been over a year and a half now. it's august but i wanted to listen to some music today so it cut on. but when i tried pressing the buttons they wouldnt go anywhere. so im thinkin it probably just needs charging. but it was fully charged and it still wouldnt go to the options or anything. i hope it didnt die out on me bcause i just put some new songs on there last week and it's the only mp3 i have. guess im going to have to get a zune or a psp if its dead for good.

Taylor ( owner of Samsung yp-t9j mp3 player since last year in march)
...

I bought this phone for to work nights. The reason I chose the phone is because I think Samsung is a great brand and I have bought many different electronics from them and never been disappointed. Again I was pleased.

It has a voice recorder, fm player, good sound, long battery life (claims to be 23 hours, may not be that long but I have used it for hours at a time 3 days in a row without charging). It also is very compact and sturdy. It has a sleek thin look. Kinda looks like a cell phone.

This phone give you many options for sound and display. It also has a text viewer.

My biggest problem is that you can't expand the memory. And that it doesn't come with a normal charger. The usb cable that is included serves as a charger as well, which wouldn't be so terrible if you were able to charge and listen at the same time. The usb automatically connects you to the computer and there's no way to stop the connection. Fortunately that problem was easy and cheap to solve. I just bought an adapter...
...

I am someone who is technically challenged and this MP3 player was very easy for me to use. The menus are easy to read and understand. My only complaint is the software is a bit difficult to use and can be a bit frustrating. You can only charge it via USB however I found a converter to plug in an electric socket and am able to charge it anywhere now. All in all I have been pretty happy with it.

...

bitfish says "Superb alternative to the i-Pod" about Samsung MP3 Player - YP-T9J

I was looking for a small, inexpensive mp3 player for my workouts at the gym. An i-pod seemed a bit too costly for what I would use it for, so I checked out mp3 players on eBay. After doing my research, the Samsung YP T9 J seemed to be the way to go. It's small, has multiple features and is much less expensive than an i-Pod. I purchased a refurbished 2GB model on eBay for less than $50. 4GB models are also available for a bit more. I didn't think I would need anymore than 2GB at the time of purchase. Boy was I wrong. The video playback is great. I now wish that I had bought one with larger memory to load more video. The only drawback is that you have to convert the videos over to a proprietery codec in order for the unit to play them back. Ability to play WMA files is also a plus. Some people don't like this format, but I find that WMA's compressed at 64kbps sound just as good as MP3s compressed at 96kbps. This allows for more music to be stuffed into the memory. I know the......

Player is small and compact, but has a large screen for it's size. The screen is bigger than the iPod nano (1st and 2nd generation) and equivalent to the size of the new iPod nano (3rd generation). Buttons are simple and not clumsy.

Software is easy to use. Basically drag and drop. Has plenty of equalization modes including a stage setting that makes it sound like you're in a concert hall.

It does everything: music, video, games, radio, voice/radio recording, text viewing....
