It is very heavy-duty, and does not easily chip or scratch. I have had the phone for about a year now, and have dropped it quite a few times, and managed to not completely ruin the phone.</p> <p>It has lots of extras, as far as games, music, and organizing tools. Great for a first-time phone, or even for a replacement of an old phone. It has Bluetooth capabilities, and well as a built-in music player.</p> <p>It can hold up to 500 contacts, has an application shop, and even has a full QWERTY keyboard, when it slides out. It also has web capabilities, as well as IM and email as well.</p> <p>The battery life lasts for quite a long time on just one charge, approximately about a full day.</p> <p>I have never had any problems with this phone since I have had it. I absolutely love it! I love being able to text, IM, and surf the web all at the same time.</p> <p>I would suggest this phone to anyone who is interested in getting something new and fresh!</p>... I am the type of person that goes through phones like a kids goes through candy. I use to have to put out hundreds of dollars for new phones every few months. Ever since i purchased the gravity i have 1. dropped it in a puddle, 2. dropped it in a pile of show, and 3. dropped it in the toilet not once but twice. Even through all of that you would think that it would be water logged, but its not and its still going good... only issue i have had with it is that ever since i dropped it in the toilet the second time the battery doesnt hold very long, but oncei get down to one battery bar it typically can last a few hours before it starts to die. I have no major problems with this phone and hopeing once i upgrade my phone i can get the same one in a different color. It is stylish with white front and back and a pretty blue line in the middle. I LOVE THIS PHONE and would recommend it to anyone who has a hard time keeping phones in good...</p>... But since I have T-Mobile that was never going to happen! So when I went to the T-Mobile store to get a new phone I was really excited to see one kind of like the Envy!</p> <p>When I got my phone there was 2 colors to chose between, green and black OR the white and torqouise. I chose the white and torqouise one because it looks more girly.</p> <p>The phone is so easy to use and has everything i need in a phone. I love that I can text on the normal phone part or on the keyboard. It just depends on my mood which one I use.</p> <p>The keyboard is also convient because  if my predictive text doesnt want to spell a word then I can hurry and type it and Im good to go.</p> <p>The only thing I dont like about this phone is that you cant zoom with the camera. I take a lot of pictures and sometimes I need to zoom but I cant. :(</p> <p>Also I dont like the frames that are automatically there when you want to take a picture. If you dont want the frame then...</p>... However, no one can ever hear me when I'm talking to them on the phone. Whatever you do, do NOT buy the Samsung Gravity. It may look cool, but it's worth it to get another phone. The reason it's not very good at hearing is because of the way it has been built. The sound receiver is on the bottom, between a lot of plastic. </p> <p>There is also TERRIBLE batterly life. You'll have to charge it ever night, even if you don't use it.</p> <p>The full text keyboard is great for a person who loves to text, but if you're going to do that, you might as well get the tmobile sidekick.</p> <p> </p>... I have always had a simple talk only cell phone so when my little tech savy sister encouraged me to upgrade to a full keyboard texting phone I was more than a little weary. I must say I am so glad I did it! I text daily and at first thought I would never be able to do without the full qwerty keyboard but I have found that the t9 feature is super easy and fast to use. Even as little as the keyboard I have had no trouble with the key to thumb ratio. I text and use the organizer application everyday. The organizer has a calendar with a built in reminder system and place to make notes, along with the normal calculator and alarm it has other fun features like a tip estimator and world clock. The camera takes great pictures and has and editor so you can change the coloring and add cool affects. I use the mobile web everyday and the one thing that I wish this phone had is a larger screen. One other draw back is if you recieve many texts you have to constantly be erasing...</p>... Fri, 25 Sep 2009 00:47:45 GMT http://www.viewpoints.com/Samsung-Gravity-Cell-Phone-review-87d1 alyssamommy 5 http://www.viewpoints.com/Samsung-Gravity-Cell-Phone-review-7fac2 <p>If I had to choose just two qualities for a cell phone, it would be usabilty and durability.  My Samsung Gravity has both.</p> <p>It has to be durable because, no matter how careful I am, I have to face facts: I'm clumsy.  My Gravity may have a few chips after dozens of falls in the last year and a half, but it still works good as new.</p> <p>And any technology of mine <em>has</em> to be user-friendly.  I'm not computer illerate - far from it - but if an electronic toy is hard to use, I simply won't use it.  My Gravity was easy to figure out all the features and benefits within a few hours:</p> <ul><li>There's a shortcut camera button on the side, great for spur-of-the-moment photos</li> <li>Volume controls are on the side too, easy to turn off the sound quick for a meeting</li> <li>Another shortcut button opens a new text message, and a related feature shows the contacts you've sent messages to most recently</li> <li>Multiple phone numbers can be attributed to a single person (not all phones do that!)</li> </ul><p>I do have a few things I'm not thrilled...</p>... One of the main features I was looking for in a new cell phone was a qwerty keyboard. My husband and I text a lot when he is at work and can not make calls on his phone and I was tired of having to double and triple click keys to get the letters I wanted to appear.  I do not use the text help program on my phone because it usually does not bring up the correct word so I would have to type everything out.  With my new Samsung Gravity phone, the qwerty keyboard makes texting a breeze.</p> <p>The second feature I like best on my new phone is the camera.  I often forget to bring my digital camera with me when I go places I may want to take pictures, but with my new phone I can take pictures anywhere.  Also it is capable of storing the pictures on a memory card that I can then use to transfer my pictures onto my computer or have printed.</p> <p>Overall, I really like my new Samsung Gravity phone, but the menus...</p>... The included manual for the phone states the phone has a standby time of 5 days and talk time of up to 6 hours. NOT. I have hassled with this phone since the very beginning. The battery dies within HOURS of a full charge. Since tmobile refused to deal with the malfunction i went and got a new battery, just to find out i was having the same problem! Even with just strictly standby time....i fully charged it and within 12 hours it was beeping out my low battery warning. So here I am now just waiting to upgrade to something preferably outside of samsung brand. A few things also quirky, you can't change your message tone...kinda like you can download ringtones. most other phones you can download message tones. Not on the gravity, you are just stuck with the standard samsung tones. You also cannot save more than 30 text messages in either your inbox or outbox. constantly having to delete them. Software...</p>... I am writing a review on the Samsung Gravity Phone. My old phone was a Nokia and the camera was toldly cool. It had night vision. I would give this phone a 4 in the rating scale.</p>...
