The Samsung Eternity in my eyes has been a pretty outstanding phone. From my previous phones, the camera quality is the same along with the video quality. It definitely has a lot more features such as apps, multiple vibrations to choose from for both phone calls and text messages. It also features a very cool LED light which can be turned on or off and comes in multiple colors. The light starts blinking when you receive a phone call or text message making it easy to identify when you are receiving a phone call or text. The memory storage on it is pretty large for photos and contacts, but when it comes to text messages, it can only hold 500 messages which to some seems more than sufficient, but fo rme I find myself constantly deleting messages on a daily basis. The internet on the phone works fairly well, good speed while on it, but some sites which i wish to view do not load such as my one email account and my one school website. The texting on the phone is pretty easy, it...
...

I have had my Samsung Eternity cell phone for about seven months now. I love it!!! I have not had any problems with it. It has a touch screen that works great. The QWERTY keyboard is big enough that I can easily type messages without hitting the wrong character. I have added an extra memory card so I am able to store tons of songs, pictures and videos on the phone. It takes pretty good quality pictures. The flash is not the greatest but it still is good quality. You do have to purchase any games, themes, backgrounds, ring tones or other items that you want to add to the phone. But my wireless provider offers several packages to be able to choose from. I have never had a problem with the battery running down. It lasts even while using it as an mp3 or playing games.

This phone has several other features that come in handy such as a calculator, alarm clock, tasks, memo note, timer, etc.

Overall it is a really good phone.
...

I am using this Samsung Eternity for the past three months. When I first used it I felt really great. But after I tasted the ease of use with Iphone, i could not rate this high. For a first time touch screen user this is a great phone. But phone is stil not very responsive. You got to click many times to work. I does not have a single click dialiing... We have to go to contacts and dial or from dialled calls. It also lacks lots of application unlike iphone.

Also we need to pay for every application that we can use with this phone. nothing is free like iphone where you can add many application for free....

This phone does not have a wi-fi in it which is another disadvantage.

Camera to my surprise was good in light, but not very good in dim light. But pretty good i can say.

it si really east to get to the Internet and navigate, buts if the page is really wide, its hard to move the screen around the see the whole page. you're suppose to hold and drag the page to move the view around, but...
...

I have to say that of all cell phones I've owned over the years, the Samsung Eternity is by far my favorite. I'll admit, I can be a bit of an airhead when it comes to cell phones. This one is so user friendly. It has better touch response than the iPhone (which I have also owned) Flip it to the side and you have a full QWERTY keypad that makes texting a million times easier than the "*push*push*O(wait) *push*L(wait) *push*push*push*D " way. The camera is great and you can add a memory card to have tons of additional memory. You can download music, play games and all the features of cellphones today. It's lightweight and flatter that I would expect. it's durable, I have dropped it dozens of times and it still works great (although I do not recommend that because it can cause the screen to break) The only downfall I have is that the back tend to pop off and the battery pops out when it's accidentally dropped, just a minor annoyance, you'ld think I would learn by now. All...
...

Ok, First of all the Samsung Eternity is the first touch screen phone I have ever owned. I purchased it about 2 weeks ao and so far I am loving it.

It has a very large screen which is very bright. It allows you to change the font size and stle to whatever is more convinient for you. At the bottom of the screen it has 3 preset menu options...the Dial icon the contacts icon and the menu Icon. I have yet to figure out if it is possible to change those. Also on the main screen there is the widgets menu that is customizable. Then at the bottom of the phone the is the standard Call back and end buttons. Very nice.

It comes with a GPS app which there is a monthly subscription fee of 9.99 a month with At&t. I does not however have an FM radio that I was used to with my Sony Erricson W580 phone. The sound quality while playing music isn't so great either. I does sound much better however with Stereo head phones.

It is a multitasker phone which means that you can do many different things at once...
...

The Samsung Eternity is a good phone, though it hasnt been out long I did notice that ATT is no longer offering it so maybe there are much better phones and I just dont know since this was my first smart phone. I loved the CV, the internet, and the Qwerty keyboard. I wish that you could change the alert tone for messages bc the little sound it makes is hard to hear. Also it would be nice to have one of those pen like tools because sometimes the keyboard is touchy. Last I would say it needs more memory bc I was always having to delete messages so that new ones could come in. I cant wait to try the new one I saw out called Samsung Solstice!
...

I would recommend this to anyone looking for something similar to a IPhone with out having to sign up for two years with a data plan!...

The Samsung Eternity is the best cell phone I've ever had! I love the full keyboard feature. It makes texting quick and easy and the built in emoticons are easy and fun to use. Another fun feature is the frames on the camera. The kids love to use it to put funny faces on the cats and each other! One of the best features is the ablility to move from screen to screen so easily. It also comes pre-loaded with a few games that us older folks can play and appreciate like Ms. Pac Man! My daughter likes to use the handwriting recognition to text her dad. She thinks its neat that she can draw letters and the phone know what letters to type. The only downside to having all the great features like GPS and TV is the that you have to pay extra for them. The one thing I'm really not happy about, but wasn't a deal-breaker, is that is doesn't come with the adapters to sync it to my computer to download music to it. I have had a few complaints that it's hard to hear me when I'm talking...
...

I got this phone when my contract with ATT was up. I upgraded to this phone from a pocket PC (which was acctually a downgrade). The pocket PC was a slider/smartphone. It was pretty fat but I liked it. I was told that the Samsung Eternity was not a smartphone but that the internet on it was cheaper than a smartphone internet. That was the selling point for me. I use it all of the time for my business. The battery life is great. It is small enough to fit in my pocket without looking bad. There are a lot of really good functions that help me too. Lost in New York City, I used the Yellow Pages Aplication for free to get walking directions to the Jacob Javis center for New York Comic Con. I was very happy that I had it then. I actually recomended the phone so well that mom girlfriend and my sister both got the phones also. We got protecters for pretty cheap at a local flea market to protect the phones themselves. I recomend that.
...

With long (natural!) fingernails, most touch screen technology is a hindrance. I find myself fumbling to perform even the most basic of tasks with the side of my pinky finger. Thankfully, the Samsung Eternity has a sensitive touch screen that accurately registers taps from my nails, and includes an excellent calibration feature to train itself to correctly register my touch.

The interface is slick and easy to use, including a brilliantly designed, customizable widget bar. You can select which widgets you'd like easy access to arrange them in the sidebar or pull them out to the main screen.

The Eternity's display is nothing short of beautiful. Bright colors and crisp imagery highlight the large, durable touch screen. The sound is clear and crisp, and I've had no issues with dropped or lost calls on the AT&T network.

Get a data package with this one, and subscribe to Flo TV to make full use of the Eternity's multimedia capabilities. The one screen keyboard is quick and easy for messaging....
...

When i started looking at new phones, I noticed the Samsung Eternity phone right off the bat. I remember seeing the commercials about this paticuliar phone and I just thought that it was the best thing under the sky. I liked the feature on the touch screen that alows you to turn the phone sideways and then the keyboard will appear in order to send a text message. I do not like the fact that the ohine has a full touch screen on the front of the phone and which i thought was cool but come to find out its not that great. The touch screen does not come with any sort of protection for the screen and in a short 3 nobths the screen had become dull and very scratched to the point that it makes it very hard to see. There is one other issue that this phone has that i am not happy about. In the settings you can touch the "Software Update" icon to have your phone get any new avaolable updates if needed but once again, when i tap for the updtates...i get nothing! I guess att found a slight...
...

I did my research on touchscreen phones and my search led me to the Iphone and the Samsung.

Loving my Mac Book Pro I leaned heavily on the side of the I phone. I really loved many of the applications on the Iphone also.

HOWEVER in my research the Samsung Eternity is a better made product, that stands up better in drops and scratches. It also has a better camera and sound.

I couldn't bring myself to pay for the $30 for the Iphone service on top of my regular stuff.

I currently own the Samsung Eternity, this has been the best phone I have purchased thus far. The phone is great for internet usage, but for texting it works great as well. The phone it's self is all touch screen and I purchased it at a much lower price the IPhone. With the eternity you are not limited from downloading or bluetooth like you are with the IPhone being that it is an Apple item. Over all I really love the phone!
...

I got my Samsung Eternity around Thanksgiving of 2008. I had the basics figured out within the first hour of turning it on, and was an expert after about a week. The touch screen is great, and the only problem I have had with it is that when using the touch keyboard, sometimes the wrong letter gets typed. Other than that, no problems whatsoever. This phone has all of the features people are looking for, and it does them well. The web browser is easy to use, the mp3 payer is functional, the 3.0 megapixel camera is pretty awesome, although there is no zoom in the standard shooting mode. One of my favorite features is the widget bar on the main screen. Although there is a set group of widgets that can go here, it is very convenient to have your alarm, bluetooth, music player, calculator etc. just one touch away. You can also download apps, although they go into a different folder. I have just begun to explore this feature, with Google Maps being the only app i have downloaded so far.
