jstapp101405 says "Not a bad cellphone for the money." about Samsung - Behold Cell Phone

I was forced to get a new cellphone when my old one died, never to be resurrected. I'm not particularly tech- savvy, so I found this a bitdaunting. I didn't want to have to spend weeks learning to use a phone your average 8 year old could probably figure out in 10 minutes. I asked for something along the lines of the Dash I had previously. The salesperson said that for the money, the Samsung Behold was a good choice for me. With the rebates, the price wasn't terrible.

It takes some time to get used to a touch screen. After some toying with it, that was no problem.

The Dash was Windows based, which was less confusing for me that the operating system on the Behold, but again, after a few days, it wasn't so bad.

The battery life is fantastic. I don't use my phone all day long, but after a few days worth of calls, texts and pictures, I still didn't need to charge it.

It was easy to transfer files from my computer, use the music player, to set wallpaper, set ringers/pics for different callers,...
...

I wanted a new phone and was way overdue for an upgrade. I really wanted a cool touch screen phone but didn't want to pay big bucks for one. After doing a lot of research online, I found the Samsung Behold. My husband got it for me for our anniversary, and I love it! It gives me everything I need in a cell phone in a cool, touch screen package! My only negative is that sometimes the pictures I take aren't very good -- kind of blurry.
...

I got this phone with such high expectations of it and they fell far short for me. One of the biggest attractions of this phone was the camera.... and yet for a 5 megapixel camera, the pictures are attrocious!!!!! I'm a photographer and they always say the best camera is the one you always have with you.... your cell phone. I wanted something to snap pictures with so I don't have to carry my huge camera around with me all the time,... and this cell phone camera was supposed to do that for me. It falls far short.

Then we have the picture viewer. Another reason for my purchasing this phone. I wanted to be able to share my portfolio of photographs with people... and yet when I try, the phone goes off on it's own! I start scrolling through images and it decides to whiz through them all on it's own at a hundred miles per hour and there's no stopping it. It's terrible!!!

Phone quality is good. The video camera is acceptable and it's nice that my son can watch movies...
...

The Samsung Behold is an awesome phone. When you get this new phone you will simply be amazed. The phone fits comfortable in your hands, not to bulky just right. The Samsung Behold has a big screen with great color that is very vivid. The Behold can do it all. Easy to step and get ready to use. No need to read the instructions the Samsung Behold is not to hard to use and get use too. You can download your music onto the phone and use it for ring tones, message alerts, etc.... The phone has a 5 megapixel camera thats right I said 5. The pictures are awesome. When I get my pictures develope you can not tell the pictures are taken from my phone thats how good they are. I only wish they could have the date stamped on the picture thats the only downside I see. The Samsung Behold has it all. Very fast on the 3G network. Never had any problems with lost receptions or dropped calls. The Samsung Behold comes in 2 colors Pink and Brown. So if your looking for a great and eye catching phone check...
...

Last weekend my husband and I finally broke down decieded it was time to upgrade our cell phones and replace our 2 year old regular flip and slide ones for somthing new and more modern. We looked at many different phones . Its really amazing how many different ones there really are, So many Gizmos and gadgits, applications and the list goes on.But anyway as we continued on with our weekend, and the seemingly endless task of finding the right phones at the right prices, and not to mention,a cellphone plan,., that would fit our life style, and monthly budget. But the most important thing about a cell phone for my husband was that the cell phone had to have all the bell and whistles AND IT HAD TO BE EASY TO USE. That turned out to be my BIGGEST challange. I almost just gave up after looking at countless cell phone stores and a few shopping malls, I decieded to turn to the trusty INTERNET and a search engine. After surfing the net and searching the...
...

Rivera0205 says "Samsung Behold. Good Sound. Clear." about Samsung - Behold Cell Phone

I received the Samsung Behold from T-Mobile as a gift for my birthday. All I can say is I love it. I feel like this phone was made for me. It's perfect. I love the touchscreen. It has many features. It is very fair size, not big, not too small. it takes very good quality pictures. I downloaded some videos on my phone and the picture and sound are remarkable. I love the fact that you can assign different icons or pictures to a caller. It has bluetooth, speakerphone, voice commands, etc. Beacuse the whole phone is touchscreen, you have a bigger screen which makes viewing everything bigger. It's fun and great to use. It is very fast when sending or receiving a text message. Easy to transfer files. The only thing I don't like is that it has no wi-fi and because the whole phone is touchscreen, if it freezes (like most phones do) it is totally unusable until you fix the problem. Other than that, I love it. I would buy it if I didn't get it as a gift.
...

The Samsung Behold is a good choice if you are looking for a touchscreen phone. I don't pay for the internet services on the phone, so I don't know about any of those features. It is great for text-ing because it has a full keyboard on the screen when you turn the phone horizontal. The phone is easy to use, has a good camera, video, and MP3 player. I have a clear plastic case and screen protector for it which I would highly recommend. I like that the phone is on the larger size of cell phones these days because it is easier to hold onto and talk on and the "keys" are not too small. The battery life is good and it charges quickly. Overall, it is a great phone for someone who is not looking for a "work" phone and who doesn't quite care enough to take full advantage of something like an i-phone.

The only complaints I have is that the screen is hard to see in direct sun light and sometimes I accidentally mute the call with my cheek because of where the mute button is on the screen...
...

The samsung Behold is a really great phone! This phone works very well for a touchscreen. The "buttons" are the right size for a finger and does not give me any problems while texting which, in my opinion, makes it one of the best phones out now. The camera is lovely and has many different features about it that make it the best camera that I have had in a phone. Some being the many different modes you can take the picture in like mosaic or panoramic. It also has a great flash. The music player is also waht sold me. It will play in the background and with amazing sound. I can read my books on this phone well and keep track of everything efficiently. The GPS in the Samsung Behold comes in really handy too! The only complaint i have about this phone is that is does not have wi-fi and that there are not many colors too choose from. I like having colorful phones and choices :). Those are the only bummers i can think of right now, but besides from that this is a really terrific phone.
...

The Samsung Behold from T-Mobile offers a great touchscreen phone with an above average camera. Its great that you only need to carry one device. The 5.0 Megapixel camera includes flash and editing capabilities. The camera is a little slow when writing to the memory card. The SD micro memory card allows for mp3 storage as well as photo and video storage. I have used this phone several times to watch downloaded movies and television shows on a plane with no issues. The MP3 player allows for playlists as well as random selection. Java applications are easy to install and there are several free download sites on the web for both games, applications, and video. The Behold is also equipped with GPS and comes with TeleNav for an additional subscription fee. However, I use the FREE AmazeGPS application for turn by turn directions directly over bluetooth. This is a great phone for anyone who wants a nice touchscreen phone with plenty of capabilities. The camera makes it an indispensible...
...

The Samsung Behold reminds us quite a bit of the Samsung Instinct. It's not quite smart enough to be an iPhone clone, but it's still a good phone in its own right. In fact, in terms of call quality and calling features, it's a great phone. But Samsung still hasn't nailed the touchscreen interface. In some areas, like the QWERTY keyboard, they've done a great job, and it works well. In others, like the home page widgets and the problems we had with scrolling and moving through lists, the problems make using the phone a real chore. The phone has a very nice music player, but lacks a standard headphone jack, which seriously hobbles its potential. It uses fast networking on T-Mobile's new 3G network, but the Web browser lacks the deeper options needed to unleash its full potential. It's a flawed device, but not fatally flawed, and hopefully Samsung will work out most of these TouchWiz UI kinks as more of these phones come to market. Release: November 2008. Price: $150. T-Mobile has just sent...
...

Samsung Behold is a totally touch screen phone, so some people may find it a little confusing and hard to handle. I love how the touch screen feels when you touch it. you can use it as a regular keypad or turn it sideways and use the full qwerty keyboard. it has a 5 megapixel camera and take excellent still pictures, like most cell phones it takes a while to capture. The flash is very bright. you can customize your screen as you wish. It also comes with an mp3 player and the speaker has good volume. it has several useful applications, including a calculator, currency and volume convertor, alarm clock. with the alarm clock you can set up to 5 different alarms and chose how often you want to make them go off. I have the pink behold and the only real part that is pink is the sidess, the screen is all black and the camera side is silver, that was a little disapointing since i wanted the whole phone to be pink and it really does not show that it is pink at first glance.
...

I've had my Samsung Behold since January 2009 and love it more and more each day. it has all the right features and I love the touchscreen. I got the behold because I wanted touchscreen but did not want to have to have internet service, like with the G1.

The only downsides I can see are the touchscreen sometimes 'times out' for a second or two while texting. then it catches up. and the camera takes some getting used to. once you press the button to capture a picture, the picture doesn't actually get taken for a couple seconds. so if you have a toddler running around, chances are you won't get the picture you were trying for. one solution to this is to change the mode to continuous. then the camera tkaes 9 pictures in a row and you have a better chance of getting the shot.

other than the tow things listed above, the phone is great. games play very well. the screen is large. almost as big as the phone itself. sound quality is great on calls both in the earpiece, speakerphone and bluetooth....
...

I have owned the T-Mobile Samsung Behold for about 4 months now. I love it. It's a touch screen phone. It allows you to use qwerty keyboard if you turn it to the side, or regular number screen if you hold the phone upright. The touch screen is very easy to use and can be used with big fingers or small fingers. It has a great camera with a bright flash, and can work in even dark areas. It has lots of nice applications, including a GPS navigator (which costs extra). The web browser is great. The phone has a very large screen, which I like. The speakerphone feature is great because it's very loud. It has a cool menu bar on the left of the screen which you can personalize according to what features YOU want on the screen at that time. It has a music player which you can add lots of songs to the phone and play it like an mp3 player. It can record videos. It's got voice-recognition technology where you can speak a command.
...
