We run a small B&B in Ashland Oregon (Ashland Mountain House, since you asked), and beside wanting to serve really good coffee to our guests, coffee is a very important ritual in my life. (I grew up a block from Peet's first store in Berkeley). When Costco put the Saeco Magic Comfort Plus Espresso Machine on sale (still very expensive) I bought it on a semi-lark ("honey, we could use this to make coffee for our guests"). Well, it is now five years later and over 10,000 (yes, ten thousand) cups of coffee later and it has never given me a bit of trouble. It has been totally reliable. (It has an internal counter that tells you the total number of cups it has served). I love this machine and recommend it without reservation.

One suggestion: it does sometimes dribble water/coffee. We've placed it on an aluminum cookie tray to catch the occasional leakage.

Oh, yes, one more thing, it makes a terrific cup of coffee. Our guests love it, too!
...

I love coffee! But going out for lattes is expensive! And my little $30.00 espresso machine was very worn out. This machine isn't cheap, but it sure makes coffee FUN! And overall, I would say that it is a bargain consdering the cost of an average grande latte!

And don't get this just for the specialty drinks. It produces the absolutely BEST mug of black coffee...with freshly ground beans for every cup!

By far, this is my most enjoyable kitchen appliance!

...
