I use both ziploc and glad brands, like ziploc better. It's durable and dependable. I feel the ziploc brand bags are thicker so they not easily broken and the double zip really keeps the food fresh. Highly recommended!...

We are always on the go so Ziplock bags are a must in our house. We buy in bulk, come home divide and conquer by freezing in portion sizes our meats and other freezable items in Johnson's handy Ziplock bags. They come in a variety of helpful sizes.

We have found that they are helpful for ice cream. Once ice cream containers are opened, our freezer does a job with freezer burn. Once sealed in a zip lock - wow! It stays creamy and soft and most of all scoop-able!

We have also found that zip-lock bags are easily found in most grocery and discount stores. They are not a specialty item and they beat trying to wrap in other types of materials that do not self seal or depend on you to try to seal all of the edges yourself.
...

One Gallon ZIPLOK Freezer Bags with double seal. I use them to ice my sore knees but when the ice melts the bags leak most of the water out. This seems to be a recent phenomena - don't recall it from years ago. And this is leaking from the bottom - I have checked this with the bags totally upright (seal at the top)
...

When it comes to storing food products for an extended period of time, I don't think that there is a better brand out there than Ziploc. They produce high quality storage tools that help to keep your food fresher for a longer period of time. It is easy to think that they are all made the same, but I think that Ziploc works better, and tends to last a lot longer than some other brands I have used. The specific product that I am reviewing from Ziploc today, is the Ziploc Freezer Bags with the FreezeGuard Seal. They are bags which you place food in, and then store in the freezer for a period of time specified by you.

These Ziploc Freezer Bags are purchased by us in a Economy Pack, which hold 63 of the storage bags. Each one of the bags will hold one quart of food, so you have plenty of space to move around in there. They also offer bags that will hold a gallon, and those could be as useful for a family to use as these ones. The difference only exists in the size of the product, as they perform...
...

kid-kansas says "Who needs a vacuum contraption when there is Ziploc?" about SC Johnson Ziploc 1 Gallon Freezer bags

We all know the value of buying in bulk and saving money. I buy my meats in bulk at Sam's Club and I separate it into meal sized portions and freeze it. Of course a lot of people buy those vacuum sealers but why waste your money when there is Ziploc Freezer bags!

Why Ziploc?

I buy my meat in bulk and also my Ziploc 1 Gallon Freezer Bags, after all it's only fitting for saving me money. The double zipper lock on the bags is supposed to be sufficient but I go one step further. After I separate the meat into dinner sized portions I zip the bag almost all the way, then I stick a straw into the bag and seal off the best I can with my fingers and suck the air out of the bag. Although I don't get it all out I do get 95% of it out of there, thus doing my part to avoid freezer burn.

The less air in a package when frozen means a lessor chance of freezer burn on the meats. Since I am trying to save money buying in bulk, why take a chance ruining the meat because of freezer......
