This is one of the best vacations you can take. I go on a Royal caribbean ship at least once per year. I was on the Granduer last October and had a great time. We had to miss 2 of our stops due to a hurricane wiping out 1 island, and a storm closing in on another. The captain did a great job and was able to get us into another port. The only problem we had were the nasty people screaming at the staff for missing ports that they wanted to go to. I think we should have put them in the dingy and gave them a compass. Royal Caribbean cannot control the weather, just like a hotel can't on land.
...

Had a wonderful trip to Bermuda sailing from Norfolk, VA. Royal Caribbean's Grandeur of the Seas came across to be an older ship, it creaked alot in the middle of the ship, which made you wonder how old it really was. Service was good, food delicious as always but I wished we were in port more than a day & a half. If your taking a cruise for the first time maybe this is a good one to take, as for me I like at least a week.
...

Grandeur wasnt quite as grand as i thought it would be. This was our first experience on a cruise ship. While the ship was lovely, the service wasnt all that great. The crew members are constantly asking you if you want to buy a drink. I actually carried my own drink around so that they wouldnt ask me. The room service wasnt what i had thought it would be. I have read all these reviews that say how the crew member assigned to your room caters to you... i certainly didnt see it... did i have a bad room staff by chance? Basically, he came into the room and made the bed and gave us fresh towels everyday. Then would return in the evening to remove the decorative pillows from the bed. Other than that, he did nothing else. I have read alot of reviews where people have made mention of the room staff putting their stuff away and cleaning up the room. Ours did none of that. We never saw him but one time when he introduced himself on our arrival. The food was not very good. They made great efforts,......

My first experience with Grandeur of the seas was so wonderful, that 3 months later I went back on the same ship. I still talk about the representation of the food, the wonderful taste, the exellent service.even as a solo traveler,I was never bored, there is so much to do .and I still had sometimes a little quiet time, I really enjoyed the funny games in the evenings. I just had a blast.

I also have to mention the cleaning crew, they did a great job,My cabin was always superclean.

I recomment grandeur of the seas to anyone and I will be back later on this year!

...

This was the best vacation my wife and I ever took! The Grandeur of the seas was a beautiful ship. It was a 4 night cruise from Tampa to Cozumel. The service was outstanding, the food was prepared perfectly, and the atmosphere was laid back! I would recommend this cruise to everyone!...

First cruise ever and got a great deal on a balcony suite which made this an awesome trip. Took the ship from Tampa to Key West, 4 hours in port there was not nearly long enough! Cozumel was the next stop, glad we selected an excursion on ATVs through Punta Sur Park because the area by the port is pretty small. Our excursion was cool, saw salt water crocodiles, a very small Mayan ruin and an old lighthouse. Lunch wasn't provided, however, so on a 5 hour trip we received a bag of chips and a can of soda. The ship itself is one of the smaller and older ones so there were signs of wear and tear but the crew is fantastic! Tons of activities and they were all fun. Dining wasn't 5 star or anything but good. Buffet had lots to offer, good quality and I am picky about buffets. Recommend the Tampa-Key West-Cozumel trip for someone skeptical of cruising because it's short. I really didn't think I'd like cruising at all and I am already looking to book the next one. I just got back on......

Grandeur of the Seas
by Linda Taylor
Western Caribbean
January 3, 2008
Our cruise started on Jan. 3rd, 2008 in Tampa, Fl. The day we left was very cold and windy in Tampa. We were hoping for much better weather ahead. We headed to the Windjammer for a little bit of lunch and then went to see our seating for dinner. We were happy with our table which we planned on sharing with friends we were meeting later. Then we started off to find our cabin. We picked an interior cabin for our cruise because we do not spend much time there and for reasons I will get to later we were so glad that we did not spend the extra money for a balcony cabin!

I had planned ahead and packed our clothes for dinner in our carry-on, but our luggage arrived just about 5:00. Dinner in the Great Gatsby Dining room was wonderful. Our waiters were Osbin and Rodney and they were very attentive and remembered our drink orders and our likes and dislikes. Osbin even got my husband to try a few new things, something I can very...
...

Best trip you can take. once your on the ship, all you need to do is to sit back and relax. I've been on a few cruises with Royal Carribean and during the first day if you plan out your week, your all set. Best time to use the pool is when everyone else gets off the boat to sight see. Not a bad idea if you've already been to a specific island. Service is wonderful. You could not ask for anything more. I would reccomend this cruise line to everyone.
...

I cruised on Grandeur of the Seas, destination New England and Canada. This was a superb itinerary, with many interesting, charming, and even quirky sidelights. The service on the ship was friendly without being familiar. The ship was kept clean and spit-polished. The food was excellent, varied, and abundant. I'd recommend Grandeur of the Seas for its comfortable atmosphere, entertaining activities, and well-organized shore tours. It's a great vacation value for those who like to cruise!
...
