I took my honeymoon in Late September 2008 on the Freedom of the Seas out of the Port of Miami. I think this is the nicest ship afloat (of course I haven't seen the newest behemouth, Oasis of the Seas), but it is truely a remarkable ship. The cruise director was hilarious and definiatley tried to do everything in his power to make it the best vacation ever. Every staff member on board seems that they are only on the ship to cater to your every need. It is amazing how friendly these people are to everyone they come across. I think Royal Caribbean really knows how to make your vacation the best. ( I have also been on the Empress of the Seas, and the Explorer of the Seas as well, both equally as amazing a vacation!).
...

Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas is a five star ship loaded with fun activities and exciting itineraries. Whether my husband & I are traveling to the Eastern or Western caribbean, we stay busy during days at sea climbing the Rock Wall, riding the Flow Rider, or ice skating. We're not into miniature golf or sunbathing - we like to be active and RCL's amenities keep us moving. For those that like to have a more relaxing vacation, plenty of pools, hot tubs, spa appointments & lounging await!

The staff is friendly and truly wants you to have a great time. You can enjoy dining in the casual restaurants, the main dining room or have the choice of 2 gourmet restaurants. American, Italian, Asian, Indian, Vegetarian is all available - and remember, you still have desert to leave room for!

Booking activities through the ship is easy and convenient. If you don't mind paying more, this is a safe and easy way to go. Also, if your tour is late getting back to the ship & you did not...
...

If you're 9 or 90, I'm sure it's wonderful, but "the biggest ship" isn't big enough if you want to see something (anything) different every day of your vacation. If you don't need to see or experience anything different, and just want to relax, get a hotel room near home and save yourself the money and time, eat better food, and be on your own schedule. Frankly, it wasn't worth a dime, and it cost thousands. I wouldn't go back on this ship for free. We almost (and should have) booked a room at the first port of call and left the ship for some real vacation . . . what you want, when you want it, for thousands less. Gamblers? Go to Vegas . . . ship casinos are always "cold" and drinks cost you. No one wins a dime, and since there is nothing else to do, everyone who doesn't gamble is gambling. Eaters? Go to Italy. Two weeks there will cost you less, you'll see and eat more, and not be sorry you spent a week trapped on a ship that boasts a "435 foot" promenade. That's about...
...

Freedon of the Seas is a stunning ship. Beautifully decorated, great service all over the ship. Service with a smile at every bar and restaurant. Specialty restaurants are a must to visit. This ship not only has a rock climbing wall, but also includes an ice skating rink, surfing pool, miniature golf, a main street in the middle of the ship for parades. Freedom also has a sister ship...Liberty of the Seas. One all inclusive great vacation.
...

One nurse described the amount of illness on our Freedom of the Seas cruise as "the worst she has seen in 8 years". You will never hear about it in the press as the Dr. visits were complimentary and they would provide you with no copies of your paperwork. We had a skeleton crew due to the illness and many were working 19 hour shifts.

Once you were diagnosed with the Norwalk Virus or Norwalk-like Virus you were quarantined to your room for 48 hours--your traveling companion is quarantined for 24 hours whether they have symptoms or not. You are given free pay-per-view movies and free pop and candy from the mini-bar. You are reimbursed for the excursions that you miss. If you decide not to visit the Dr. and choose to stay in your room to recuperate on your own, your cabin steward will report your behavior. If you do not leave your room for 24 hours, the medical staff will demand a stool sample. If you do not provide a sample, they assume you are ill and you are quarantined...
...

My husband and I took a Royal Carribbean cruise to the Eastern Carribbean last year and already have another cruise booked for this year. We were surprised at how elegant the Freedom of the Seas was and had no complaints about our cabin. We have taken a cruise with another line and we could not believe the size of our cabin. We also enjoyed that it was very luxurious and decorated with care. The cabin stewards were amazing! They were very helpful and made sure that your every need was taken care of. The service in the dining rooms was outstanding and we felt pampered. Most of the food was fabulous and there was a lot of variety. The pool area was spacious and beautiful. We enjoyed the adult only pool area but went over to the general pool when they were conducting activities. All of the activities were humourous and fun. The cruise director was extremley entertaining and very funny. We also enjoyed all of the shows and parties. It was nice to have a casino on board as it reminded......

We took advantage of all that the cruise offered;spa, workouts, yoga, swimming, eating. I could go on and on about the service. Everytime we went back to our room, we got a new towel surprise.

We are looking forward to our next romantic getaway.

...

On Sept. 14 we had the greatest vacation on "Freedom of the Seas" We are going back in March. The service was excellent, Bernadette our rm. steward the best (I forgot to lock the safe with alot of jewelery ) it was all there later. Ken Rush couldn't have been better, Maike Santos was hilarious from karoke,Recardo MurphyEXCELLENT head waiter, Vernold Samuels teriffic ass't waiter. I hope to request them in March. We learned our lesson (Carnivals Valor was awful last July) Of course the shows were wonderful, ice skating especially. We are going on a 4 day cruise in Dec. Navigator. The only downfall was the beef, especially charging extra for a better choice. Pizza place had delicious food. Loved the promenade deck with all the shops & book nook. Coffee shop had the best sandwiches. I could go on but honestly RCC is the best. See you soon!!! From Kathleen & Raymond Russo ......

This was my first time going on a cruise. My husband and I went away with 4 other couples. We had the best time on Freedom of the Seas! The food was excellent. I am very picky about what i eat and how it's presented...and this was terrific. There were also tons of activities on the boat to keep all of our interests. I spent a few mornings in the gym. The view is spectacular overlooking the ocean. There were several pools and live entertainment with games for all ages. The only downfall was the surf wave pool. It was very difficult and kind of dangerous. However, everyone in our group did the rock climbing wall and had a blast! The rooms were also very nice. We had an interior room with a window facing the promenade. Every afternoon we were able to watch the parade from our bay window. They were very spacious considering we had an interior room on a boat. My husband, who has cruised quite a bit, said these rooms were larger than compared to other boats he......

One of the most beautiful ships I've ever seen. It took me the whole cruise to see the whole ship. There is something for everyone at every age on this ship. The kids have a section practically for themselves. There are so may pools on this ship they are never over crowded. The boarding procedures was very quick. Every employee made me feel I was a rock star. I left a comment at the front desk stating they needed recliners for the balconies for people who wanted to do private sunbathing and was amazed that before I returned to my room I received a recliner. The food and drinks were fabulous. There were lots of activities for every age group and things to do even if you didn't want to visit certain ports. The Crown & Anchor frequent cruiser club is one of the best in the cruise business....

Amazing ship, excellent entertainment and amenities, first rate cruise director; HOWEVER, the food; specifically, the dinner entrees were DISGUSTING. This was my 12th cruise, and the quality of the steak and seafood was EXTREMELY POOR. THe Gala Buffet was discontinued... BIG Mistake. Royal Caribbean should be ashamed of themselves serving skimpy, cheap lobster and fatty, tough steaks. If your looking for better food, try Carnival....
