My husband and I went on a 7 night Southern Caribbean Cruise through Royal Caribbean for our honeymoon. The ship was Adventure of the Seas. When I first saw this boat my jaw hit the ground, it was huge!! We walked onto the ship and it was grand. First thing we saw was the mall down the center of the ship, it was beautiful. Every part of this ship was beautiful and well designed. Our room (we had a balcony room) was small but perfect. The more we explored on the ship the more we learned about it. On the back to the ship there was a rock climbing wall, roller skating rink, minnie golf course and basket ball court. In the middle of the ship there were 2 outdoor pools and 2 spas. then inside was an adult only area with another pool and spa. then You went inside and down a deck or 2 and there was the Mall and one of the theaters. We saw many perfomances/shows in here, it always made for an enjoyable evening. On the bottom deck there was an ice skating rink where there was an ice show and...
...

AirTraveler says "Hold onto your wallets" about Royal Caribbean - Adventure of the Seas

My family took our first cruise this past week on the Adventure of the Seas. Our cruise was the 7 day Caribean cruise with stops at Barbados, St. Lucia, Antigua, St. Marten and St. Thomas.

Overall it was OK. The staff are great, the ship is immaculate and the food in the dining room was above average.

Here's the negatives:

Hold on to your wallet.

After paying for your airline ticket and cruise fees you will be bombarded non-stop with sales pitches for art, watches, booze and jewelry; all of which are overpriced when compared with any major city n the USA.

If the on-board attacks aren't enough the moment you step off the ship the locals go at it with even greater fervor. I felt like a success just getting through the gauntlet of taxi drivers we were then funneled through these "Diamonds International" stores everywhere we went, no bargains there.

Additionally the stops were too short with the ship casting off at 5PM which allowed for NO time to really enjoy the island's true culture. But if you......

This was my first cruise with Royal Caribbean. We took the Adventure out of Barcelona Spain. It was great! We visted ports in France and Italy. The crew onboard were great and very helpful. I enjoyed my first experience with RCL, so much so that I booked another cruise with them almost immediately after returning home. RCL's service is much better than Carnival's. There is one major difference that I noticed between RCL and Carnival, Carnival is known for being the "fun" ship (lots of partying) RCL is more of a low key enjoyable time. Carnival puts their disco club right smack in the middle of everything, and RCL tucks it away, which is much nicer because if that is what you are looking for then you will know where to find it, but you dont have to be bothered by it if you dont want to be....

This was my fourth cruise (third different cruiseline) and I could not be more pleased with the cruise. I always make my decision based upon itinerary and I was pleased with most of the ports. Curacao did not have too much to offer but I know that it makes sense to stop there after Aruba. The ship itself was beautiful, even though this is a mega ship you often wondered where the other 3,000 or so people were at since other than the pool area while "at sea" you never felt very crowded. Plenty of stuff to keep you busy on the ship, I almost missed out on rock climbing since I didn't have enough time to do everything. Food was great as always, though I have very simple tastes so you may or may not agree if you are a true foodie. The room was of course small but they did their best to provide the space saving features to make it all work. The only downside besides going home was all the extras, but this is the case with any cruise; you just have to be careful that everything adds up and...
...

This was the second cruise I have been on, but the first Royal Caribbean Cruise. My boyfriend and I both agree that this was the best vacation that we have ever taken and we are both big travelers. The trip which included the rooms, entertainment, food, etc. was a great price. If we chose to see these destinations seperately then we would have been paying at least double. The staff was always very courteous and attentive. If there were nights that we were too tired to get ready to go to dinner, you could call room service and they would bring you anything you wanted off the the menu that they served in the actual dinning rooms. The alcoholic drinks were priced the same as any other bar you go to, which was a surprise. For a ship that had 3000+ people on board it seemed relatively empty. The only parts that were consistently crowded during the days at sea were the pool and windjammer cafe. I would highly recommend this cruise to anyone who is looking for an exceptional......

Had a great time! The staff was friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed eating, the ice skating show and the rock wall. The islands were of course beautiful. Loved that they had an adult pool on the ship, no kids allowed! Second time on a cruise. First was Norwegian Cruise Line. Preferred Royal Caribbean. Planning another cruise and want to go Royal Caribbean again....
