Well I have had my Roomba for about 5 weeks now. The battery seems to be good, and the charge stays charged for quite a while. I have never had to put it back on the charger to charge it back up while in the middle of cleaning, so that is a plus.

What I didn't like about the Roomba was that it seems to clean the same area 4 or 5 times and then misses other spots. The spots that it didn't get were being more in the middle of the room, where it doesnt seem to bump into anything. It got the edges of the room very well, that is where it went 5 times during the cleaning, but not in the middle of the room. I was disappointed about that. But what it did clean was cleaned very well, even the room that was not cleaned five times. I used it once when I first got it and I was amazed with all the dirt and dust and hair that it picked up. Of course it says I do not have to empty the container until 3 vacuums, but I wanted to see what one vacuuming got out of my carpet. I was quite shocked with all...
...

I've got roomba 400 as a Xmas present. It is perfect when it works. It did a great job cleaning under a king size bed and sofa. I used it twice a week on each floor. It started having a problem three month later with wheel/front sensor just three days affter the last date for store return. Called customer service, they adviced to clean it with dust buster and reset it, but the problem persists. One month passed in communication with customer service, roomba is not working properly. I have dust bunnies under my king size bed. I will return it eventually and get my money back, then get old style vacuum cleaner. The idea i great, the performance is poor.
...

While visiting my son, I seen the Roomba advertised on t.v. Well, it just seemed like the miracle I was looking for so I went straight to the phone & ordered it. Could not wait for my little robot to arrive to clean while I worked. As I got it all set up, I thought this is going to be great.....put it down & let it do the work. NO WAY! It got tangled up in my drapes, it got into my wiring, it feel down the foyer steps though it claims it will turn if it gets on the edge of something, it got tangled up in the bedskirt as it tried to go under the bed & I finally said "Okay, you've done enough damage....go home". So, I boxed it back up & returned for a full refund. I truly wish they would work this thing out that it would work but it just does not pick up the dirt the way it says it will & was a constant worry while running to the point that I couldn't do my other work. It was like having a 2 yr. old going through the house to see what it could get into....

I've owned this little Irobot Roomba for two years and love it so much that I bought my mother-in-law one and then this year purchased a second one for the second floor of our home. Works best on hardwood, pergo, tile, also can handle rugs. It does a pretty decent job on carpet too, but I use the regular vacuum once a week since this can't get in the corners and probably not as deep as my regular vacuum does. I love to just push the button and walk away while it does the vacuuming for me....

I didn't know if I would like the Roomba or not but I love it. It goes easily from hard floors to carpeting and even stops at the stairs so it doesn't fall down. Great technology. It fascinates everyone who comes to our home. Runs for about an hour and recharges in the same amt of time. I just run it in one or two rooms a day and voila no more vacuuming....

There are several things that happen ,that one can call lifechanging. Finding God, getting married, having children, buying a home, getting a dishwasher and buying a Roomba. He is wonderful . I recently bought the docking station, programmer, and doorway thingys and I plan to program it so my dear little singing buddy will vacuum while I nap,and then put himself away, for his nap (or to recharge ,if you prefer accuracy). He got hung up on a throw rug one day and he said, "uh-oh,beep".I got a lump in my throat, that isn't what I used to say if I got hung up while vacuuming. So he is making me a better person.

He comes with a tool to clean his brush ,and I do use it . I had never cleaned the brush on my upright vacuum, and when I checked it ,hair was wound tightly around the brush,so I can honestly say my Roomba cleans better than my upright. He also cleans closer to the wall than any vacuum cleaner I've owned.
...

I have had my iRobot Red for about 2 years. My 5 grandchildren named him George after I added decals of eyes, nose and a bright smile. George is great on the tile and usually gets a daily work out. I had to replace the battery about 3 months ago, but feel I got my money's worth out of the first, original battery that came with the Roomba.

The only drawback is that it is loud.
...

Pros: Convenient, easy to use, the roomba is very cute and lifelike.
Cons: Can't deal with thick carpets.
Roomba Red doesn't come with some convenient attributes (ex. automatically returns to charger base, remote control, scheduling device) of its next generations. But since our apartment is small, we didn't find these additional attibutes practical, so Roomba Red is a great fit for us. It cleans well and save us lots of time.
...

This is an absolutely amazing little machine, while it will take longer than just vacuuming yourself, it does a better job than my regular vacuum, and, I come home to clean floors. Definitely get the scheduler with it, as that is what makes it so amazing. I wake up in the morning, tidy up, leave for class, and while I'm in class, they go to work vacuuming the floors. When I come home, the floors are clean, and I have time to relax and focus on other things.
...

Yes my wife actually named the dang thing and I thought I was the Redneck!! We have had ours for about a year and a half now and it still works good as new.

Rocky the Roomba

My wife saw this at Home Depot and figured she just had to have it so we brought it home with us. We set up the little eye beam device that keeps it in a room if you like and set him up to charge. It took about 4 hours for it to charge up before we could try it out. She puts it to its test and the dogs went nuts, barking and chasing it around the room. The cat was the only smart one and she went and hid...lol

Now I wasn't really expecting this little thing to do much but you could see the path it took pretty easy. No not just from the little swirl marks on the carpet either. I actually saw pet hair disappear in its wake. When it bumped into something it just turned the other way and kept going. When it encountered the beam on the little room divider thing it turned its course once again. In about 20 minutes it had......

Being a stay at home mom of 2, at times it seems all I do it clean clean clean!

The Roomba came recommended to me. Being a busy mom of 2, I am always looking for household items of convenience, so I decided to give it a try. I must say, I am very pleased with my purchase. My children have even taken to it as part of the the family and scream, "ROBOTY!" whenever they hear it turn on :)

It surprisingly maeuvers very well around the corners, under the entertainment center, and over the gazillion cords my husband has lying under there. It will on occassion get stuck on things such as the corner of our bathmat or a small forgotten toy under my daughters bed. But, for the most part, it does a wonderful job, scooting all over the house in a random pattern, picking up after us. Its amazing how much junk that things find on the floor and emptying it is pretty easy. No bags needed.

I still keep my old Hoover around just in case I have a big job that needs suck power. But for the...
...

My mother-in-law has the iRobot Roomba Discovery SE model vacuum. It is amazing! The robot vacuum cleans her floors effortlessly. It is fun to watch as it seemingly wanders aimlessly over the floors avoiding any walls and furniture in its path. When it finishes its job you realize that there was a method to the aimless wandering since it sucked up all the dirt in its path.

The Roomba has a built in sensor that allows it avoid furniture without ramming into it. The same sensor also keeps the Roomba from falling down stairs. I have watched the Roomba transition from the carpet in their living room to the tile in their kitchen and back again without any hesitation.

The Roomba's battery remains charged for approximately two hours. If you set its controls on the maximum setting the Roomba with work until its battery is almost dead and then go to its charging dock for a recharge. Otherwise, the Roomba will vacuum until it senses that your floors are clean.

You should empty the Roomba's dust bin...
...
