My fiancee wanted this for his birthday and I thought wow another type of cooker that will sit in the cabinet and never get used (the slow cooker, the steamer). Well arent I the surprised one. He could hardly wait to get it out of the box. Right after we set it up we just HAD to go and buy a whole chicken for him to roast and let me tell you that was the juciest golden brown most succulent chicken I have ever eaten. It was absolutley delicious. Couple of days later he made a bone in pork roast. It took alittle finesse to put it on the spit but boy oh boy wasn't that absolutley finger lickin' good as well and this thing is sooo easy to clean you practically just rinse it under hot water and your done. (maybe a slight exageration). Anyway next we are going to try lobster or maybe shrimp or scallops in the basket that came with it hopefully they'll turn out just as delicious as everything else has. And you also get not only the rotisserie but you get some recipes as well as these awesome...
...

I bought the Ronco Rotisserie Oven a long time ago and I have suggested it to so many people over the years! Especially new brides on their registries! It is such a good kitchen appliance to have. The best time of year to use it is in the summer in my opinion. You can still cook without heating up your entire house, when the weather is so hot outside. The feature I like the most about a rotisserie oven is that it doesn't dry out food as much as a regular oven does. It's tagline is "Set it and forget it!" Meaning, the book comes with the amount of time you need to cook different foods depending on its weight, you just set the timer and it almost always comes out perfect and juicy because it turns the food keeping the juices in and cooking it evenly on all sides unlike an oven that keeps one side down and you have to go check it half way through to turn it over, or you have to worry that it is too high up or too low in the oven. This is one item every kitchen can't be without! Oh...
...

The Ronco Rotissire Oven is so wonderful and very easy to use. Whether it's chicken, beef, or pork, you'll be amazed by how juicy and full of flavor your meal will be. try it once and I promise you, you'll want to use it every day. My favorite food to cook with it is a nice pork loin. The best part about it is you don't have to keep checking on it. You just set the timer and walk away. I love mine so much I even cook hot dogs in it. Sure, it might take a little longer, but once you taste the flavor it savors, you'll never boil with water, you'll never have to scrub pots and pans after eating. Clean up is so easy. Next Christmas you won't have trouble coming up with ideas for gifts. You'll want to get everyone of you friends and family one. Of course you could keep it a secret and just tell them you've been taking cooking lessons. It's take great.
...

I bought this for my boyfriend a few years ago. I ended up using it more than he did. it's great for rotisserie chickens and turkeys, ribs, shish kabobs and we even cooked salmon and steak in it when we ran out of propane on the outdoor grill! It's a little big messy to clean...but what isn't when you're cooking a gourmet dinner? Well worth the investment....

My parents loved their Ronco Rotisserie so much, that they gave my hubby and me one for Christmas a few years ago.

I've never made a whole chicken in it, but I have made whole turkey breasts, large roasts of pork loins, and a ham once. I love this product for big items like these. I wouldn't drag it out for regular every day stuff, like chicken or steaks. Its too much of a hassle to clean for the everyday stuff. And we enjoy grilling or other methods of cooking.

I love that you can just marinate, set it up, and let it rip. I washed mine thoroughly first because my mother said the first time they used it, it gave off a terrible smell. Now they only use theirs on a table just outside the door. I have always used mine inside. After a thorough soapy washing, my rotisserie worked beautifully right from the beginning. No offensive odors...just the delicious smell of cooking. Yum! Either outside or inside the rotisseries have both worked well, and up to our expectations. ...
...

kid-kansas says "I Converted my family with this!" about Ronco Rotisserie Oven

I found my Showtime Rotisserie at Walmart in the clearance isle and decided it was time to buy me one. I had been looking for a while but didn't want to shell out the $100 for one, Walmart had it knocked down to $59 so I grabbed it. I have been using it for about 6 months now and I love it.

My First Experience

No sooner than I had it out of the box I was setting it all up to fix a Boneless Leg of Lamb that I picked up when I bought the Showtime. After reading the very simple instructions I placed the Lamb on the spit, oiled the little cradle where it spins on and set the timer according to the enclosed booklet. I then injected some garlic in the roast and slid the cradle into the slot.

Now my family is rather picky when it comes to meats but I love lamb so they were gonna try it anyway. I could eat the whole thing anyway if I wanted too but I was hoping it turned out to where they liked it. Being curious I kept getting up to check on the Lamb as it spun and cooked. After only about 30......

The Ronco rotisserie oven is everything and more the informercials say it is. I watched these informercials for months and finally broke down and bought it. I have used it for over 5 years and it is still great. The best turkey ever and chicken burgers steaks. It does anything. Steaming vegetables on top while cooking your entree.

I told my mom and sister about it and they immediately went out and bought one. I made our Thanksgiving turkey in it and needless to say I am the official turkey baker....

sophi says "Frees up your oven" about Ronco Rotisserie Oven

I was given this item as a gift, and have really enjoyed it. My family loves the the perfectly done chicken. Best of all when making large meals it frees up your oven for other cooking. While there are a few drawbacks-- the outside gets very hot and will melt plastic if left too close. I find that putting a chicken on the rotating spit can be a bit tricky, as it needs to be well balanced when in operation. Also the door is rather loose so you need to take care when handle it so it does not fall off. Although, I tend to dislike and refuse to buy anything that requires more cleanup (chicken in pyrex in the oven is much easier), I will make an exception for this this item. It does a great job. In spite of the fact that fat drips into the drip pan, the chicken is still moist and juicy with a crisp crust.
I just bought the large rotisserie that will accomodate a turkey and will use it for Thanksgiving. It will be great to have an availabe oven.
...

Cooking can be an arduous task if one doesn't have the right equipment. Some foods are easy to prepare by simply placing them on a flat cookie sheet and popping them in the oven. But other foods are best prepared by heating in a different fashion, with the heat source placed at a different angle than that provided by an ordinary oven. This is where my Ronco ST4000 Showtime Standard Rotisserie & BBQ comes into play. It helps cook meats and other foods more evenly with its rotisserie action.

Appliance Commentary:

Ronco is a company whose name is synonymous with television infomercials. The sales pitch on this commercials is direct and simple: That Ronco products are just the thing that has always been missing from your kitchen and that they can perform tasks you never before thought possible, transforming your kitchen and elevating your cooking skills to a new level of expertise.

I used this appliance several times during the two years I owned it. The cooking results during that time were...
...
