Being from Wisconsin, we've got our fair share of beers to choose from. Rolling Rock in general is a success story of a small brewery gone national. It reminds me of the small brewery we have here in Central Wisconsin - the Stevens Point brewery. Rolling Rock Green Light is my first choice after a local Wisconsin beer....

I have givin this beer a couple of trys, but have never liked it. It goes flat the second that you open the bottle and the beer is one step away from being air. I tried it once it came out. And then a year or so later just to be fair. But I would have to say that if you are in a store and the only thing other than this that they are selling is motor oil, will give me the 30 weight....

GrapeApe says "Limited calories, limited taste" about Rolling Rock Green Light

I'm not a beer snob. I will try and drink almost any beer under the right circumstances. I enjoyed Rolling Rock when it first became mass-produced. However, I don't have the same feelings about Rolling Rock Light. While I initially thought it it was nice to have a lower calorie option, I believe the folks at Rolling Rock sacrificed taste when they reduced the calories.

I don't mean that the taste became worse. It's almost nonexistent in Rolling Rock Light. Rolling Rock was never one of the more full-bodied beers to begin with; its low-calorie sister is so diluded that it almost seems like bottled water going down.

The one thing about Rolling Rock, in general, is that the green bottle does not allow it to age well. Check dates before purchasing. Green glass does not filter light well, and light ages beer. For some beers, aging is acceptable. For most of the mass-produced beer here in the U.S., aging produces a very skunky aftertaste.
...

I have never had the original Rolling Rock, so I can't compare the two. I'm not really a conosuierr of light beers, either - I typically stick to my Coors Light. Rolling Rock Light has a crisp flavor and is best served cold. It's a light beer, so don't expect too much taste....

I love the original Rolling Rock. This however is nothing like it. I will never order it again. It has no flavor, like drinking water. It may be low carb, but unless its completely calorie and carb free (which it's not) it is not worth it. I can think of any number of better ways to drink calories. For low carb beers I think Mc. Ultra Amber is my favorite. ...

BayouBengal says "Rolling Rock Green Light: The Lightest Lite Beer" about Rolling Rock Green Light

I'm not a big beer fan. I never really got into the taste and usually when we go out or atend a social occasion, I will choose to drink a mixed drink over a beer. However, sometimes a beer is just the right choice for a quick drink after a long day at work, especially if it is icy cold. This was the reason and how Rolling Rock Green Light came into our refrigerator.

Rolling Rock Green Light beer is bottled in 12 fl. oz. green colored bottles. Each serving contains 83 calories and only 2.4 grams of carbohydrates, .7 grams of protein and 0 grams of fat. That's low enough in calories for anyone counting calories! Rolling Rock Green Light is bottled by Latrobe Brewing Company, St. Louis, Mo. It is advertised as a premium light beer with a crisp and resfreshing taste.

Taste/Flavor

I found Rolling Rock Green Light beer to be a very light brew. As far as calling it crisp, I'm not quite so sure. However, light it is! The aroma of this beer is also practically non-existent. It has......

Bryan-Carey says "Beer was Never Intended to be Low in Carbohydrates" about Rolling Rock Green Light

Rolling Rock once produced a light beer product, under the lucid title "Rolling Rock Light". The popularity of light beer made it essential to produce a lower- calorie version of the company's regular beer, and the management of Rolling Rock knew they needed to respond with a light beer of their own. Today, the same phenomenon is occurring with low carbohydrate beer. And, once again, Rolling Rock has followed suit. Its new product is Rock Green Light, a low carb beer product brewed to compete with Michelob Ultra and the other beers offering reduced carbs to satisfy the demands of this growing market.

Beer Commentary:

Rock Green Light pours to a light yellow/golden color with a crystal- clear body. The nose of this product is odd, reminding me of the smell of plastic, cardboard, and perhaps rice. The foam level seems lively at first, but it falls flat on its face within seconds.

There is very little to note about the taste of Rock Green Light, which shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone....
...
