My mother bought me my Rival crock pot several years ago for Christmas and it has been awesome. I work full time during the day with the regular running with my child to different activities and this is a huge help. The ease of cleaning is great as well.

I purchased this small, 2.5 quart crock pot for my college apartment, and am storing a larger one at my parents' house. The larger crock pot of the same brand is extremely useful and has never given me any trouble.

However, this smaller crock pot heats up very quickly, and will usually cook food in half the time the larger crockpot will. Of course this makes sense due to the decreased surface area of ceramic to heat, but I hadn't thought of that, and I wish I had known this before I purchased this product.

When I checked on my first overnight oatmeal in this pot after four hours of cooking (recommended cooking time: 8 hours), all of the liquid was gone. In another hour or two, it would have been burnt. Fortunately, adding more water did the trick and it was able to cook the oatmeal without further incident.

Basically, because of how quickly this pot heats up this is a good product only if you can check on it every three or four hours or so while cooking. Otherwise, pur chase a larger model,...

I love my Rival crockpot. I prefer to cook, but on those really busy days I can throw a good meal in it and have it ready for when we arrive home. I feel so much better doing that than eating out or ordering pizza. We don't use it often, but it's so handy it's worth the space it takes up. I also love that I can rinse and toss in the dishwasher to clean.

The Rival Crock Pot is such a LIFE SAVER!!!! The past year I lived in an RV for over six months while we were building our house. Needless to say cooking was very difficult in the RV with a small oven heated by propane. There were alot of long days working outside on the house and little time inside for cooking. That's when I got my 4 quart Rival crock pot. "The rest is history." I was able to cook delicious meals large enough for five people in the crock pot. And dinner was ready to eat and still warm when we would come in from a long day of working. Boy did coming inside smell good! The recipes were very easy to prepare for the crock pot. The different timer settings with the warm feature were GREAT! It was also very easy to clean. Simply unlock the glass lid and remove it from the base. Then lift the base out and clean with warm soapy water. If there were tougher stains I simply soaked in warm soapy water alittle longer and then it always washed clean. ...

This slow cooker is so great. My Father-in-law bought this for me for Christmas. It has TOUCH BUTTON settings on it that include 4 hours, 6 hours, 8 hours, 10 hours and warm. The inner pot come out and is dishwasher safe, which I personally love! The lid is glass so you can view your food without having to take it off and letting all the heat out. The lid is also dishwasher safe too! It has a nice lengthy cord which I love due to counter space being very little. This Rival Crockpot cooks my food without burning it. I never have to worry about it getting over done because it has a special feature. If after the hours you set it at is over it will AUTOMATICALLY switch to warm, so that you dont come home to have to heat it back up again. So for example if you set it for 8 hours and the eight hours is up, the crockpot will switch over to WARM! Now how is that for convenience! I thought the Rival crock pot was great until I discovered one day that it was not on after four hours. I had to throw out my chicken and all the vegetables I had prepared. When I turned the knob to low setting apparently it had not "clicked" and so was not on. Without an indicator light to show it was on on this could happen again! Also when cooking chicken according to the recipes given the chicken is coming out very dry. I wish I had a better crock pot.

The Rival 5 quart Crock Pot Stoneware Slow Cooker is one of my favorite items in the kitchen.

First of all, it makes for an easy meal. Just throw the ingredients in and let it cook while you go about your day. It has three settings, warm, low and high. With low you can slow cook your meal all day or switch it to high for cooking in less time. The warm setting keeps your meal warm while you are waiting to serve.

The Rival Crock Pot comes with a small cookbook that is easy to follow and provides for great recipes with cooking times listed. The crock pot comes apart so you can clean the pot easily without worrying about damaging the electric parts to the cooker. There are no crevices to the pot so it is easy to clean also.

There is also a lid latch that comes with some models that allows you to transport the contents in the slow cooker without spilling. It attaches easily across the lid and is also easy to remove.The handles on the unit also make it easy to carry or move around the kitchen.......
