CoriRenee says "Colorstay Minerals, it sounded good... " about Revlon Colorstay Mineral Powder Makeup

I used to use Revlon colorstay liquid years ago and it wrecked havoc on my acne!! Slowed healing time and ugh, what a mess. So when I saw they were releasing a mineral foundation, i was ecstatic!!

Ran right out and bought it.

Unimpressed to say the least... Talcy; pasty; doesn't last long; makes skin appear dry and shows flaws WORSE than without makeup (whhat?!?!) Reminds me of the old fashioned loose powder sold in the large containers with powder puff... remember those?

The packaging is a whole 'nother issue... The brush is STIFF and actually hurts my cheeks and sensitive areas, like around the eyes...Doesn't wick up the foundation like a good kabuki would and should... The concept was right on with the twirly brush contraption.... but it didn't work out, in my opinion.

My skin type is: medium toned; semi-oily; Acne prone; acne scars; blackhead prone; sensitive; etc... There are much better (purer) minerals on the market that I'd recommend... Even OTC minerals......
...

givingtree says "It's the budget-friendly mineral makeup, available everywhere." about Revlon Colorstay Mineral Powder Makeup

I was quickly running out of my Bare Minerals, and enjoying the idiosyncracies of postpartum skin. So, I'm not comfortable going out without something on my face for that extra polish. CVS was offering a buy-one-get-one-free promotion on all Revlon cosmetics, so I decided to take a chance on the Colorstay Mineral Foundation.

It turned out to be a fantastic decision, one that I will make again when I run out of my current supply. The application is a little bit different than Bare Minerals, in that the brush is housed in the lid. The jar contains a sifter plate. So, all you need to do is extend the brush, swirl and tap it into the sifter, and buff it onto your skin. I find that the coverage is equal to what I got with Bare Minerals; the texture is also similar in its softness.

There are some differences between Revlon Colorstay Mineral Foundation and Bare Minerals. While the coverage is quite good, I do find that it goes on just a little bit more "powdery" around my eyes. It does not settle...
...

gourdlady says "Not a fan" about Revlon Colorstay Mineral Powder Makeup

For years I have bought Bare Escentuals but it is so expensive I thought I would try a different route. CVS had the Revlon Colorstay Mineral Foundation on sale and I had a coupon, so I purchased it. I was very disappointed. First I hate the brush. With Bare Escentuals you load your brush then buff it into the lid and tap off the excess. You aren't able to do that with the design of the brush and jar. There is no way to "lighten the load" on the brush. The make up is very thick on the skin. Very powdery, not natural at all and it was heavy. It actually enchanced tiny wrinkles. Maybe with a better design on the container and brush it might be better, but until then I won't be purchasing this item again.
...

Not very happy with this product. As a woman in her early fifties, I have normal skin, and yet I found this product to make my skin feel really dry. It seemed to seattle in lines on my face, making me look even older. I would highly suggest not using this product close to ones eyes, where there are lines around the eyes. I occassionally use this on my cheeks where there is too much redness, and in sun damaged disscolored areas of the face. When I want full coverage, I prefer a liquid, or whipped foundation.
...

Revlon Colorstay Mineral Powder Makeup
This is by FAR the best foundation out there! I'm 25 years old and have tried just about every kind of foundation out there. I have combination skin, although its more on the oily side. No matter what I tried, by the end of the day, my face always felt oily to the touch. I could only imagine what that was doing to my pores. I finally tried this, and its amazing! It gives natural looking coverage, it covers my blemishes well, but feels like I'm wearing nothing. At the end of the day, still no oily face! My friend suggested I try the Loreal mineral foundation, and it was horrible! My face felt like I had heavy makeup caked on, and I still had to follow it with a powder. I also noticed more blemishes. Since then, I've switched back to the Revlon Colorstay, and I recommend it to everyone. The only drawback I would list is, the brush that they give you is small. I keep a round, shallow dish with my makeup, and I just tap some of......

What the label states...

Loose powder foundation that combines pure, lightweight minerals that are good for your skin and ColorStay® longwear technology that lasts for up to 16 hours. This medium coverage foundation provides a color that won't fade all day making your skin look both healthy and flawless, no matter how long your day is.

Makeup is oil-free, fragrance free and non-irritating.
Provides medium coverage in 8 beautiful shades, with SPF 10 protection.

With all the mineral craze on the cosmetic scene and being a faithful user of the Revlon Colorstay Foundation, I thought this would be a great alternative for the summer. Unfortunately all it did was emphasize the lines around my eyes. It also dried my skin out and I applied moisturizer prior to putting it on. Maybe I'm not made to wear mineral makeup...?
...

The Revlon Colorstay mineral makeup is very nice for summer, or any warm climate. The container is nice, the brush clicks open, so it does not get bent bristles. The makeup itself is very blend-able, and comes in a wide variety of shades. It really does last all day, and doesn't begin to feel greasy or itchy. It's a reasonable price and lasts a long time as well....
