Like Redken color extending conditioner, the shampoo works really well. I've read reviews where you don't have to use shampoo with conditioner and that may very well be true. But I know that this works on my hair and I'm loathe to take the pair away from one another. I learned the hard way by not using my Redken Shampoo that my color would fade faster and my hair would be less healthy.

I stopped using this because it's expensive (though honestly for good reason and you can find deals; you just have to look hard!) and tried the over the counter things. They faded my hair faster in 8 weeks and it was so funny that my stylist pin-pointed it the second I went to see her. She said "Your hair has faded so much faster than before. Are you using the Redken?" I of course was forced to say no and again learn the hard way!

It's great to buy this and the conditioner in the liter bottles because you can usually find a deal for them together. They truly do work, at least for red hair, which is what I...

Many years ago I began to color my hair because I wanted to see how I liked myself with a color other than what I was born with. Now I continue to do the same, however for the purpose of covering all my grey! For the last year I have been using Redken's color extend shampoo and have enjoyed how it extends the time between colorings. Now I can wait until my roots have grown out enough to be covered instead of having to color more frequently to keep all of the surface grey covered. It contains UVA & UVB filters for protection against processed color fading, cranberry oil to increase processed color vibrancy, ceramide for strengthening the hair itself, and a fade resistance complex to keep the processed color in the hair shaft. When used with the Color Extend Sun conditioner, this shampoo is a great way to repair your hair after a summer of sun.It goes on rich and thick and deeply moisturizes your hair. Don't expect a head full of lots od lather. It has more of a creamy, silky texture and a nice, clean smell form the mango oil in its formulation.

I am fast approaching age 60 years and I had noticed that my hair color was fading faster . I just thought it was my hairdresser was using but found out that it's my age!!! She recommended I use Redken Color Extend and so I purchased a bottle even though it was considerable more expensive than I have paid in the past. I wash my hair twice a week and was so surprised just after a couple of washed how much better my hair felt. It was shinier, not so frizzy and just felt more healthier. I thought maybe it's just me who's noticing the difference but was surprised when I recieved comments from work colleagues and some of them have now tried the product for themselves. I used to have my color redone every month but after using the Redken Color Extend for almost 6 months I find that I only need to have it done every 2 months. Initally I thought it was an expensive product but no more ...I have saved my not having to have my hair colored so often!!! The bottle lasts me 6 months...

redken shampoo softens the hair. i have really corse thick hair and finding shampoo that works for me is hard. i want it to soften and moisturize. this shampoo does that for me and when put together with its conditioner it leaves the hair feeling refreshed and smelling goodi . unfortunately i wasn't pleasently surprised but needless to say the it does what i bought it for and i was happy i didn't waste my money on something that do anything. i would suggest this product for someone who is looking to restore their hair after its been damged by color treatment or perm. the one downfall of the conditioner to this set is that it doesn't deep condition....
