valerigibbs says "Easy, Cheap, Convenient, BUT the movies are often faulty." about Redbox DVD Rentals

I like the convenience and affordability of the Red Box Rentals. I like the fact that there are many newer releases available as well. And that you can return the dvd to ANY of the Red Box Rentals, not necessarily the one you picked it up from.

However, I do not like that over half the dvds that we have rented from the Red Box Rentals have been faulty. Sometimes if we use our dvd cleaner we can get the movie to run and actually watch it. But that raises the price for us because the solution used in our cleaner is not cheap at all.

Because they come out of the Red Box there is nobody to complain to, so you can't just have the movie switched for one that works. And if you could, that is still inconvenient.

Now, maybe I have just had really bad luck, because I noticed the Red Box Rentals (for the most part) got very good reviews on here. So at this point I'm not going to completely write them off. Espcially since quite often you can get free coupons on the McDonald's drinks when...
...

I use Redbox Movie Rentals all the time. I love that I can rent at one and return it to any redbox location. I love that I can get movies for everyone in my family without having to make an extra trip. I also love that is it so inexpensive. I can afford to rent movies. My kids love it cause I will rent movies for them that I normally wouldn't because it's only one dollar. For me, the locations are great. I use the one at Walmart the most. I am always needing to go there for one thing or another, so it's easy to to drop it off or pick it up while doing my shopping. Redbox also has a great selection! Every Tuesday they have all the latest new releases.

Every month, redbox sends a free movie rental code to my cell phone. I love this and take advantage of it every time. They used to send it every monday ( I wish they still did). When they did send it every monday, you could guarantee that I would be there to pick something out.

I love Redbox because it easy, cheap,...
...

I just love Redbox DVD Rentals. I would recommend it to everyone. Me and my signifancant other love to watch movies, The movies are just $1 plus tax and is way cheaper than Blockbuster or any movie rental business. You get new releases for just $1 but if you are late returning it the next day, you are charged another $1 plus tax. It maxes out a $22 if never returned. The will deduct from your checking account so make sure you return the movie back to any redbox by 9pm the next day.

You can also enter in your email address at the redbox and it will send you confirmation to your email to let you know what day and time you rented it and when you return the dvd it will send to your email, confirmation that it was returned and it will send you a reciept of how much they charged you.

You can also get free movie codes by requesting it on the website. The cons are that when you are waiting for your movie to come out of the machine it is really slow.
...

All i can really say about the redbox is WOW! How much easier can it get really? I mean you wipe your card, pick your movie, enter your email address, enter your zip code, and bam you have your movie. There is one thing that I do not like about the redbox, and that is trhat you have to have the movies back by nine pm the next night. I wish there was an option to rent the movies for more nights. Another thing I wish the redbox had was for gift cards, so that I could get my nieces and newphew so they could use them. I love the selection that the redbox has. I have never been there when they were out of a new release. It takes the hassle out of going to the video store. Like getting there and them not having anything you want. Another thing I love about the redbox, is that when you rent a movie and want to return it, you can drop it off at any redbox. In the town i live in we have one at our Mcdonalds, and our walmart. I love how easy it is/
...

I love, love, love Redbox! Who's the mastermind behind this?!? What could be more convenient than the minute it takes to choose the dvd I want on my way out of the grocery store, or as I drive by Walgreens, etc? The choices also get rotated enough so there's usually something new when I do stop. You also can go to their site online and see what's available in the machine at your own location! I feel bad for our local video joint, I really do. But this is how business goes. Occasionally we still have had to pay over four times as much at our video store to get a popular new release. But that was our choice to not wait until the Redbox one was returned. I also have received several codes online or from my credit card company for a free rental! I can't even think of a single negative thing to say about it. Fantastic idea-and best of all, affordable in these financially unstable times!
...

This is the best idea ever!! You can reserve your movies on line and then go to the Redbox and pick it up! For $1 plus tax you can't beat it! I always rent our movies on my way to work on Friday morning and then they aren't due back until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday! GREAT, CHEAP family entertainment! I wish I would have thought of this!
...

We started off with one Redbox in Walmart, so I tried it out and liked. Then I went to their website and searched my zip code for local redbox, now we have like 5 in the area. I usually reserve online while I'm at work and then pick it up on my way home. When you reserve online you can pick a movie then find all the redbox near you that have it in stock! It is awesome! They even have new releases every Tuesday, it is ten times better than going to a regular movie rental store! Also, my sister lives out of town, and she doesn't have to stress out about returning her movies before she comes to visit, she can return them here with no problems! One of the best features is that you can return your dvd to any location!

Two weeks ago I reserved two movies online. When I went to pick them up it gave me two movies of each movie I rented. So I immediately returned one copy of each movie. When I got back in the car I called the one eighthundred number on the dvd box, it took a good...
...

RED BOX FOR A BUCK( plus tax) YOU CAN NOT BEAT THAT. IT IS THE BEST THING THAT HAS HAPPENED TO DVDS. THERE ARE RED BOXES INSIDE GROCERY STORES AND PHARMACIES. BUT THE GREATEST, ARE THE REDBOXES OUTSIDE ON SIDEWALKS. YOU JUST PULL UP, PARK YOUR CAR AND GET STARTED. YOU JUST SWIPE YOUR CREDIT CARD FOR $1 AND MAKE YOUR CHOICE. NEW RELEASE CHOICES, TOO. AND IF YOU WANT TO KEEP IT LONGER, IT IS JUST $1 A DAY.

WHEN YOU GO BACK TO RETURN IT, YOU JUST TOUCH THE SCREEN AND PUT THE DVD BACK IN THE SLOT. THERE ARE NO CASH REGISTERS. YOU MAY HAVE A LINE TO WAIT IN, BUT IT MOVES REALLY QUICK.

WHAT A GREAT IDEA.
...

i love this idea , whoever came up with this is a genius . it's convenient , easy , cheap .yes i wish there were more of these redboxes everywhere but i can deal with this . i can get a movie at 2 am if i want . it's so nice not to have to try and find some card i need to rent a movie . i probably threw it out with the trash. i love the redbox dvd movie rental boxes . it's so nice not to have to run around a big store trying to find something decent to watch , i can look on the internet and reserve the movie i want and just go pick it up . i don't have to deal with all the candy, popcorn , soda and all the other junk i don't need to buy when i go to rent a movie either ! i have been renting older movies that have been out for some time and paying 3.50 each , i don't need the movie for a week i am only watching this once or maybe twice . i would rather pay 1.00 and send it back the next day . i love this company .
...

I got into Redbox about a year ago when I went into Food World and saw it there. It seemed like an interesting concept, so I eventually ordered a movie and had it sent back the next day. No problems, no worries. If you want to catch the latest dvds coming out or what you thought you wouldn't see out, Redbox is the place for you. It's a dollar a day; If you keep it over a day, it's a dollar per day. If you take it out, it confirms to your email that you have it out. If you return it, it sends a confirmation to your email as well that it has been returned. To be honest, Redbox is a simple kiosk that is now dominating the video rental thingie hands down. But the only place it doesn't have beat is our local library where a movie can be had for a dollar a week. you can even sign up online on Redbox to be a part of their community, receive free codes to use to get free movies and get their free or upgrade to a Gold one perhaps. You can get Redbox on Twitter and Facebook as well, and allows for...
...

The next big thing! I adore Redbox and now they are even putting them into grocery stores! With today's economy, Redbox is a major hit in my house. We rent atleast 2 times a week from the Redbox. $1.00 per rental compared to $4.99 at other movie rental placed. It is a GREAT price and GREAT movies! Also, rent movies online at the Redbox nearest you to guarantee it's there when you get there! Last month when I called in with a question they have informed me that I have rented 104 movies with them in the past year. I would never have rented that much from any of the other retailers!!
...

This is a great service to use, where can you get a current dvd rental for $1.00 a day? They have lots of locations so it's not a major hassle to pickup or return them. As soon as they get the legal problems with 3 major studios ironed out you will see many more titles available. They are also planning to rent games and Blue-Ray . Love these guys.
...

Redbox is the next greatest thing for movie lovers. You can go online and locate the movie you want and which redbox has it in stock around you. Then you can reserve the movie online to ensure it is available when you get to the location. At only a buck a movie this is a really great deal and if by chance you don't get to watch it that night just keep it for another dollar. Very affordable! On top of all that the locations are really convient being located at most McDonalds, Wal-Marts, Walgreens, and some Meijers. Sure to find a Redbox on almost every corner and they can be returned to any location. I have picked some up on our way to the lake and returned them down there. This is a great concept.
...
